 Yuuki blinked and before he could think it through, he leaned forward and licked the whipped cream off of her nose quickly.
"You can eat the other one, one for me, one for you. I'm sure you're hungry." Ducking his head down, he nudged the package back toward her, pulling the paper off of it carefully with his teeth to open it up for her before taking a step back, kicking at the ground absently.
Lifting one of his back legs, he stretched it out slowly before doing the same with the other, mumbling quietly. "Did you sleep well? The other ponies were excited to have you back and I see you have a new necklace." He eyed the chain around her neck, she liked jewelry then he thought to himself, he would get her something then.
Something that she could put in her mane maybe, he'd have to track down Dizzy later and barter with him.

 Dolci's eyes went crossed as she watched Yuuki move in closer. She cocked her head slightly and smiled faintly, unsure of what exactly he was doing, before she felt the lick to the end of her muzzle.... and at that, she giggled quietly. "Nn! Thank you."
Wrinkling her nose just a bit, though not in disgust but rather as a involuntary reaction, she ducked her head down to peer at the other shortcake. Well, if Yuuki doesn't want it.... And she quickly bent to gobble it down in as few bites as possible.
"I did sleep well!" she replied with a full mouth, licking the corners of her lips to rid them of crumbs. "I didn't get a chance to see you after everyone started apologizing, where did you go?" Biting into the last bit of cake, she finally lifted her head, chewing slowly.
"I would have liked you to come with me." Smiling warmly, she nudged at the paper package with one of her front hooves, folding it up. "Peophynnia would have made you a bed too, I'm sure of it. That's where I stayed last night. She was glad you were there to save me."

"I went back to lay down under the trees, it was a little crowded for my liking and I'm glad I was there, too."
Backing up a bit more, he plopped back down onto the ground to get comfortable, folding his front legs underneath himself. He could go to the lake later after the sun came out more and it started to get hotter. "I watched until I knew you were alright though and even if she had made me a bed, I don't think I would've slept in it. I'm used to being out here, it makes me feel more at ease."
He nodded once, cocking his head to the side slightly to get a few strands of his mane out from in front of his eyes, scrunching his face up when he felt a fly land on the tip of his nose, causing him to sneeze before he started shaking his head back and forth to get it off.

"I still would have liked you there." She admitted gently, poking her hoof into the folded up paper on the ground. "You were the hero, after all." Not to mention the fact that Dolci just... wanted him there. For his company and for his presence and just to have him be with her. She'd missed him.
Pushing the discarded wrapper off to the side she stepped over and lowered down in the grass in front of him. So they were nose to nose, so to speak, and close enough that when the fly landed on the end of his muzzle, she leaned back instinctively. And then leaned back even more when he sneezed.
"Bless you," Dolci said quietly, suppressing another giggle. Leaning in, she touched her nose to his as he shook his head and the movement was enough that the little black insect went buzzing away. Good riddance!
"What do you have planned for us to do today?" Came out as casually as she could. Sure, it was presumptuous of her to assume that she would be included in anything he had planned to do -- but to be truthful, she had no intention of being swatted away just like the fly. She'd turn around and flutter right back and glue herself to his nose if she had to!

"What do I have planned for us today, hmm? I hadn't really thought about it." He didn't really have anything planned for today, he was just going to laze around like usual, maybe take a trip or two to the lake and then come back to the pasture and laze around some more. Oh and..at some point haggle with Dizzy for a pretty little trinket of some kind but he couldn't do that while she was around, then it wouldn't be a surprise and that would just be no fun.
"What do you feel like doing?" He leaned forward to nuzzle his nose against the side of her neck, closing his eyes slightly, he would've been perfectly content sitting here like this all day but he had a feeling that she was going to want to do something a little more interesting, something that involved him getting up off of the ground.

"Oh, I dunno. There are lots of things we could do."
Swimming in the lake, for one, could be fun -- especially if the heat of the sun was anything like it had been the day before. They could go gather apples from the trees they'd eaten breakfast off of the last morning; Dolci was sure she could weasel an apple pie lesson out of Peophynnia once the older pony woke up. There was the forest, of course, and it made for a great place to play games... but not only did she not peg Yuuki for a "tag, you're it!" sort of pony.. but she was also still a little wary of the forest herself. Even if she'd be setting hoof in it in the middle of the day.
"We could take a walk around the lake," she started off. "Once it gets lighter, of course. We could pack a lunch, too! And eat it by the water bank."
Wouldn't that be nice? It sure sounded like it. Nice and quiet, with the lake nearby if they decided to swim, and food made everything better. The idea just sounded very much like a date and after she'd blurted it out, she blushed profusely.

Yuuki laughed quietly, nodding his head slightly before mumbling. "You sure do like food. That sounds fun though, going for a walk by the lake. I wanted to head down there anyway, your company will just be an added bonus."
Yuuki wasn't ready to get up but he managed to gather his energy and push himself up, back legs first and then his front, shaking the grass off of himself quickly before moving back to give her room to get up.
He was starting to get hot, so a quick swim in the lake would be very welcomed, really he just liked the water and would use any excuse to go for a swim, food would be good also, especially if it was as good as the shortcakes she made.

Oh, wait! WAIT! He said yes? Yay, how exciting! Dolci beamed brightly and perked her ears forward, watching Yuuki stand up with delight dancing in her eyes. It would be fun, Dolci knew it would be, and she was already thrilled!
Even if it was so far away from lunch time that breakfast at this hour seemed a bit odd.
The sun was just settling in full view in the sky, and when she turned her head to peek towards it, the bright orange globe looked like it had only risen an inch or two above the horizon. It was still very, very early. And it was a shame, too, because Dolci was ready to take a sunny afternoon stroll around the lake now.
"Okay! Great!!" But now what? Flailing her legs around on the ground in her excitement to stand up, it took her a moment to actually get there. Though once she was up, she pranced in a happy circle around him, swishing her tail back and forth in her enthusiasm.
"I can go pack us a lunch! What kind of foods do you like? I only know how to make sweets on my own, but I bet Peophynnia has a bunch of recipes for... non-sweets."

"Whatever you make will be fine. I'm not picky." Yuuki cocked his head to the side slightly, trying to watch her as she pranced around him, a few more minutes of this and he'd probably get dizzy and hit the ground again, so he began to make his way back to the housing area for the ponies, walking slowly so that she could catch up.
"We aren't going to wake anyone up are we?" He mumbled quietly as he walked beside her, that was the last thing he wanted right now, to be surrounded by the other ponies this early in the morning, especially when they were all just as energetic as Dolci, some even put her to shame.
He flashed back to a time when Usagi played out a whole entire battle scene against some kind of enemy that was attacking her kingdom, she had gone back and forth in the pasture for hours playing each characters, just thinking about it was making Yuuki tired again but he blinked and shook his head slightly to perk himself up a bit, turning his attention back to Dolci.
"I like apples. You could make an apple pie, that's sweet right?"

"If we're quiet, we won't wake anyone up," Dolci replied, purposely hushing her voice. She'd done it once already, who was to say she couldn't do it all over again? After all, as long as she kept her inane giggling quiet, and didn't knock anything big over, they'd be a-okay!
She shuffled along with him, being very careful to keep from trampling on anything that might crack or break or crunch under hoof, making her way towards the little building she'd sneaked from just a little while ago.
"I can make apple pie! I know exactly where Peophynnia's recipe is for that." And mm, indeed, apple pie sounded good. So did... "Chocolate cake. I know how to make that too."
But what about actual food? Not that desserts weren't actual food, and she could probably eat sweets for every meal of every day, but she wasn't sure Yuuki would like that too much.
"I can make us some cheese sandwiches, maybe."

Lowering his voice, Yuuki nodded his head slightly, watching her walk into the building before following behind her quietly.
"Sandwiches are good, like I said.. anything you make will be fine." He looked around to find a spot where he wouldn't get in her way to much, he was good at eating but when it came to cooking, well..he sucked. He'd be lucky to get the cheese sandwiches done without something going wrong, so he opted to stand in the corner and watch her instead.
His gaze wandered around the room, he'd never been in here before, the kitchen was big and bright, full of cook books and other things he wasn't quite sure what they were. "I'd offer to help, but it probably wouldn't do much good."

As soon as she stepped inside the small building, Dolci cast a quick gaze around. The rooms were relatively quiet, she could even hear the faint, grating grumble of Peophynnia's snoring (and wouldn't it be funny if Dolci mentioned that to her sometime!) -- all was well!
Leading the way into the kitchen, she immediately set to work. Leaving Yuuki to stand in the corner, she quickly started pulling bags of flour and sugar out of the pantry from where she'd left them just a few hours before. Milk, eggs, cocoa powder, a bowl of fresh apples, more cream... even a loaf of bread baked the evening before and a large chunk of creamy orange cheese.
Dolci was quick, but very thorough, as she nosed through the older pony's cookbooks. She followed the directions to the last detail, making sure each measurement was correct and precise and that she mixed the bowls for the correct amount of time.
But at least ten minutes had passed before Dolci realized she was being a very bad host. And she peeked over at Yuuki with a smear of flour across her cheek and a warm smile on her mouth.
"I'm sorry," she offered sheepishly. "You can come help me, I'll teach you."
Nodding once she nudged the cookbook across the counter top, pointing with her nose to the page. "Come read me the instructions, and you can help stir!"

"How about I just read the instructions? I don't think letting me near the ingredients is a good idea."
He walked over cautiously to stand next to her, looking at all of the different things she had laid out, the cheese looked and smelled good, he would have to work extra hard to try not eat it before she could make the sandwiches. The apples looked even better, but he knew they were for the pie and he'd probably get yelled at, so he decided it would be best to try not to eat those as well.
Looking over the recipe, he tilted his head to the side, it didn't seem to complicated, he could read these and she would bake and all would be well, nothing would drop, spill, break, or explode and then they could go have their picnic.

"Mn. Okay, so I'm here..." Moving over towards Yuuki, she leaned in close and pointed with her nose at the middle of the chocolate cake recipe. She nudged him gently and then smiled wider, moving back to grab the handle of her large wooden spoon with her teeth, speaking around it. "After the flour, I add the cocoa powder right?"
Dolci figured once she got the cake in the oven, she could start on the pie crust. And once the cake was done, she could put the crust in for a little while, and make the apple filling. Then while the pie baked with the filling inside, she could slice the bread and make the sandwiches. And then! Everything would have some time to cool, and she could pack everything up just in time for lunch!
Right?!
So a burst of excitement rushed through her, surging right down to the tips of her hooves and the ends of her tail, and she bounced on her feet for a moment while she waited for further instruction from Yuuki. And in doing so, her tail wagged sharply to the left..... hitting into the wooden island in the middle of the kitchen. Knocking into it firmly enough to send the small bag of half empty flour spilling right to the floor in a fluster of white billows.

"Mm, yes. The cocoa powder goes in--" He began to say before he heard a loud thud and was completely enveloped in a cloud of flour, causing him to cough and sneeze, stepping back a few feet to move away from it, knocking a few apples off of the counter as he went.
"Are you alright?!" He could barely see anything, the smoke was everywhere so he waited a few minutes for it to settle, laughing quietly when he finally caught a glimpse of her covered in the flour. It was all over her face and legs and he if she looked like that, he could only imagine what he looked like himself.
