Demi peeked up at her as the other female delivered her curt response. The young bobtail could see her visible displeasure with the topic and flattened her own ears a bit more. When Mir turned to smile at her, she nodded mutely and let it drop. Her nose trembled with the delicious scents of seafood and she decided that it wasn't important at the moment. Her paws picked up speed slightly as they neared the food stands, and her eyes lit up. "Lets see... I think I can smell tuna over that way.. and octopus? It all smells so good!" She mewed excitedly, slowing for a moment to lift her nose at the yummy scents wafting down from one such food cart.

Mir smiled, her pupils delight washing out her momentary unhappiness. “Ooh, octopus sounds good. Listen, Demi-san… I’m sorry for not really answering your question earlier. It’s not really a pleasant story, and I think we should focus on your training and not my past, for now. I do think I shall most likely tell you later, so the subject is not entirely closed.” Mir gave a small grin, coming to a stop under the stall where the smell of the octopus was wafting from. “I would ask you to be patient until then.” Mir looked at Demi seriously, wanting her pupil to know that she wasn’t shutting her out.

Pausing by her mentor near the Tako stand, Demi gave a sheepish smile to the older cat. "It's alright Mir-sensei! I think... maybe it was a little rude of me to ask when you seemed so tense to begin with." Tipping her head a little to the side, her smile widened just a bit, "I'll still listen when you wish to tell me later though! For now, let's get some of this yummy food, kay?"

As the young girl was used to doing, she slipped a couple of larger silver bells from her pocket, each making a low, heavy ringing as if muffled by liquid. Smoke bombs she happened upon at a strange little shop that specialized in magic, comedy, and gags while out looking for clothes one evening. She fingered them lightly, glancing up at the Singapura for direction and cue.

Mir smiled, tipping her head to the side. “Sounds good, Demi-chan.” She replied, the more familiar honorific slipping out unconsciously. Eyeing the silver bells in Demi’s hand, Mir could smell the various chemicals inside them. “Smoke bombs, huh?” Mir glanced around them, taking in the surroundings. Looking over the small fridge where some fish were being kept cold, Mir eyed the generator at the back of it which was emitting a low hum. “Toss a few over there underneath the generator, it’ll look like something’s wrong with it. Then we’ll grab some food.” Mir said, pointing at the particular place.

Demi nodded seriously and flicked her ears back before lobbing the round balls at the place indicated by her mentor. Through practice with them, she had pretty good accuracy, and with a couple of startling pops, pinkish gray smoke billowed up from the vicinity of the refrigerating generator. On cue, several of the surrounding humans jumped and began talking in hurried, surprised tones, gathering to look at the smoking generator. The man running the stand cursed lowly and stooped over the machinery, his hands out as he stared at the smoke uncertainly. Demi stifled a laugh and bounced up to the top of the stand while the people were distracted. Food still sizzled on hot plates and several half-started dishes were set aside in Styrofoam containers. Batting at the food gingerly, the bobtail quickly scooped the steaming octopus into two containers and nudged them towards the edge of the cart for the Singapura below to catch. She then wiggled her rump and dropped from it herself, nodding brightly to Mirelle before casting another quick glance at the people. "We should get going, nya!" She mewed softly, her heart racing in her chest. The rush of stealing food always excited the young girl, and she grinned from ear to ear and as she reached to take one of the containers from her mentor.

Mir watched her pupil toss the smoke bombs and dart up the table. She stayed on the ground, watching the men curse over the generator. Looking up as Demi came back over the table, Mir caught the steaming containers of food the bobtail dropped down to her. She nodded, handing one of the containers back to Demi before darting off through the crowd; weaving through legs and under stalls. Eventually she burst back out onto the Plaza and darted into one of the many side alleys. Chucking to herself, Mir set the container on an empty cardboard box. Her breathing was returning to normal, and her tail swished back and forth happily at the decent haul of food.

Demi bounded off after her mentor, carefully cradling her food. The humans seemed to take little notice of the small food thieves, but the excited grin remained on the Bobtail's face anyway. Suddenly, the path before them burst open as they reentered the plaza. They skirted the fountain again before slipping into an alley. Noone pursued them, much to Demi's relief and disappointment. Placing her food next to her mentor's the young girl panted and worked on controlling her breath again. "That was pretty fun..." She mewed finally, beaming up at Mirelle, "I needed that!"

Grabbing her food again, Demi sunk into a seated position on her knees and set the container in her lap. "Itadakimasu!" She mewed brightly, clapping her hands together, then popped open the container and tipped her head to the side. "Oops... I forgot to grab chop sticks..."

Mir smiled at her out of breath pupil, picking up her own container and sitting down opposite Demi. “Itadakimasu.” She repeated, a little calmer than Demi had, clapping and bowing her head briefly. Coming up, she grinned. “It would make since to keep a pair of chopsticks on me, but I really wouldn’t know where to put them.” She scoffed a bit, shaking her head at her chosen outfit. “I swear, one of these days I’m going to start wearing something with pockets. Some days it’s just a bit ridiculous.” Smiling to herself, Mir reached in and grabbed a tiny octopus, popping it into her mouth. Chewing it for a good long while, Mir swallowed and laughed. “These things are always so chewy, no matter how you prepare them.

Demi giggled at her mentor and looked down at her own clothing. At least Mirelle's looked nice. "Yea, pockets might be a good idea, Mir-sensei..." She mewed, scooping up some rice and octopus and stuffing it into her own maw, "I just need to get clothes... I don't think these old rags will hold out much longer, especially through training." Swallowing, she laughed lightly and helped herself to some more of the meal. Her stomach burbled appreciatively, and Demi was soon eating with a healthy abandon. Rice clung to the fur about her face in a very messy fashion, and when her container was empty, the small bobtail began licking the clinging remnants from her paws, then moved on to cleaning her face. "That was very tasty! Man, I felt like I hadn't eaten for months!" She giggled sheepishly, blinking up at the Singapura.

Mir looked over at Demi, smiling contentedly. She ate her own meal unhurriedly, having eaten while waiting for Demi. The abandonment Demi was exhibiting in consuming her own meal brought forth a happy purr from Mir. Her tail flicked back and forth with amusement, her eyes crinkling a little as she smiled. Tipping the container toward her mouth, she coaxed the last bits of the food out of the bottom of the container, her own stomach quite satisfied. She laughed with Demi, watching her clean the rice off of her face. Raising her empty container to Demi as if in a toast, Mir smiled, glad her pupil had fully returned to normal. “Here’s to eating without chopsticks.

Licking the last of the food from her paws, Demi beamed back at the older female and relaxed her ears. "You got that right! Who needs chopsticks anyway?" She also raised her container and laughed, then absently inspected it for anything she might have missed before discarding it and stretching her arms high over her head. By now, the young girl's body was feeling much better from that morning, and her eyes shimmered excitedly. "Can we begin training now, Mir-sensei?" She chirped, tipping her head to the side and lifting her ears forward.

Mir smiled, her eyes shining to match Demi’s. “Absolutely, Demi-san. I think today we’ll cover climbing.” Mir hopped up and trotted over to underneath a barred window and turned to face Demi. “When you climb a wall, or any surface, you should always have two hands and a foot or two feet and a hand holding on to the wall. That way you can support yourself no matter what limb you move.” Mir turned back around and crouched, then jumped up, grabbing on to the ledge of the windowsill and planting her feet on the side of the wall. “When you climb a ledge like this, you need to push out against the wall with your feet, instead of down, and do it quickly.” Mir shoved off, pushing herself out and up and shifting her hands further on to the windowsill as she moved, landing on the ledge in a crouch. “You climb with your legs, not your arms. When you climb, most of your power comes from your legs.” Mir turned and sat on the ledge, her legs dangling over the side. “With anything I teach you, I’m not exactly trying to teach you a set of techniques. I’m trying to teach you the safe way of doing things; the basic way to do things that you can build all of your movement off of. Parkour is a way of thinking, more than just a skill set.” Mir winked. “You try.” She said, nodding sideways at the ledge.

Rolling to her feet, the young Bobtail watched avidly as Mirelle jumped at the wall and explained how to best climb it. Having been used to using her arms to pull while climbing, the concept of pushing off with the feet was new to her. When Mir made it onto the ledge and turned to invite her up, Demi nodded and sized up the distance from the ground to the window sill. It wasn't too big of a jump...

Crouching down slightly, Demi wiggled her haunches and launched herself at the wall. She reached for the ledge of the sill with both hands, holding firmly and scrabbling at the wall momentarily with her feet to find a hold. The muscles in her arms strained as her feet fought to find purchase, but eventually they did. Determined to do things right, the bobtail replayed what she had seen the Singapore do before and pushed off the wall with her feet. The muscles in her shoulder blades tensed in that same instance, adding upward momentum to the action. The girl landed on the sill a little awkwardly beside her mentor and sighed. "That... was harder than it looked, Mir-sensei" She mewed, a bit put off by the way her mind had deceived her.

Mir smiled kindly at Demi. “Well, I have had a lot more practice then you.” Mir stood up and rolled her shoulders slightly, dusting off her skirt. She looked down at the bobtail next to her. Mir didn’t want to wear out Demi to much with new techniques. She hoped to be able to get some strength training in before Demi collapsed completely. “You up for some climbing, Demi-san?” Mir moved over to the corner of the window sill, grabbing hold of a storm drain that went all the way up to the roof. She glaze up its length, mapping out her route to the roof. It was a straight shot up anyways, and she didn’t think Demi would have much difficulty following Mir up. “Up we go.

Demi's eyes followed her mentor's up the storm drain, and her ears fell back slightly. At her prompting, the bobtail sighed and smiled. "Ready as I'll ever be, I guess. Let's do it!" She flicked her short tail and waited for the Singapura to start up before she moved under it. She had to stretch slightly to reach it, but she jumped on and took a moment to make sure she had a good hold before following suit. Her thighs protested at the activity, but the young girl pushed forward. There were some things that her body was still weary about after all. "This is a little more difficult than it usually is... but I don't think I'll have a problem, Mir-sensei!" She called up to the older female. Unseen, her arms and legs began to tremble about half-way up, and the bobtail began breathing heavier with her effort to keep going. Her ears fell back and she stubbornly pushed herself to make it all the way up; she didn't have much of a choice any longer anyway. The muscles in her thighs burned stiffly with every thrust upward, and her claws scraped against the metal of the drain pipe.

Towards the top, the small cat was panting visibly and felt like her body would give out at any minute. Watching Mir pull herself over the top seemed to take forever, and when Demi finally hauled herself to the rooftop, she flopped over on her belly. "O-oi!" She huffed, "S...Sorry Mir...sensei!" The girl rolled over onto her back, her belly heaving as she breathed. Her legs and arms felt like liquid fire, weak and useless and burning as she laid there.
