Lanzer Sorry, will need to check with the art group. I kept getting surprised that it wasn't finished. Yeah, but not on the next event. We need to free up some time on the side to set another one up. But we're definitely planning for one in the future. emorexic-pimp »ĘмǿЯέжĨç~ÞĨмþ«Hi Lanzer! Love the avi XD Only two questions: Will we be seeing the prom ending anytime soon? And will there ever be another "interactive" plot? I HAS AN AUTO-FORMAT TOO! SEE? Lanzer Just answered that earlier today. We can't do it for the next event, but we had a lot of fun working on them and we'll definitely work on another one. Lintra ] As a big fan of the Zurg plot, I was wondering if you plan on doing more plots in the future similar to the Zurg and Labtech plots. I know many people would be willing to volunteer there time to help out, and I believe NPC journals with a summary of activities would be a big help in keeping things organized. Please consider bringing interactive plot back. Thank you.

Linnie, thank you for sending me a PM linking me to this thread. Yes, I will be available in any way you would like, to help this cause.
I was very excited when I noticed that the SD plus alien dolls became available recently through the Lonely Star RIG. To me, this meant that Gaia has not forgotten the Zurg, but is ready for a new plot advancement when the time is fitting.
I am looking forward to joining everyone here to help educate new Gaians about "interactive plot." Getting an affirmative answer from Lanzer about this project is THE feather in our cap. Congratulations!
*hugs*

Here is something that I just posted in this thread that might be worth contemplating.
Kudos! mxyMenthy By all means, if Gaia wants to put funds towards new navigation and the layout go right ahead. Just don't forget about the plot because that's what pulls Gaians back to Gaia. I loved the chance to interact with the NPCs, that interactive plot made Gaia different. We can't find that option anywhere else. It was the best feeling knowing, hey I know that someone who was able to "impact" the plot, and really kept me playing along as well. I'd sit in class, anticipating getting home and going to Gaia to see if anyone else had figured out anything out. Unlocking and figuring out the messages. I don't mind the navigation layout changes, if it was "in addition". Please Gaia Staff don't forgot about the interactive plot. It was not fail. Really. We loved it. heart It is what made the Zurg special and sentimental And thank you for the zurg dolls. heart and changing the zurg dolls to portray them more accurately. I really appreciate that you took the extra time to do that, because most items don't get changed after they've been released. It's wonderful to see you here, Menthy. *hugs*
You brought up some very good points on what it felt like to be part of an interactive plot on Gaia, something our new Gaians have not had a chance to experience. Being a part of a plot means that Gaia is brought into "real time" for the user, and the user can contribute to the story in ways that reading a manga cannot do (although having a manga as a support project is a wonderful thing in itself, and welcomed!. ^_^)
About Interactive-ness: Recently in the news, it was revealed that Anthony E. Zucker will be releasing a novel: Level 26: Dark Origins. What makes this book a little different is that Zucker has designed this as a 'digi-novel' so readers will be able to go online to level26.com, the home base for movie bridges and interactive plot development. Users will be able to read the book as a stand-alone novel, read it and follow along with the online movie segment bridges, or read it, follow along with the bridges, and become part of the online community. Zucker said that his website will allow users to upload other content that people can witness, submit characters, cast members and storylines for future books.
How is Level 26 connected to Gaia? I wanted to illustrate how much Gaia has already been ahead of this interactive idea, and we have made our own history. I think we have experienced something special, and that we can make history repeat itself -- something for and by Gaia users.
-- Wouldn't Gaians like to create new characters and help with the storyline? (Yes, I would. ^_^) -- Wouldn't Gaians want to unlock secrets to a developing story, just to find out what happens next? (This is the Level 26 premise) -- Couldn't Gaia welcome the talents of on-site new writers and artists (from Gaia users) to help supplement the creative well of interactive social online play? (I would think that this would be a bonus to Gaia -- volunteerism contains a goldmine, when used well.)
I am pleased to be part of the Gaia community, and love to visit Gaia daily. However, I think introducing another Interactive Plot Event would be an added bonus -- something unique that Gaia users are willing to help develop and see come into being!

my_sad_ending Pirate Captain Sushi I put forth an idea similar to this that nobody in the zOMG forums seems to pay attention to.
err unfortunately doing anything in zOMG takes a hell of a lot of scripts and art and if you know anything about either u can understand why the administration would look past this idea... if it is an rp they may allow it but as far as zOMG or even towns go... its a big no no... trust me when I say this I am an animator and have worked on virtual reality worlds before and they can be a pain Yeah, this was why it wasn't so much a zOMG idea as an idea for the site as a whole... My idea was essentially a war between vampires and humans (well, living beings) that would rage across the site as a serious plotline. I posted what I had of this idea here in the Durem Vampire Siblings guild forum, and am seeking feedback on it (PM me with ideas if you're not a member of that guild & don't want to apply; I'll repost them in that thread). I agree, though--let's see if the dev's will carry through on their promise of new plots before we do anything beyond discussing and developing our own.

my_sad_ending yes I understand though. if it looks official and masterfully organized then it it is bound to catch attention. This is why I started threads both for my Vampires Versus Humans plot/game idea and my New Mecha-Only Town idea in the appropriate locations--to get feedback and ideas so that a bunch of us Gaians can then present the finished idea to the development team for approval. (That, and I figured that they would be more likely to take an idea seriously if we've done a good portion of the design work already instead of simply starting a thread in the Feedback forum saying "Hey, Admins! I wanna see such-and-such!")

However, I think introducing another Interactive Plot Event would be an added bonus -- something unique that Gaia users are willing to help develop and see come into being! YES! EXACTLY!! This is why the two major ideas I had (mentioned above) became threads in the appropriate guild forums--as I mentioned above, I believe that the dev's and admin's would be more likely to listen to us players if we came to them with a well-developed idea, effectively saving them a lot of work. (This is also why I started the "Earn Your Keep" petition below--to create a symbiotic relationship between us players and the PTBs that run Gaia!) I think it would be cool to see not only more good plots, but also more subplots created and developed by US and implemented by the PTBs--not to mention that it would ease more than a few ruffled feathers ('scuse the mixed metaphor) that I've seen in different threads to the effect of "Gaia Admins don't listen to us any more!". I'd volunteer for nothing more than seeing my "name" (i.e. my avatar's name) listed on a "volunteer developers" list somewhere and the satisfaction that I helped contribute something good to Gaia. (Hells, for that matter, I'd give out my IRL name--not something I like doing that often--for a "Gaia Crew" list!) I agree that there's a lot of untapped talent here on Gaia that could be turned into a valuable resource for the PTBs to utilize both to cut down their own work load somewhat and to enhance the whole Gaia experience. As a secondary goal after good plots, why don't we start agitating for the 'symbiosis' I mentioned above?
