Ialluth gave Arioth a surprised look. The mottled green crooned softly, absolutely delighted the little gold was actually apologizing. She understood babies did silly things all the time and rarely felt any remorse for them; she'd never hold it against the young Queen, even if the offense could have been considered grave. But an apology? Ialluth shuffled her wings and crooned again, her gaze fixed on Arioth as she cuddled against her rider. I appreciate the apology, little Queen. That is very mature of you. I appreciate it greatly, as does Mine.

F'sey, meanwhile, had watched K'lan leave and had listened to B'lin's apology. Stunted, but the Weyrlingmaster wasn't about to toss it away. He didn't like apologizing himself, he'd take each and everyone one for what it was worth. "Apology accepted. Now-" The redhead was cut-off as the boy continued speaking. Raising eyebrows, F'sey rubbed the bridge of his nose and sighed. One would think he was trying to assemble a new wing, not feed newly hatched dragons. On that note, he was rather surprised all the dragons had behaved so well thus far (with the exception of Arioth, and she apologized), especially while waiting for their meals. Good on them! Maybe there was something to be said for Cheoth's children, after all.

"Alright. Now that we've established that-" Established what, exactly, he wasn't sure, but something had certainly been established. "-I think your dragons would appreciate it if we could finish the hair cutting with no further incident so we can move onto feeding, eh? They've been very paitient, especially for babies. That, or you have exceptional control over those little monsters." The pet name was affectionate, of course. He highly doubted any rider would be able to curb their dragons needs within the first day and he really didn't want to push them any further. No need for a second riot.

Ialluth was completely distracted, instead making delighted little noises as one of the browns spoke with her. Hello, little Brown! I am Ialluth! You are so very sweet, wanting to be nice to Yours! But Mine wasn't going to make them all...hairless. Did you ask Yours if he wanted to look like Arioth's? Even Ialluth knew Hers had given Rinfala a terrible haircut. Being nice is a very, very good thing, but sometimes you have to ask. Sometimes riders have very silly opinions, she informed Ormeteth, trying her hardest to make sure she didn't injure the adorable brown's feelings. He was so thoughtful! Ialluth just didn't think His would appreciate looking like a half-eaten wherrie...

"J'ken! Nice of you to join us. You've missed all the fun!" F'sey put on his wickedest smile and motioned to boy over. "Just in time for your haircut." He turned to address the rest of the weyrlings. "Things will go a little slower, since H'dra had to go and take care of Condoroth. You'll have to be paitient while I go through this, unless one of you wants to help out?"

The greenrider let his gaze linger on B'lin, half-expecting the young bronzerider to leap into the leadership position as soon as it was offered.

If by 'leap' F'sey meant sit quietly and stare at him, then B'lin was all over that. No matter if he felt admiration or disdain for the Weyrlingmaster at this point (he would be thinking about that later), B'lin would say the man was really something. In his mind. Where no one could hear it. The behavior demonstrated this far hadn't been proof that, usually, B'lin's voice would never leave it's mental safeguard with so many people around. The quiet ones ended up the most trouble making sometimes.

The thing known as spite didn't register on Xanthoth's roster of things he was capable of feeling. That funny little thing called a challenge did, and when F'sey looked at them like that, that's exactly how he took it. He would never have lied to the green. F'sey probably was smart and probably deserved to be where he was. But looking at His like that without proving themselves? Oh ho. No, sir! This was not acceptable.

B'linmine, you have no hair so we have nothing to do while this is happening. You need to help him. We will show him we are not all disagreements. You are a good hair cutter!

Absolutely not.

Wrong answer! Not only was this a matter of pride, Xanthoth was hungry. Really hungry. If the faster they got this done was directly tied to how fast this was done and over with... Then B'lin would do what he had to. Even if Xanthoth had to give him a little push.

Maybe a big push. An actual push.

B'lin hadn't been that surprised when Xanthoth moved behind him and gave his rider a good, powerful shove. These things were strong for babies!

"...I'll... help you, sir," B'lin mumbled. "If you'd like. As an apology."

Why did he keep getting himself into these things?

Good, B'linmine! We are doing well!

Oh, right. That was why.

When Tanith had first looked to his brother, he hadn't expected it would result in… this. He realizes now he should have, though; it's just like Ormeteth to act so juvenile at a time like this, when they are supposed to be listening. To be behaving maturely, and treating Ialluth and Hers with respect. Even if the others are not, they should. His rambunctious sibling and him included ─ not that he'd ever act anything less.

The brown's features as he looks over his new 'companion' are more disdainful than they are impassive. What is that clutchmate of his doing, anyway? Ormeteth, he states, simply, tone surprisingly even… Despite the way he seems to attempt straightening (though his pose had been quite proper already), as if he can compensate for his clutchsib's impropriety by overextending his own decency.

Tanith? Ash doesn't dare do more than cast his dragon a questioning glance ─ he'd rather not get tangled up in what seems to be settling commotion ─ but their new acquaintance isn't easily overlooked. Not with his wiggling and chirping the way he is.

The dragonet gives the best 'I have nothing to do with this' expression he can manage. This is Ormeteth, he explains, looking briefly between them, but unwilling to stake further claim on their relationship. 'And I am not sour,' his look seems to say, though he doesn't deign to voice it. He has better things to do than argue with his brother.

You will get Ours into trouble. Tanith's chiding is unusually delicate; more a suggestion than a chastising demand, like he worries for both of them, and for Theirs. Still, he doesn't budge, maintaining his regality.

Grinning subtly, Ash'ran checks the urge to give his dragonet a fond scratch, and instead shrugs an apology to the one he recalls being Ormeteth's rider. While there isn't much he can do to prevent this… well, whatever it is, he does hope nothing bad comes of it. Awkwardness and trouble included. There's been more than enough of both without their adding to incident.

The moment Varth saw Xanthoth edge his rider forward, his eyes swirled with a slightly irritated orange. That the Bronze encouraging his rider to help would get him his meal faster seemed lost on him- he was offended that the Bronze assumed that he and His should be taking the position of leaders. :You should help, Mine! We were not being bad, we should get to help! It is not right for them to get to help when we were good!: The Brown rustled his wings irritably, and nosed A'bri. :Be helpful.:

... Right. Because he wanted to draw more attention just then, really he did. Varth, however, did not seem willing to take no for an answer, and it was a fairly harmless request. He could at least try, that might make the big Brown feel better, and there was no harm in asking. ...He hoped. Really hoped.

"If there is a third pair of shears, sir, I can help as well," he said, taking a single step forward so that he'd be more visible. "I don't think I need a trim, I could be useful." Of course, he'd be just fine staying out of sight, but Varth apparently would not. And really, given that so far, the Brown was ignoring Arioth and sitting calmly, A'bri didn't think that indulging him by asking would be such a bad thing.

J'ken inwardly cringed at the sound of his name, though he made sure to straighten his posture and look the weyrlingmaster right in the eye, stiff and formal, like the teacher-student relationship should be. He didn't like that tone of voice, nor did he particularly enjoy the look he was receiving, but he supposed it was all deserved, just as much as the butcher-cut he felt he was about to receive.

I don't think it will be a butcher cut, Bayarth intoned cheerfully, I think this is a good opportunity for you not to look like a herdbeast. It is most unattractive, Mine. His tone bore nothing but amusement, and yet J'ken still felt outed by his blue's last comment.

You're the one who picked the Candidate with a herdbeast cut, J'ken said sullenly as he began his walk towards the weyrlingmaster, weaving through the crowd of other weyrlings and dragons.

And hair can always be cut, responded the dragon, his eyes whirling blue-green. I wouldn't worry about it: the only thing that'll do is make wrinkles on your forehead, and when your hair's cut everyone will see them. Also most unattractive.

J'ken decided that Bayarth was enjoying this entirely too much, but before he could comment he found himself before the weyrlingmaster, wondering if he should crouch down so that the man could actually feasibly reach his head. "Sorry for being tardy," said the weyrling, who all but fidgeted in the uncomfortable place of the troublemaker. "It won't happen again, sir."

H'dra looked clearly surprised that K'lan had not only followed him to B'lin but felt the need to eavesdrop on what he had intended to be a private conversation. And she had been talking about manners and respect? Everyone knew that when you lowered your voice the conversation was meant to be between the people closest. Eavesdropping was something that the Nandeli girl did. He hadn't honestly thought anyone else did it like she did. Still, F'sey seemed to have everything back in hand, and he breathed a quiet sigh of relief when B'lin turned back to the class. Good. As much as he would have loved to teach two riders in private what F'sey had to teach an entire class, he really couldn't have fed them well enough and they would have gone to bed hungry. That was not the way to start lessons.

The bluerider gave the class a final glance to make sure nothing was going to explode before deciding it was time to follow K'lan and her green. He didn't relish the thought of spending time with her after she had tried to get in the way of his helping hand. 'I will not think ill of anyone. Everyone has their reasons. She has reasons for what she does and I will not judge them,' he reminded himself sharply, and straightened his shoulders. There was a green dragon to take care of, and H'dra would not let any personal problems get in the way of that. With that thought in mind he set off after K'lan.

"I will stay and keep Ialluth company." Dievath settled himself down, eyes blue once again as he watched the little dragonets.

F'sey snorted a little. "Not as an apology. To help the process go faster." He didn't require more apologies, B'lin's word was enough (for now). "If you really don't want to, I suppose you don't have to. But in the case that Xanthoth insists..." And he might, the Weyrlingmaster thought to himself, the way the little bronze had all but knocked his rider into the center of attention. "You'll be needing these." He handed B'lin the pair of shears H'dra had abandoned when he went off with K'lan and Condoroth.

He went about J'ken's hair cut quickly (but not without getting the lad to crouch a little first, how mortifying), not butchering it as he had others, and eyed A'bri as the brownrider approached. Oh, now the volunteers were crawling out of the woodwork, were they? Fighting the urge to roll his eyes, he nodded towards B'lin. "If he so declines, you can take his place." And he continued, finishing off J'ken's hair cut and waving the boy off, ignoring his apology.

"Next."

Oh, now that just wasn't fair, putting him on the line like that. B'lin took the shears and had no qualms about his would-be work. How many hair cuts had he given his brothers over the years? It was him or his mother, and there was a reason B'lin favored being bald now. Hint: It wasn't fashion.

For a few seconds he stood there, awkwardly wondering which was the best choice. On one hand, he had told the Weyrlingmaster he would do it. Was it of bad character to not follow through? On the other, if A'bri just wanted some brownie points, was it really any better to deny him? After all, he was the one who had made a scene, started trouble. Er, well, followed trouble in K'lan's footsteps, anyway. Point was, if anyone deserved those points it wasn't him.

'But in the case Xanthoth insists...' F'sey had said.

Xanthoth, I'm going to let him do it, and I don't want to hear anything about it.

It is fine, B'linmine. But if he is slow I expect you to take them back from him. I would like to eat. All this talk of not eating has made me very hungry.

One snort and a few steps later, B'lin was standing before A'bri and handing off the shears wordlessly. What would he say? 'Congratulations'? 'Good luck'? Silence was often the best policy.

Augh. He'd certainly not meant to steal the task, but apparently nothing was going to be straightforward today. He gave B'lin a slightly apologetic smile, accepting the shears. "Thanks."

Stalking over to sit next to him, Varth looked entirely more comfortable than A'bri did. :This is better. You should not be standing still when there is work to do. And this way, I will eat sooner. You can cut hair quickly, can't you?:

"Quick enough," A'bri murmured, trying not to disrupt things while he motioned for someone to come forward. "Used to for a friend back home. She liked it a bit longer, but I think I can manage quick, even, and short."

Ormeteth would be temporarily and effectively distracted from attempting to bat at his sibling when he realized the older green was talking to him, all but tripping over himself as he quickly turned his head to peer in her direction. Oh? Oh! No, I did not think of that, Mine is sometimes not very willing to try new things! I am Ormeteth. Mine-- And he turned to eye his grumpy rider now, tail twitching with though. Do you want to be hairless and more dragon like, like me? Like Arioth's rider!

Not on your sharding life. And don't bother them. He snapped, but Ormeteth knew there was no edge there.

You were right, Ialluth, though I think it would be good for him... The brown sidled even closer to his paler brother, clearly excited as he batted and pranced about the other. I will not get Them in trouble! And if I do, then surely you will be able to get Them out of it, because you would be very good at that.

Sitting in front of the other with amusement, he peered up at Ash'ran instead now, clearly curious. Mine, you should come say hello to His! The rider snorted incredulously, his hard face strained in what was supposed to be apology as the other man caught his eye. Trust his dragon...

He watched silently as other boys stepped up to help with hair cutting, and mercilessly, they were less extreme than the Queenrider's had been. G'ran was thankful to just not be bald by the end of it. Ormeteth was disappointed.

One by one, F'sey and his new assistant neatly trimmed everyone's hair (well, everyone who needed a trim), hurrying the process along the best he could without anymore botched haircuts. As much as he wanted to...no. There had been more than enough drama today (sharding teenagers). With that out of the way, they could feed the baby dragons; surely they were complaining by now.

"Alright, we've got a meal right here for everyone. You need to make sure your dragons chew; they seem to get exciting and forget that at this age. You also need to make sure they don't overeat. Again, they tend to get excited and make poor choices at this age. Not that they know any better. So it's up to you to be firm with them."

F'sey started to hand out the meal after that, starting with Varth.

[[ And we can wrap up here and start the next lesson whoo~ ]]
