He shook himself. streaching his wings and getting up in the air with a single leap. "You did jump up here rather fast." he streached his wings more comfertible in the air, even though it was getting even more misty, clinging to his skin.

She chuckled a little bit, "I'll take you someplace very special and it should protect us from the mist. It can freeze to your skin and boy is it painful."

"The mist isn't bothering me. It's not much difrent then riding thunder heads temperature wise." He somented, for one, trying to impress her a bit, but also, with a confidence that came from knowing it was true.

"Follow me," she called as she made a sudden dive into sandpainter canyon. She skimmed around the bottom until she found a place where the canyon branched was fed into. It was a small opening in the rock carved by a river that flowed through it. She followed the river until they came to a protected spring.

Star Chaser followed most amused. The speed she moved between one thing and the next was unusual. He wondered if it was just her or if all social painters did the same. he flaped his wings and he langed in the protection of the cliftsa,nd bend down to grab a quick drink.

"Here we are, one of my favorite spots in all of the canyon," she said grinning. She landed on a rock overhang an crossed her paws lazily.

He took a look, taking his time and pacing the small area. Its a little cramped for his tastes, but nice. He generaly slept in the open air. "Are you sure this isn't your den?"

"You've already seen my den she said as she leaped into the spring. She paddled around in the water and gave Star Chaser little splash. "Come on in , it's great. It's heated by the dead volcano." She looked up at the twilight sky excitedly. She loved nightfall.

Starchase sat as the edge of the water, not sure he wanted to go in. He was clumsy enough on the ground and it was going to be hard enough to get to his home, the sky, form this tight spot, and he had never tried to take off from in water. But he didnt' want Elipse to think less of him, so he carfully moved intesting his new wait in the water, with a look of suprise at the release of strain on his wings. He smiled a bit to himself shifting his wight forward into the water and splahing her with his large wings. 'So it is."

"I'm glad you like it," she said splashing him again, "It's a little bit like flying." She paddled using her wings and crawled up a rock face. She looked at the glinting stars and sighed. She loved clear nights likes these, where the arm of the milky way could be seen stretching across the night sky.

"A bit like watching a whelp try to fly you mean?" he flaped his wings using his tail as a rutter and akwardly swam through the water, hitting the top of the water with his wings from pulling them to high out of the water. "No wonder mandrics dont' have wings... " he murmred to himself as her finally figured out how to kick in a way that propel himself almost forward managing to land himself in the middle of the pool. "You seem to be looking up there a lot tonight. You just need to glance my way to see the stars."

Eclipse grinned at his flirtatious remark and dove back into the pool. Under water she nibbled his tail before breaking the surface, "I think I'm see the night sky in a totally different light." She bent towards him and nuzzled him. Eclipse had an air of frightening confidence, she was quite sure that he would be her mate by the end of the night.

He jumped when she bit him but let her nuzzle him, breifly before nipign her head fin. He laughs to himself and shiffted all his weitgh back swimming backwards in a simulation of flight, tail and feet being that actuall proplents. He grinned at her. "And what light do you see the starts in?"

Eclipse threw back her head and laughed, "Even you aren't ready for what I seen in the stars." She dove to the bottom of the pool in search of something to eat. She came across the strangest looking fish she had ever seen. It was long flat faced eel. Something in her gut told her it was dangerous. It hadn't spotted her, so she took her chance. Eclipse snatched it in her jaws and to he great surprise she felt a current of electricity from the tip of her nose to the end of her spine. With a yelp she broke the surface and slammed the fish against the wall of the spring.

Start Chaser senced a stirring in the water, and when she came from the water with such speed he wondered what exactly had cause her a fright. He knew it was no small thing for she was too strong headed to scare easilly. He swam over casious. "Are you alright?" He say a small burn mark on her face and reached his head over and then spotted the long snake like creature in his mouth. "A snake? Did it bite you?"
