'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogroves, And the mome raths outgrabe Cheshire turned into her cat form as she neared the castle of the Queen of Hearts. She leaped up into the trees and proceeded to make her way to the palace. Once to the gates, she found a branch that was close enough to where she could jump to the wall. "If its really that easy to get in, she must tighten her security..." She said before landing on the stone wall. She looked around and found a perfect spot to make her entrance, it was a haystack, there for no known reason. Smiling, she cascaded into the soft hay and ran to the palace itself. Once Cheshire found a way in, scurring past the feet of guards, maids, and the like, she turned back into her human form, plucking hay from her clothes and hair.. "Should have just jumped to the ground...would have too if I knew what a mess the hay would be..."She rounded the corner to find the White Rabbit waiting for entrance to the throne room. " The dear 'ol Queen of Hearts keeping you waiting now?..." She stated, continuing to pull the hay from her attire. " Must be in a terrible mood then, or she simply doesn't want to see you...." Cheshire commented as she leaned up against a nearby pillar. `Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.'"

I'm late, I'm late, For a very important date. The White Rabbit "Could be," he sighed, sitting down on the steps. "I never know what's up with her these days, shifting from one mood to the next. Like you, almost," White glanced over with a small smile. "Hay? You could have walked right up, Miss Cheshire. Nobody would have tried to stop you, but I guess cats are just curious like that, eh?" Sighing again, he leaned back and stared up at the night sky. "At least this time it's her that's behind schedule, not me. I really do need to get some rest soon," he fought a yawn, "Staying up this late certainly isn't very healthy, don't you think?" Getting up and walking a bit to keep himself awake, he ambled over to where Cheshire leaned against a pillar. Plucking a stray stalk of hay from her hair, he chuckled, looking down at her. "So, my dear Miss Cheshire, what brings you to this lovely place? Surely it was not to see the Queen," he glanced back at her coyly, "Or was it perhaps that you were worried about a certain little rabbit?"
No time to say "Hello". Goodbye. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

'Twas brilig, and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogroves, And the mome raths outgrabe Cheshire looked at him quizzically. "Mood swings? Me? Nah, I either lose interest, or my attention is caught by something else, or I feel the desire to change the subject..." She noted with a shrug. As for the hay, she had an explanaton for that. "I know that I wouldn't have an issue getting through, I just tend to try and find the weak spots in security...that way it gets improved, and makes it harder for the opposing force..I would do the same for the lady in white, for it causes trouble on both sides..stricter rules would be placed, and they would have to be enforced at all costs..."She rambled Cheshire directed the conversation to his next question. "Staying up this late might be detrimental to you, but not I, for you should know, I am nocturnal..as most cats are, and I survive off of cat naps..." Cheshire explained, looking up at him, debating what she should say to his last bit, in result she bit her lip. "As to why I am here, it is the same as to why I would be any place else..to cause mischief of course, and even if I was worried about a particular rabbit, why should I admit it? I would lose some of my mystery, and I can't have that...Although Lady Lilliana isn't doing so well, summoning those from the realm of Alice...very dangerous stuff there......" She added the last bit to distract from her somewhat revealing statement about her feelings for him. Cheshire noticed that he did look quite tired indeed, if the queen didn't stop working him so hard, something might need to be done to fix that...something mischievious. `Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.'"

I'm late, I'm late, For a very important date. The White Rabbit "Lose some of your mystery?" Smiling faintly, he sat down by her feet and leaned against the pillar as well. "Well now, we can't have the infamous Miss Cheshire lose any of her mystery now, can we?" Glancing up at her, eyes shining playfully, he bumped his head against her thigh. "Well," he murmured, leaning against her leg, "You're here now. And I enjoy your company quite a bit, Miss Cheshire." Stretching his arms with a yawn, White stared at the double red doors beyond which awaited the Queen. "If her Highness doesn't allow me entrance soon, I fear that I may fall asleep here waiting for her call." Toying with a string on his robe, he looked back up at Cheshire. "So," he began, a serious tinge in his voice, "What of the girl? She looked eerily similar to that Alice, from ages ago. I suppose the Lady has summoned her to our realm to take down the Queen again, seeing as how she failed all those years?" Resting his hands on his knees, White sighed. "And of course, I will be appointed the ugly duty of killing her and presenting her head to the Queen, as always. Am I a mere blade, to be used, wiped, and sheathed? You know, I'm concerned about the Queen's health these days. Always staying up at night, making all those decisions. If only she would relax a bit, I'm sure she would find herself in better health."
No time to say "Hello". Goodbye. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

She gave a laugh when his head bumped against her thigh. Taking her hand, she ruffled his hair, knowing how he liked to keep every hair in place. " Well, it's what makes me, me, my mystery that is, wouldn't you agree?..." She asked, slumping down to sit beside him. "Don't worry, if she finally decides to answer, and you have fallen asleep, I will gladly wake you up..." She said with a smile. Cheshire processed what White was rambling on about the new human to Wonderland. "Well, she is definately not Alice. Her name is Allison, so she might not be able to defeat the Queen of Hearts..." Cheshire sighed when he compared himself to a blade, only to be used over and over again."You aren't just a blade, you know, not to me at least... " She admitted, rather quietly, not sure if he would hear her, while at the same time, she hoped he would, and hoped he didn't . She picked at the remaining few pieces of hay that clung to her clothes, keeping her head down, face turned away from him, for she was afraid that she would be blushing if he looked. `Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. I'm late, I'm late, For a very important date. The White Rabbit "I'm not a blade to you?" White raised an eyebrow at the cat sitting beside him. "Well of course I'm not a blade to you," he chuckled, "I hold complete allegiance and obedience to my Queen." Seeing her blush, a quizzical look came over his face. "What's the matter with you now, you're not sick, are you? Well I suppose if you are, you could go see my brother. He's always been good at those sorts of things. Not me though," smiling, White looked away into the night sky. "All I've ever been good for is killing and being late. Which is fine, you know, seeing who I serve. And that's the life I've known, and that I'll ever know." Getting up to his feet and meticulously rearranging his hair, he strode over to the door and listened inside. "No sound," White muttered under his breath. "Ah, well. I suppose she might have fallen asleep." Looking back to the sitting Cheshire, he smiled. "Well, seeing as how the queen is sleeping, I'll follow her example and do the same, I suppose." Gathering his robe about him, he began descending the steps back down from the royal reception chamber.
No time to say "Hello". Goodbye. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

One of the lingering servants knelled beside her, his head bent low out of respect for the woman. Ekaterina hardly noticed him in her deep, analytic contemplation, her mind had other things to be worrying about, and answering doors that could lead to her anger rising was not in that list of things. Amongst her insightful day dreaming, the Queen imagined herself in a different setting, a different world altogether, how glorious it would have been, not to have been hated, which was making this whole, ruling Wonderland prospect much more difficult. "If only everyone could understand, how difficult it is to make them, however, that this is for the best." Her voice broke the unbridled silence after having listened to the door knock on a multitude of occasions, or perhaps not, her migraine was at its worst at the moment, the sound may have just been buzzing about her head like an angry Buzzypus.
Again, the guard stayed silent, knowing his place, and Ekaterina would reward him with allowing his existence to further in this life. Ekaterina glanced at the door, White was not alone, and perhaps that is what kept her from opening the door. Or perhaps she was too disgusted to see anyone to fathom a conversation, or at least one lasting more than a few moments when her mind grew bored of such a thing, and left without the manners of a lady of her stature, and excusing herself politely. "You may give him entrance. Tell him, come alone. And to let his companion leave immediately."
The Queen's right hand lay just beneath her chin in an unorderly fashion, the other resting lazily over the arm rest, looking like a dying willow tree, its branches hanging lower than ever, holding onto its last thread of existence by a mere adolescent twine. The guard answered the call without so much as asking for further instruction. Opening the first door widely to White, of whom he had known for quite a while during his time in the Queen's service. The other, the infamous Chesire Cat, but she played a strange role in this entire story, having claimed no side, it was strange to see her mingling with White as if smitten since birth. "The Queen has allowed you entrance, Mr. White, however, she has cordially asked that you come alone." ▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱▲▱▲▱ "If you like me, than I have done my job right, if you love me than I have done my job perfect. All mimsy were the borogroves, And the mome raths outgrabe Cheshire furrowed her brow, for that is not what she wanted him to take the statement as. When she watched him start to leave, she leaped up and began to follow. Only did she stop when she heard that the door had finally been opened to him, and that it was requested that she leave. " Good-bye dear Rabbit, our paths shall cross again...." She promised as she turned to make her leave, not wanting to mingle. She missed her trees and was going to turn into a cat as soon as she reached the forest. Cheshire wound her way through the throng of guards, servants, and heads on pikes til she found the gate. She waltzed out and started at a run to the forest, pausing once she could no longer see the castle. She sat down atop a giant mushroom to talk to herself. "It seems as if I cannot be obvious with Rabbit. For if I am, he will think that I am being cryptic, or meaning something else. Oh, woe is me, for the curse of the cheshire cat is to always be mysterious!.." She said, falling flat on her back. She found that the mushroom was quite comfortable. She looked up through the branches to look at the sky. "I must do something that he wont consider a joke, for my words are quite misleading at times..." She stated, as if calling for a plan of action ."Yes, that is what I must do, but for now, I must rest... " Cheshire determined, for she had been running about for awhile now, and she needed to rest. `Well, then,' the Cat went on, `you see, a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad.'"

I'm late, I'm late, For a very important date. "Cordially?" White raised an eyebrow with a slight chuckle. "Don't mince words. You and I both know that cordial is not in the Queen's vocabulary. Run along now, there's a good fellow." As the servant scurried away, White winked at Cheshire, and entered the long hall, at the end of which sat the Queen. "Well now, Ekaterina, how are we feeling this lovely evening?" Kneeling briefly, he ambled along the cold polished floor to the base of the stairs leading up to her throne. "Somebody had a temper earlier," he glanced at the shards on the floor, remnants of beauty that had been. "The assignment you left me has been completed, right on schedule, not a single survivor left, as you specified. Is there anything else you would like me to have done?" He sounded bored, sitting on the steps leaning over backwards glancing at the Queen.
"I know you're probably not interested in a chat, so let's keep it strictly business, shall we?" Walking up the steps, White leaned nonchalantly over the back of the chair, sniffing slightly upon seeing the Queen's figure. "Have you been eating well? You seem a bit... sickly, if you will." Genuine concern tinged his voice, as his lips frowned slightly. "But I suppose that isn't really my place to judge, is it?" Sighing again, White ran a gentle finger through her dark glossy hair, smoothing it a bit before sitting on an armrest. "So, talk away, dear Queen, and I shall leave you to your rest."
No time to say "Hello". Goodbye. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.

Only a few knew the name, White being one of them, her husband, where so ever he was, had been the other. It was almost painful to hear it roll off of White's tongue so freely, there was malcontent in the very syllable, sounding almost in sheer displeasure. Though malicious, there was a certain comfort she felt when in the presence of those who served her and her ideals. It pained her to think that she was so despised by everyone that not a single force on this earth was acted nonchalant in her company, yet their minds were wishing that death would be more befitting than stomaching a council. "But I can over look this misdemeanor. Your news brings a smile to my face. Perhaps the first in many days. You should commend yourself, you saved your own life."
White. Such a strange being, though in her employ, it was not certain if his true loyalties lay within her grasp. Not everyone who held a job always enjoyed working for their boss, White was no different. Next to that stupid, wretched White Lady protecting the last of Wonderland not poisoned by her power, she was almost certain that White would be the first to turn on her if given the right position to do so. But that was too harsh a thought, there were many that would commit to driving a sword through he body without so much as a second thought; given an ultimatum or not. Ekaterina glanced back towards her servant's quarters and found it absent of any and all life. Ekaterina watched White out of the corner of her eye, following his movements almost to a fault. When one is at the center of the greatest crime syndicate known to Wonderland, then you learned that watching you back was of the greatest importance. Whether in the presence of followers or not. And she was not about to let White out of her view for anything.
It was then that Ekaterina sighed, taking in a deep breath and releasing it just as haggardly as before, there was a hint of annoyance, not at her faithful White, but at the sheer fact that she had yet to trust the only servant she would allow in her company so relaxed and composed, not kissing her feet to the point of her toes poking at their intestines. Some time, she would have to adjust her feelings towards White, and give him more credit than presently allowed. "Perhaps not. Maybe a chat is what I need in order to ordain my sovereignty." Sitting up, the Queen adjusted her clothes and crossed her legs and the knee, keeping one hand rested unequivocally under her chin, the other, however, was fiddling with the ribbons on her corset, listening to the crackle of the fire in the background. Now that they were alone, the room had retained its silent composure, which she was not altogether used too, just yet.
Before Ekaterina could answer, White gently rid her hair of an unwanted tangle, allowing it to lay with the rest of her ebony locks, and sat within reaching distance at her side. This was a most comfortable meeting that the two had ever shared. Ekaterina did not move away at the touch, no did she force him from her chair. He had earned his right to be beside her, having been at least faithful up until this very fabricated moment. "As for your completed mission, I should reward you. However, having not ever done such a task, I have not the slightest on how to reward you. That, I shall leave up to you." To finish the conversation, Ekaterina sat up, tuning her head ever slightly to meet face to face with White. "Do I appear as hideous as I feel?" Evil. Hating. And unjust, a female she still was, and if she looked horrible, it somewhat pained her. Ekaterina prided herself on her beauty, equal to no one. ▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱ ▲▱▲▱▲▱ "If you like me, than I have done my job right, if you love me than I have done my job perfect. I'm late, I'm late, For a very important date. "No reward is... necessary, my Queen." He gazed into the fireplace, faint orange light reflecting off his face. White didn't mind the assignments he was left by the Queen. At least they gave him a sense of... purpose, in his life, something that domestic duties never imparted to him. Hearing the Queen's cold voice, his heart saddened a bit, and he turned to glance down at her. "The first in many days? Oh my Queen, I am humbled that I can bring a smile to such a beautiful face. But here an angel in a golden bed lies all within. Deliver me the key, and here do I choose." Yes, that was his choice. And he would choose so again gladly, if offered the choice. Some thought that he would gladly turn on the Queen given the chance, but that thought had fled from his mind the first time he had laid eyes on her when he had come calling. "Such beauty deserves worshipers," he muttered lightly, turning his head once more away, "And more care than this one poor Rabbit can provide, it saddens my heart to say." Snapping out of his reverie, he pulled out his watch and glanced at it with displeasure. "I was late, you say?" His brows creased together, as White let a sigh escape. "Well I'll just have to be earlier next time. Will there be a next time?"
White smirked, as he glanced fondly down upon the Queen's face. How easy it is to read someone, when one has served them for so long. The emotions flickering across the Queen's face, doubt, fear, distrust, were all as clear to him as words on a book. Leaning down slowly until his lips were at her ear, White gently whispered. "My Queen thinks that I will betray her? That I would drive a blade into her fair breast the moment I am able?" Frowning slightly, the Rabbit continued leaning over her, distracted in his thoughts for a moment. She does not trust me, he thought sadly. After all those years of service. "Have I not served you well, though the ages, my Queen? Have I not been faithful when you were with power, and have I not been just as faithful when you have fallen from the Wheel of Fortune? I have remained in your loyal service even before the first Alice, my Queen. Judge me not by doubts of what the future may hold, but rather by the precedent set by my past actions, would you not?"
Gently taking a lock of hair between his fingers, White brushed it to his lips, leaning on her shoulder comfortably. "I have said it once, my Queen, and I shall say it again. No reward is necessary for serving you." Strange, how he felt a strange fondness, almost love for the woman upon whose shoulder he laid his head, and in her hands he completely placed his life wholeheartedly. For without the Queen, what would I be? A blade without its wielder, lost and without purpose, doomed to gather rust and corrode? The Queen understood him, and his simple needs, more than anyone else in Wonderland. And White tried to return that favor by serving her to the best of his ability.
"Do you appear hideous?" Removing himself from her side, he knelt before her, knees painfully pressed against the hard ground, and gazed unwaveringly into her cold eyes. "My Queen, do not say such unfavorable words. You are..." He swallowed, suddenly overcome by a strange feeling in his chest towards the woman he served. "You are beautiful," he murmured, eyes never moving from hers. "I say it in such simple words, because flattery would never do justice to that which it praises, and has given up all hope. I only ask you to end my miserable life now, if you sense a lie." And beautiful she was, with flawless, smooth skin, an elegant nose, lush, red lips that were always slightly pouting, a refined jawline, high, elegant cheekbones. And if one ventured further down... White found himself flushing slightly at the indecency of the thoughts he was having about his sovereign, and as he became painfully aware of the pressure on his knees, a slight blush spread across his pale cheeks.
No time to say "Hello". Goodbye. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late.
