Chief kept his eyes peeled for anyone that looked like they could be of assistance. So far he only saw a black and gold nymph crying, and a blue yokai darting away from her. Neither of them looked as if they knew much, nor cared much of what was going on. His mind went back to what 'The Watcher' had said. That there were two goddesses to be thanked. Than to what the other yokai said. The entity. He couldn't help, but to agree. There was no real reason to thank them. All this has done for him personally was caused great confusion.

As he continued to walk he saw the yokai and a poltergeist in the park. They were also with a lore. He knew the yokai knew what was going on, but did not deem it wise to question him. The other one though, might be a bit friendlier, and wouldn't mind informing him on a few things. He began to slither down the path into the park. When he came close to the ghostlings and lore he stopped not wanting to interrupt. If the small one had anything like the temper of the yokai and he interrupted it wouldn't end good. He was sure of that.

Hikaru stood rather baffled by everything it was all rather confusing and then out of nowhere a rather creepy looking figure appeared and started going on about a goddess and a god and about some other goddesses then that purple yokai appeared as a crow which interested her alittle

He had a rather bad tempter and made a big commotion and then just as suddenly as it all started it ended and it all left Hikaru more confused then before she also noticed that other ghostlings were now branching out to explore and find more answers

With that Hikaru turns back to the well dressed charm dragon bows politely and takes her leave looking around curiously she was a rather new ghostling but she knew this place it was a place she had been many a time in her life not her ghostling life but her live life so she knew her way around alittle

She contiued to wander looking around in awe at all the decorations and such and was actually starting to get excited by the idea of a festival thats when she turned a cornner and saw a strange black ghostling with a heart shaped hole in her chest crying instictivly Hikaru wanted to confort her so she walked over and stood next her"hey are you alright?"she asks in a soft curious but consirned tone

As a kind looking sireni approached he, Jewel wiped the tears off her face. She kindly asked her what was wrong, and Jewel figured that someone who cares enough to ask deserves an answer. "It just that I was talking to someone, and the next thing I knew they had darted of away from me....It's nothing really..." She was lying and leaving out details and usually that would kill her on the inside, but for some reason it didn't affect her.

She tried to smile, but failed. Than before she knew it she had fallen to the ground and began crying again. She had no idea why she was so upset. She had just met Percy and now she was all worked up about him dashing away from her. One day in this whole new world and she was already sad and confused.

Valkon stared at the wolf a moment. Memories dropped down on him. The eyes of the fox stared back at him. Finally after a long time, he nodded. "Tai Zahra. Valkon." His hand was clenched tightly as he watched his son a moment. "I'm... glad you are here, but I've something to do. Hawke, you and Tai remain here for the moment. I'll come back and get you if I need you. It's important but I need you to keep an eye out for the crows. They will look for either me or you. Do you understand, son?

"Yes, Dad. I understand. Tai and I will be fine." Hawke replied, watching his father with large eyes. "What happened?"

Valkon sighed. "Two goddesses tried to fix something and I think they made it worse, but I need to look for the others. Your mother and sister. Chronos and Lord Azmodeus are not here. They were not brought. I have no idea if the twins or the others know what to do. Most probably scattered unsure."

The lore nodded as he listened. "I understand. I'll protect Hawke for you, but when this is over, it's my duty to be at your side. I want to go with you wherever it may be. Touma... he is a friend, but he is not the one I am meant to remain with."

Tai wondered briefly if Valkon would take him. Their connection was still there, but there was a great deal of anger within the eyes of this soul that had not been there until he himself had been injured. It was between them at their deaths.

Valkon nodded. "Fine. You can remain with us. I'm sure there will be things for you to do, Tai." Turning back to Hawke, he hugged his son to him a moment. "Be good, Hawke, and remain hidden. Listen to Tai. I'll be back as soon as I can. The humans cannot see you, but they can hear some things you do. The thump of your feet, or even a whistle. But here there are few of them right now."

Turning he shoved something into his pocket before he shifted to a crow. There was something he needed to find. And he would do so as quickly as he could. There was much to be done and he was limited on time.

Valkon flew around the square again after leaving his son and the lore behind, drifting on the air as he looked for the place he needed to find. People went about their duties, placing tents and items on display for the festival and he blended into the birds already flying here and there. He wondered briefly if there would be fireworks also. Those could make a good distraction to keep the obvious from being seen. But for now he wanted to remain unseen. Discreet. One learned much when none knew one was there and he blended in well enough that only up close scrutiny would note the difference. Noone was getting that close.

Touma drifted around from place to place where the people were working. He had found out that the two goddesses were named Juska and Seska. Supposedly one was light and one was dark, but noone really said which one. Two men were also talking about how so few spirits had been seen for some time. He imagined that was the reasoning they were all here now.

It was a bit annoying but that was only because their actions had interrupted him. In some ways he preened as they talked of the spirits even the yokai who had been so upset. It pulled on his vanity to think that they thought the ghostlings were so special. He knew he was but it only made him feel even more unique when the humans spoke of the same thing. He supposed he should find something to do and he began looking around for a small task that he might be able to help with.

Once the yokai, who Chief now understood to be the poltergeist's father, had left he slithered up closer to the young ghostling and the lore. "Ummm..... I was wondering if you could explain to me what could possibly be going on here?" He was hoping that the young ghostling could...'enlighten' him, for lack of a better term, on what was going on. He scratched his head nervously.

Up in the sky an odd light, much like the aurora borealis, appeared in the sky. The colors swirled about each other than danced about the moon. One of the many wonders of this phenomenon was that the lights went behind the moons as well as in front. It made the two moons look closer than they actually were. The humans around stopped what they were doing to watch as this wonder. Many of them begun to cheer.

"The goddesses have blessed us!"
"The festival this year will be best yet!"
"Blessed be the goddesses, Juska and Seska!!"
"Dad, can I have a pony?" Which was promptly responded to as "No".

Fireworks were set off near the harbor further lighting the night with an arrey of colors. This would mark the official start of the celebration.
"LET THE WORSHIP BEGIN!" A human cried. His voice carried across town followed by a roar of cheer.

The Watcher perched himself atop the clock tower to further observe. His eye fell upon the ghosts that inhabited the festival.

((OOC... LOL on the tower... razz at Gun! just a little private joke everyone... ))

Valkon flew around the square again after leaving his son and the lore behind, drifting on the air as he looked for the place he needed to find. People went about their duties, placing tents and items on display for the festival. He wondered briefly if there would be fireworks also. Those could make a good distraction to keep the obvious from being seen. But for now he wanted to remain unseen. Discreet. One learned much when none knew one was there. He saw the watcher on the clocktower. He didn't care but he'd have to do it a bit more slyly.

When the entity was sure that he was on the west side, Valkon dropped lower and lower. The younger ghostlings were wandering about looking like confused ants as he swooped downwards. He landed perching on the high decorative pinnacle before him. The crow studied the area below him for a long moment, watching those working and wandering the square before his attention turned back to where he was.

The building itself was grand, constructed out of carved stone. He imagined it took a year or better to create it. It rose towering over the square like some ancient monolithic guardian several stories into the air and he stared at the face staring back at him. At the very center he noted a hole that would just be the right fit. But none paid attention as they moved about their business. And even if they did, there was little that could be done about it.

Such fools. Not simply the humans but some of the ghostlings too. They were about to get a rude awakening. Lord Azmodeus was not sealed out as they thought. Not if he had anything to say about it. There were others who had power than these supposed goddesses and that point was going to be plainly made. He ruffled his feathers, shaking them out as he thought what to do. This was the spot and he moved slowly over to the middle. A few other birds were nestled there watching. Pigeons- and he squawked, making them move out of his way. It would be hard with a beak and feet such as he had, but it had gotten him here.

There was not much room on this ledge perhaps a foot or so. But it was all there was. If he fell, he supposed he could shift to crow really fast. Then he laughed softly. Ironically. He was a ghostling and could float. Few could be said to be paying attention. One was stealing shinies. Another was pouting. Yet others were simply slithering around and looking into the stalls. He sighed. They should all be finding something constructive to do with their time. It could all be too easily taken away from them and they'd never see what he was doing or even understand it.

Flapping his wings as he landed on the longer arm of the two, Valkon gathered his footing before he changed to a rat. He could have done this as himself but even then violet tails were very noticeable. He required the stealth of a rat and that was all anyone would see if they happened to spot him. A rat following a path that few could fit upon if they could even see him as high up as he was. The object was in his mouth even as he had shifted and he carefully moved towards the center of the face. The path was narrow, but it was straightforwards though slightly slippery. Once then twice he hesitated to keep his footing, but the rat soon found himself at the hole. He could have fit into it, but instead he carefully placed the object he carried into it.

Now all he could do was wait. Another should soon be appearing.

Hawke glanced over at the ghostling with the snake tail. "I know some of what is going on. What my dad is so angry about." he finally replied. "He said that he used to live here in the forest. Him and a bunch of other ghostlings when they were little. He helped a human or two but he also played pranks on them. I guess that goddess Kita kicked a bunch of them out for no reason leaving them to die in the darkness. But Lord Azmodeus was there. He saved them and gave them a place to live. It's where I was... born. I guess you'd call it that."

He stopped a moment to think what words to say before continuing. "Anyhow, Lord Azmodeus is strong. He opened a portal up and everyone there came back for a short time. Kita was stupid and my father and some others captured her. She lives there too now. In the dark, but we weren't doing anything except trying to figure out how to live there when suddenly we are back here again."

The ghostling shook his head. "Haven't seen my psycho mom or my crazy sister either. And Uncle Chronos isn't here either. Dad's not happy about being taken away again from where we were even though he was trying to get back here. I guess..." He rubbed his head a minute at the edge of his hat. "I guess it's cause of the way it was done. I'm supposed to be watching for Dad's crows. They will find us eventually. My name is Hawke. My dad is Valkon and this is Tai Zahra."

Tai sat curled up, his tails around Hawke. He took his duty seriously and would have warned the other ghostling off except for the questions he had asked. As he watched the naga like ghost, he wondered how many others were as confused.

"I'm a lore." Tai finally stated. "Not exactly like you are but a spirit of sorts."

Touma listened to the people as he continued to wander around the square. He hoped they would have fireworks. The last time he remembered such was when Capell and Sigmund had been returned to everyone. Of course, Sigmund had remained out of sight more often than not. He was just glad to have his son back and they were all glad to have him.

He briefly wondered about these goddesses and what they were like. Were they good or evil? Or perhaps both? Noone was saying any of that but simply that they give thanks. Should there not be more details? Scratching his head, the ghostling wondered if he should even be thinking thoughts like this. Maybe not but he was enjoying watching everything.

The Watcher gazed upon the crow with a hidden grin. This one was different indeed. Perhaps with combined efforts? To any other perhaps Valkon's actions would have gone unnoticed, but they did not name this entity "Watcher" for a mere show. Something was terribly odd about this ghost.

"Tell me little Yokai, why do you do what you do? Is there some shred of hope? Trust? Or do you feebly cling to a dream in prayer it doesn't fade away?"
The voice echoed throughout the tower. Slowly he begun to shift through the tower ceiling. Its form still transparent as if it were only a projection. The fog swirled about his robe and the item Valkon was previously caring. Yet the item remained unmoved. -good good..-

Valkon stiffened slightly, but snorted in extreme amusement as he let the rat form go. His violet tails twitched back and forth. Then he laughed wickedly as he drifted there, his feet holding him as much as he floated on the ledge. "Why not? Kita does not have my loyalty any longer. And I do not know your goddesses. They've interrupted what I want without so much as a "by your leave"or 'may I interfer?'."

"Hope? Trust?" he laughed. "I do not entirely trust Azmodeus. I definitely do not trust Kita. And as far as my own motives, I prefer not to share them with you entirely. At one time I would have used both Kita and Az for what I want. I still might." He stared at the watcher closely for a moment, then grinned. "When this is all over. In the beginning it was simply my own protection that dictated such. My survival. Nothing more. Nothing less. Now I do it because of other things that mean more to me. My reasons include friendship, protection, and even loyalty. Even my own amusement is laced into such. In the end all are my choices and not at the whim of others."

"But since you are asking questions, it is only fair that I ask a few in return. Who's construct are you? You seem awfully mechanical to me. Simply watching. Don't you ever find the thrill of a prank well played? Or feel the warmth of choosing to enjoy a sunny day in a dark glade despite any work that needs done?" he hesitated still grinning. It almost reminded him of a puppet with a master behind. Similar to the constructs they had been working on. "Are there strings behind that cloak, Watcher, that keeps you watching instead of enjoying even this festival as you want to?" His grin widened as his amusement rose a bit more. If he got answers, fine. He'd learn from it and if he didn't, he'd know in some way that he was right about this creature.

"gods and goddesses care little for the mortals. Any and all are selfish. You know that well. But we play into their desires because they have the power to destroy our existence." Watcher's words were still in the same dark tone. It never changed from before.

"I am the construct of fate, my strings are tied to any who summon me. This is why I am here, this is what I do. I serve my purpose with no regret. I do not feel joy, I do not feel regret, I do not feel anger." Watcher moved closer to Valkon, yet his mist still swirled about that item.

"Do you not feel a greater purpose for what you do? Are your actions not controlled by strings as mine? You say what you do is for the dark god... with your own motives attached, but how do you know some other deity is not behind those strings as well? Are you not a puppet as well?"
A shadowy hand moved from the cloak and pointed to Valkon. There seemed to be something very shiny attached to its wrist. It looked like a small pocket watch with a small note attached to it. "Or are them some that can break the fate even a god has set upon them?"

That made a little more sense Chief thought. Kinda sorta. Right? "Ummm....Lord Azmodeus?" He questioned not fully understanding. He slid his hand across the smooth scales of his tail. This was all quite a bit to handle. Gods, Goddesses, some creepy 'Watcher'. Chief felt as if his head was spinning.

Well if this 'Kita' sent them somewhere, and these other goddesses brought them back, he most certainly did not like them already. Fireworks began to go off and people began to scream and shout. He tried his best not to take notice and maintain a serious attitude. That wasn't very easy for him. He couldn't help, but to look up and the wondrous explosions.

"Of course they care little. Even these two only did what they did for power of some sort." Valkon smirked as he listened to Watcher. He was beginning to like him but the question was should he?

"Construct of fate. I thought you were a bit... mechanical. It's a pity you cannot feel those things. None are complete without feeling of some sort. Not ghosts nor humans. Perhaps not even constructs." He did not move when the watcher moved closer. Ultimately it was his choice to continue this conversation. His eyes had narrowed slightly at the presence of the watch and note.

"A greater purpose? For what? I came back and now I have another life to live. Not as it was but no less. Just different. And all is illusion of some sort. To you it is manipulations by others. To me it is my own choices that I make. Semantics." Valkon smirked. With a grin, he moved closer to Watcher. "Perhaps the strings are only on you." he said. "Afterall you are the construct. Not I." Reaching out deliberately, Valkon took hold of the watch and note on its wrist. "So tell me, how do you break the fate even a god has put upon you? If you ask, you must know the answer."

It could very well get him into trouble and quite possibly be the last act he ever committed, but there was that chance he needed to. In the end, it was his choice whether to or not. He did and yanked the watch trying to remove it. More than likely it was from Chronos again and there were things he should do.

Hawke nodded. "He's the one whose castle we lived in. We had our own rooms, and the crows, and rats that helped Dad collect bones. It was alot of fun. Of course my psycho momma and crazy sister were there too, but I lived with my dad. Not them."

He blinked at the bright colors that shot up into the air, curling up against Tai a bit more closely. "What are those lights? Should we hide from them more?" he asked softly, looking over at Chief and then back to Tai. Should he be afraid of that or not? Hawke was quite uncertain, but he'd never seen anything quite like them in his short life.

As Alnara sat alone on her bench and looked at the ground, there was a sudden loud boom sound and a sudden burst of bright light. Alnara looked up and watched as there was a brilliant display of fireworks up in the sky probably celebrating the festival. It reminded her of her past life. When she was a princess, she remembered there had always been festivals to celebrate her kingdom, and there had been plenty of fireworks as well. It was a very nostalgic moment as she watched the fireworks. She wondered what all the other ghostlings were doing. Alnara got up from her bench and made her way towards the park for a better view of everything. As Alnara walked through the darkness lighted only by the fireworks up in the sky,she noticed two figures standing in the park, talking. It was that snake ghostling from earlier and some other ghostling she had never met. Alnara approached the two of them,"What are you two talking about? Oh,I forgot to tell you..." Alnara turned to the snake ,"I'm Alnara...sorry for being rude earlier..." Alnara turned over to the other boy,"And who are you?" Alnara smiled. There was an odd looking creature that sat next to the other boy's leg...it was kinda looking at he and gave her the creeps...
