When I was very little, before I started Kindergarten (younger than five), we lived in a house that was just absolutely horrid. Not in appearance mind you. My younger sister and myself shared the bedroom on the second floor and refused to sleep in it. Our parents would put us to sleep in our beds at night and would wake up to finding us curled up with pillows and blankets on the living room couch. After a while they finally gave in and moved our things downstairs.. We only used the bathroom on the second floor after that. The reason for this being is because there was definitely something living in the walls on the second floor. And to quote my father, "I wouldn't bet on it being mice, either."

Most recently, the last house I lived in was three stories, the attic being the third story. If someone had taken the time to finish the floors, insulate and wall the space, it would've actually been big enough for a room of some sort. Terribly hot in the summer, warm during the cold winter. Drawback of course would be the hundreds and hundreds of dead flies and Asian Lady bugs that would accumulate over the fall and winter. Yuck! Had to use a vacuum to get them all.

Well, there were also grey squirrels up there. These animal removal companies have a whole battery of things they do to get rid of them. Ironically, they got rid of a whole bunch of stuff I didn't even realize I had, but were having a hard time getting rid of the one critter I heard in the first place that made me call them.

When Squirrel Man came back yesterday, he put traps in the attic. This hadn't worked before with my straggler. Apparently, he had some food source up there and wasn't desperate enough to take the trap. Then last night, about 10 minutes to 11:00, the cats and I heard a big "Snap!" up there. Took me a minute to figure out what I'd heard. Haven't heard anything up there since. I'm guessing the problem is now, finally, solved.

The sad part is, even though it's unpleasant having something living over your head like that, I'd gotten kind of used to it, and now I feel bad. cry

I felt like that when a girl I really didn't like left our school - especially since she thought I was a friend of hers.

Yes, TMO, it is confusing. I also am confused. No mice after all. Squirrels, but they left when the man gave them an opportunity to. Squirrels do that, apparently. But rats will not leave, and thus must be trapped. And I had those too. There are disadvantages to living in the woods, apparently.

Anyway, I hear no more noises, but there are traps to empty. I will let you know the final chapter (I hope) this evening.
