Hector: Hector hesitated momentarily. He hadn't often had some one tell him that he was their "friend." The closest he came to friendship was his relationship with August, but even then August seemed to portray ownership over him rather than friendship.

Hector gave her a quizzical look. "There's no need to escort me to the hospital wing. I'm feeling quite fine now, I'm sure professor Namida just wanted an excuse to get me out of the room." He sighed, shaking his head slightly. "She means well, but I think she's a bit over her head teaching here."

He hesitated momentarily, then continued speaking. "I'm surprised you haven't asked about the bear. Most others would have asked that the second we were out of earshot of the room. It's natural to be curious about oddities."

Fait: "Yeah, the bogart. See, I can't go back unless I fetch a new box for it. I have to go to the hospital wing anyway!" Fait said, quite pleased with the way she had side-stepped Hector's statement about going back without him. But he seemed fine now; did they still need to go there? Then again, Hector probably doesn't want to show his face in the classroom...

They turned the corner, nearing their destination. When Hector didn't respond, Fait shrugged. "And give me some credit; just because I sleep every spare moment doesn't mean I lack all sense. I figured you wouldn't want to talk about it." She kept her eyes forward, not even glancing in his direction. "Everyone's afraid of something. That's all there is to it in the end..."

Hector: Hector couldn't help but think how odd Fait was, or perhaps she was normal and it was August that was odd. He couldn't be entirely sure, but supposed there was no point in wondering about it, he wouldn't reach a conclusion with just two people to compare. He really disliked the complexity of tasmahou interaction. He saw the hospital wing as they neared, though couldn't think of a thing Madam Pomfrey could do to "treat" him.

"You know, I doubt the hospital wing even has boxes you can use," he remarked.

Fait: Fait furrowed her brows. "Professor did mention the box thing last minute. I don't want to say it, but she probably said that so that I would take you to the hospital wing." She tried to gauge Hector's reaction, but he seemed to be in his own thoughts again. Fait noticed that he did that often. Or maybe he just didn't want to be around her after what had happened with the bogart.

"In any case, I can't go back without some kind of container. I'll ask Madam Pomfrey where I can get one if she doesn't have one to spare." She hadn't given it much thought, but perhaps Hector simply wanted to be alone. Besides, Fait still had to go back to get their bags, and then she had to get ready for Muggle Studies.

Hector: Hector snorted, unsure whether Fait seriously thought the professor needed a box. Though, perhaps she actually did need a box, it seemed probable since this was professor Namida. He glanced at the hospital wing, making a quick decision.

"I feel fine, I don't need to go to the hospital wing. Perhaps she has a box, and perhaps she doesn't, but you were sent on the errand to find one, not me." He paused for a moment and looked at Fait. "Did you take my bag, or is it still up in the room?"
His tone had taken an odd quality of being conversationally aloof. He wasn't sure why, but he did want to be around Fait, nor did he want to go to his next class. He also didn't want to go to the hospital wing. Would it be alright if he played hooky this one time? His next class was Herbology. Yes, it would be alright to skip that class this once.

Hector shook his head slightly, realizing he'd zoned out again. He wasn't sure if Fait had answered him or not. "Well," he repeated. "Is my bad still in the classroom?"

Fait: Fait was startled by his abrupt question. "What? Oh...it's still in the classroom. I left with you in such a hurry; mine is still there, too." She was taken aback by his new mood. Yes, it was her errand but...

"If you're feeling fine, you go on ahead back to the classroom. I'm going to fetch a box first." Fait reasoned that it had been a long day and they were both a bit shaken. Everyone needed some personal time. She'd finish this job and then go back when the other students have left Defense Against the Dark Arts. If she was a bit late to Muggle Studies as a result, she'd make up some excuse. "Just put my bag somewhere off to the side for me. I'll go get it later."

Hector: "Alight, I'll put your bag off to the side for you." Hector turned to leave, but hesitated momentarily.
"Fait . . Thank you for walking me to the hospital wing." With that he turned and left, heading back towards the DADA classroom. He was in no hurry, and was hoping that by the time he got there everyone would be filing out, or at least close to leaving. He certainly hoped that the bogart would be well out of sight.

Fait: Before Fait could reply with a "you're welcome", Hector had already started heading back to the classroom. She could have shouted it, but she didn't want to draw attention to them. Knowing Hector, he was probably in his thoughts again and wouldn't even hear her. That was fine though. Hector went about things in his own way just like she did, and there wasn't anything wrong with that.

Guess I'll get ready for Muggle Studies. Fait decided to take the long way back to Ravenclaw Tower. A long walk would certainly clear her head.

And it was only when she was about to answer the question to get into the dorm that she remembered about the box. "...oh man..."

Winter Holidays

Classes have ended, and most of the students have gone home for the winter holiday. The few remaining have their own private winter paradise. A thick layer of snow covers the ground, making the world shine and sparkle. Although it's cold, playing on the grounds is a favorite pass-time of the students. The lake, mostly frozen over, is perfect for skating or sliding.

The castle itself has been thoroughly decorated for the holidays, and the great hall is open all day. There are numerous holiday treats available to eat, and plenty of hot chocolate and warm butterbeer. The house dormitories keep a blazing fire going all day, allowing for a nice warm atmosphere. With so few students, the castle seems especially quiet...

Hector: Hector yawned and stretched, he was laid out in front of the Ravenclaw common room fire. It was very warm. With classes over for a while, he felt he deserved a chance to relax for a while. He had decided to remain at the castle over the winter break, not feeling like traveling much. He had other reasons too, but he had yet to decide his course of action.

He peeked his eye open a bit. It was around midday. Perhaps he should head downstairs and get something to eat. With another yawn and a stretch, he pulled himself to his feet. He would have been very much contented to remain laying in front of the fire, but it was about time to go get something to eat. If he didn't he'd be really hungry later. He tightened his scarf around his neck and headed for the Great Hall.

Candace: Candace was outside, enjoying the brilliant snow. Despite her warm colors, she much preferred the cold to the heat. She pounced in the snow, burying her face in the white powder. She felt like a kid again, only happier. She shrugged off the thought.

It was time to get back to work, she turned around to study her work. She was building a fortress of snow(using magic of course) and it was coming along beautifully. It looked as though it were truly suited for a queen, which she was. She smiled, and continued to work. Perhaps I'll sleep out here tonight, in my own castle. I wonder if I'd get in trouble...

Terryn was nervous. It was his first time spending the holidays away from home. He was a first year Ravenclaw student and as he made his way to the Great Hall from the freezing outdoors, he reflected on how silent it felt. There was no crush of students anymore, the halls seemed so big. He could already smell the variety of food being prepared and served in the Great Hall and his nose led him straight to the sweets. Surveying the bounty that lay before him, he just couldn't decide what to eat first. He looked around, wondering how many other students from his House had decided to stay the holidays away from home.

Hector: Hector yawned again as he entered the Great Hall. There were a few students scattered here and there, but there were so few that he didn't care much. That was one great thing about the holidays, with so few students around he didn't have to worry about being harassed.

Hector noticed another Ravenclaw as he approached the food table; he looked young and nervous. (OOC: Hector is a third year) Hector chuckled, remembering what it was like to be young at the school; everything had seemed big and scary. Hector had gone home his first holiday. Shaking the thoughts from his head, he surveyed the sweets. Finally, he decided on some simple cake. He didn't have much of a taste for all the elaborate sweets offered, and just preferred a simple chocolate cake. He headed towards his food of choice, grabbing a plate along the way.

After getting his cake, he turned to the other Ravenclaw. For some reason, he was feeling in very much a good mood. "You know, the chocolate cake here is delicious. I don't have much of a taste for the fancy desserts, but a simple cake is always good." He smiled, and made his way to a seat far away from the other students.

Terryn squeaked a little in surprise when someone spoke to him. "Th-thanks!" he stuttered and grabbed a slice of the chocolate cake for himself, as well as a few sugar cookies with red and green sprinkles on them. He turned to smile at the other boy but he had already started to walk toward a table. Grabbing his plate, Terryn started after him. "H-hey, wait, can I sit with you?" He wasn't normally this forward, but he was nervous and had yet to make a friend at school.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 19, 2009 12:12 pm

Hector: "Hmm..?" Hector turned and noticed the nervous tasmahou following him. He thought he'd heard him ask if they could sit together. Hector shrugged. "I don't see why you couldn't sit with me."

With that, Hector turned again and made his way to a seat. He found an empty spot near a particularly large christmas tree and sat there. He enjoyed the decorations, because his family had not often decorated. Everything at school shined and sparkled, and it looked magical. He internally scolded himself for the bad pun, but couldn't help smile at it.

Hector looked over the young one who'd asked to sit with him; although they were in the same house, Hector hadn't seen him often. Though that wasn't surprising since Hector rarely paid attention to those in his own house.

"It's just, um, I haven't really met anyone yet." In truth, Hector had been the first one to speak to him outside of class. Terryn followed at a distance and sat across from his House mate, munching on a cookie as he looked at the tree. It reminded him of home, though their tree was never so large or grandly decorated. Smiling, he turned back to the older Ravenclaw. "I'm Terryn, it's nice to meet you."
