"I was just..." Cross looked over his shoulder point in the direction of where he came. "There where all these old people that wouldn't...Wait." Cross looked back to Kard and a grin slipped across his lips.
"Did you just say YOU where talking to 'ladies?" The boy asked looking at his naturally shy bro.
"Where? which ones?" He then asked trying to get a look behind Kard and where he came to maybe get a look at the girls he was talking about.

Kard frowned at Cross' sudden change in topic. "Yes 'I' was talking to ladies... I bumped into them an-" He shook his head as his blush came back. "That doesn't matter. They were nice, and I was worried about you."
He let out a long sigh knowing the Cross would now have to see the ladies Kard actually was talking to. "I'll show you which ones, common." He turned around, but this time he would wait for Cross before continuing.
"Yes Ma'am, you got it." The president chuckled a little at the flustered response of the two cadets. It was the same every time. But with the new faces it never got old. "Right this way than ladies." He waited for the two body guards to start moving before he moved himself.
Nicodemus remand behind the cadets as they were lead to the stage. He said nothing. The president was so much like his little brother sometimes... Nicodemus often wondered what the little man was up to now. Than another part of him was still furious over what had happened six years ago. Even if their parents had it coming.

Shora followed obediently, if not somewhat wide-eyed as she still put together what was happening. Eventually her thoughts fell back to what was taking Kard so long - now she hadn't introduced herself, and to try and but in and take care of the issue now would be awkward, while leaving it be be plain rude.
"And now he and his friend probably wont find us until the announcement!" she decided to lelt it be, hopefully the President would notice her lack of an introduction and ask before all eyes in the room were on them. She leant over toward Angelina and lowered her voice.
"Not quite what I expected to happen to say the least! What about you?"

Shoot how long had it been? He mulled it over for a moment before giving a rough estimate. "I've been her pilot a little over 2 years now..." Lewis could not help but notice some sort of commotion farther across the room and was becoming mildly distracted by it. He cursed his luck for not being close enough to tell what was going on at all. "It looks something is starting to get going over there."
Suddenly noticing that he was getting off track Lewis tried to get back to their conversation. "Ah, so... Have you had much of a chance to pilot any of the aerial rental ZOIDs yet? Some of them look like the actual piloting would be pretty different compared to a terrestrial ZOID."

As Lewis pointed out some commotion, Chase glanced over and tried to see what was going on. Unfortunately, he wasn't really able to tell what was happening either. If it was something important, he supposed they'd find out soon enough.
"Yeah not sure what's going on there..." he said while trailing off. When the other man went back to the talk of zoids, he turned his attention back to him.
"Yeah, though not as much as I'd like. But of what I've tried, I think I'm better with handling the aerials anyway. Though the ground Zoids are still pretty good to use in their own right."

she was still slightly surprised but with a straight face Angelina followed behind the president toward the stage, she stayed silent and wouldn't speak until spoken too as was her military demenor.
Lorna looked up from her plate, and saw a group moving toward the stage, she quietly stood and joined the crowd massing around the stage. The Presidents speach was about to start.

Cross held back a laugh as Kard blushed. Ha gotcha. Showing a shrug the boy fallowed after Kard.
"Ladies man." Cross teased giving Kard a little punch in the shoulder. haha, he couldn't resist...though the boy wouldn't admit it, but he would most likily blush too. Though he wasn't now so he would take the chance to rub it in. (sorry a little small)

"....." Kard coughed at the comment. He wished... Kard weaved his way through the crowd only to find that the two he had been talking to had already gone! He frantically looked back and fourth, only to see what he thought was a glimpse of them heading away with the general. A puppy dog look covered his face as he figured he had been too long and he offended them... "I think... they were just here...- oh... no..." He bit his lower lip as he looked back at Cross.
When the president reached the ramp to the stage he turned to the two cadets with a smile. "Of course I didn't forget about the introductions." He held out to offer a shake to the ladies. "President Coleman, but I hope that you two knew that. Or else I'm not doing a very good job..." He laughed. His name was pretty much everywhere. Especially in the military.
Nicodemus remained silent as he waited behind the two ladies. He was lost in thought by now, his facial expression was so serious. He looked like an alert statue. A skill he had also perfected over the years. Of all night to be thinking of his brother, why tonight? Was he okay? It didn't matter... He tried to convince himself that he didn't care. But that was all in vain.

As they stopped Cross looked around, no girls? He let his gaze travel. Oh...he saw what Kard was doing.
Cross folded his arms and looked over to Kard. "you know if you didn't want me to fallow you around, you can always just tell me to stop." Cross spoke raising a eyebrow looking up to his red head friend.
"I mean since you finally hit puberty, I know it's not so cool to be around us 'kids' anymore." the boy spoke raising his hands he made the air quotes with his fingers at 'kids'. Oh he was just mostly joking with Kard.

"Of course Mr. President." she said formally everyone knew who President Coleman was in the military, Angelina was no exception. "It's an honor to meet you in person Sir." she extended her own hand stiffly and shook President Coleman's hand. "I do recall introducing myself inappropriatly earlier." s
Lorna looked over to her right, there was a boy who seemed to have lost someone, and another who was following. Lorna walked over "Did you loose someone?" she asked quietly then glanced toward the stage to make sure she hadn't missed anything.

Shora let out a mental sigh of relief as she shook the Presidant’s hand. If she ever had the chance later on, she’d have to make sure she got around to explaining to him just how much embarrassment he had saved the Cadet from. On the physical level though, she just nodded curtly, smiling and said:
“I’m Shora Stromsten, and I guess I'll just quote Angelina, it truly is an honour to actually meet and talk to you!” it was just like meeting a famous person really. You know, maybe because it was a case of meeting a famous person?
With that, she took a small step back, keeping out of the way so that they could proceed with the speech and other formalities.

Kard shot a wide glare to Cross. "WHAT!? I never, I didn't imply, aww, Cross... how could you even think that? I'm not that mean!! Of course I want you to f-" Kard rubbed his face and ruffled his hair while blowing raspberries. "I like hanging with you. Who else is gonna keep me out of trouble -GAH- don't ever say that again..." He frowned and folded his arms across his chest.
"Of course, I didn't forget." The president laughed as he shook Angelina's hand. "Formalities don't matter right now. If anyone asks I'll just say you out formal-ed me for an introduction. Technically that is very true..." He looked over to Nicoemus who seemed to be lost in thought, again. He let out a slight sigh before focusing back on the two cadets. "It's an honor to meet both of you fine young soldiers. We wouldn't be the republic without any of you. I hope you realize that."
Again he looked back to Nicodemus. "That's what you wanted to say before I interrupted right?" He laughed. "I know when you get that previous face, that's the speech coming."
Nicodemus snapped out of his thought for a moment when the president addressed him. "Yes, that is what I was going to inform them."
"...hmm..." The president hummed at his response. Six years and it was getting worse. "After the party, right after, we need to talk." He gave Nicodemus a pat on the arm, height considering, than begun to walk ion stage.
The orchestra begun to play the familiar anthem of the Republic. Pres. Colman waved to the crowed as they clapped. His two body guards also stepped on stage and took their place behind and on either side of the president. Nicodemus took his spot on the side of the stage where he could see the entire room. The two cadets were instructed to be right behind the president as he gave his speech.
"Another year another party. It is grand to see you all here tonight. So, by default, I should probably let you guys know who I'm going to thank for this occasion. First I'd like to thank our military for their constant hard work in keeping the republic safe. Not only from the forces of evil either." One of the most note able things of this man was that he despised the use of a prompter. Most all his speeches were memorized or off the top of his head. It was one of the favorite things noted to this president... "Th-"
The lights suddenly flickered and a loud humming noise came from outside of the ball room. Black fog? or perhaps it was gray, came through the windows and underneath the doors. (Which were strangely locked and closed. No one could recall when they were closed.) There was shuffling about and screams, especially from people who have heard rumors of fog. No one has really seen what the fog of the Judge was like (All but Cross)... so this wasn't helping the rumor any. Nicodemus quickly moved from his position to put himself between the President and Cadets, while the body guards moved close to the president.
A gunshot rang thought the ball room, a flash of light came from the back half of the room. People begun to shuffle and panic in a near mob like state. Most anyone from the military begun to scramble and keep the civilians in line.
-----
A beam of light flickered through the fog and illuminated the front stage. Thank God someone had managed to grab one... The president was covered by his two guards, whom didn't seem to have any wound on them, neither did the president. Nicodemus was infront of Shora, and gripping his chest. Nothing serious and he thanked God that whomever shot the gun didn't know where the damn heart was. Or at least missed. He grunted as he looked at the crowd. If it were not for the numerous experiments Fox had done on him, Nicodemus would have been on the floor by now.
He stood there and eyed the crowed. His overbearing secretary was going to have a cow when she heard about this... and another suit was ruined, for the most part. But that was least on his worries. "Secure All the exits! The suspect is still here!" He looked about the room, the flashlights moved across the people who froze at his words. "Remain Calm!" He looked over the crowd again. "I know you can hear me, give up now, you have no escape." Nicodemus frowned as he looked over the mass of people. What fool would intrude on a republic military based party!?
A whine came from behind the stage, the president's blue great dane organoid (Affectingly named Scoob) was cowering behind the stage.
(( So what does a cleverly chosen spin off mean? MYSTERY! So now there is a who done it in your hands. Seeing as Nicodemus won't be moving anytime soon and neither will the president, the cadets get to figure this one out. This is now counted as a mass MISSION. There will be an award for the one who catches the gun man.
-Yes, black fog is still about the room, but it doesn't cover the whole room. It has settled a bit more since it first appeared and now only goes about knee high.
-I'll slip subtle hints in with almost every post I make with Kard. Cross might have some subtle hints too. There will also be random people "I saw this and that" Some will be lying. But you never know who. Quite possibly no one will lie or only one will tell the truth. Fear does nutso things to people.
-or else. (( For Emothunder )) ))

Shora concentrated on just standing straight while the President and General Whitebane had their miniature ‘argument’, although she could hardly call the simple pointing out of one’s mannerisms an argument. Then they were off.
As she and Angelina walked onto the stage, Shora began to feel somewhat uneasy. The same problems which had put a downer on the first stages of the event began to cumulate into a mild form of stage fright, despite the fact that she most certainly wouldn’t be the centre of attention. She did as told and took her position a bit further back behind the President and his guards, fortunately without making herself look too much out of place in comparison to the more well rehearsed movements of the Republic’s Michal B. Coleman and Nicodemus E. Whitebane. Oh, and of course the bodyguards themselves.
Then she relaxed when the President started speaking, and hence the people who had been staring up to try and see who this year’s pranked cadets were turned their attention back to their leader. From there she instead opted to listen in, the words of the speech offering something to think about, keeping her mind off the crowd.
Because remember, there’s two types of scientists in the world three if you count the crazies.
She looked up as the lights began to flicker slightly, and had to hold down a chuckle at the thought of the General forgetting to pay his electricity bill leading up to such an important event. However when the President didn’t continue speaking, the sounds of uncertain spectators beginning to fill the room instead, she frowned and looked back down to the crowd...
...And muffled a gasp by flinching. A thick smog seemed to be filling the grand room, and the vast majority of the people present were looking around with the same confused expressions she was displaying as she scanned the scene, muttering beginning to fill the air.
“What in the..?” at the exact moment that the General appeared to start making his way over to the President, she involuntarily stepped back as anyone would.
That’s when the lights finally failed and the room erupted into chaos at the sound of a gunshot. Shora herself yelped out, although between the wailing of the civilians and annoyed yelling of the more advanced military personnel trying to salvage the situation, she never figured out exactly what she said. And then the first person to get their hands on a torch just had to go and shine it directly in her face.
After growling in annoyance, she pried one eye open to see what was going on. Instinctively the first place she looked was to where the President and the majority of his entourage were, but that’s kind of hard to do when you have near-on eight feet of Nicodemus right in front of yo-
“S-Sir?!” That was the point where she realised that the target had been an entirely different Republican official to the head honcho.
