"I already ate..." She promised though didn't enclose information about how much. She honestly couldn't bring herself to eat, feeling far too tense and worried to have much of an appetite.
Pushing this thought away however, she opened the container, leaning forward, and spooning a little out. She sat up on her foot so she could lean upt towards him more, making his bed meet her half way before offering it to his mouth as gently as she could. "Just a little bit now... we'll gradually let you have more an more as you can take it ok?" She said this in a soft and soothing voice, one she wasn't sure she had used before.

He just believed her. Raquel could take care of herself, he knew, and now it was his turn to be the one taken care of. He never thought that something artificially flavored could taste so good from a hospital bed, but the gelatin was satisfactory at the very least. Damian swallowed it whole at first because of the angel his body was propped up at, but took the next bite a bit more carefully. "I never thought I would be eating gelatin like this," he said as she scooped a bit more up. Small quantities were all he was allowed, sadly. "Lovely way, really."

Raquel smirked a little, giving him a bit more, careful not to drop any on his hospital gown or sheets. "Well if we were home and you were in better condition, I'd find a more...interesting way..thats for sure." She joked, stealing a joking bite for herself before giving Damian another.

"I'll use my vivid imagination," Damian said with his grin, though it was subdued from its usual mischievous self. The little cup of gelatin was finished off in just a few more bites, leaving Damian still hungry. For his own personal good, though, he couldn't have any more.
"Thank you. Perhaps now the hunger pains will at least go away. My shoulder is throbbing again..."

Raquel furrowed her brow, setting the empty cup onto the nearby table. She stood, getting a better look at him. "Maybe you should get some of those pain pills...Even if they make you sleepy, that's probably what you need most..." She somewhat urged, gripping the side of the bed so she wouldn't reach out for his hand like she wanted.

She was right. He did need more of his medication, which was delivered by a nurse in only a few moments. Centurion that he was, he received the best service, whether that was unfair to the other people staying at the hospital or not.
Just before Damian fell asleep, he asked one small thing. "I feel silly, but... would you hold my hand?" His drugged smile was crooked as his head rested against the pillow. "I don't want to feel alone."

Raquel sighed, smiling warmly. "Of course love... You're not alone. I'll be here when you wake up..." She added softly, reaching for his hand gingerly. Her hands were so soft and warm, as she laced her fingers through his, stroking the top of his hand with her free one. "Sleep tight...I love you..." She whispered, trying to project good vibes, happy thoughts, and lovely feelings into him to maybe help him heel faster, or at least get some peaceful sleep.

Damian spent the next few days mostly sleeping, but on the fifth day, he felt well enough to try walking. The compression boots they had been putting on his legs to prevent blood clots were beginning to hurt him, and now he wanted to try to get up on his own. That, and walking was the only way he was going to get to the shower room so he could wash off properly, even if it was only a sponge bath and careful washing of his hair.
With both feet swung out of the bed, and a little wheelchair set just a few feet away, Damian wanted to hobble his way out. "They won't let me have a crutch because of my shoulder, and the cast on the other arm," he said to Raquel. "I don't want to go in that bloody chair when I get to go home..."
Though even when he was home, he would have to stay in the wheelchair until his leg was better, or until he could support himself on crutches.

"Darling if thats what you need to do to get better, I don't see the problem. I dont mind helping you get around or anything of the sort." She offered, trying hard to encourage him. She didn't look as haggard or as worried though it still showed in her face. Since Damian was making progress, she was getting a little more rest and feeling slightly better.
"If anything, maybe if they let you go home with the chair, it'll mean I get to be the one to give you a sponge bath?" She tried to joke, coming up beside him to help him along.

"I was actually hoping you could help me wash my hair..." Damian seemed so shy all of a sudden. He didn't want the nurses touching him or washing his hair, or seeing him half naked and struggling to be clean once more. Only Raquel was allowed to see his weakness, because somehow he felt only she understood.
Yet right after he asked, Damian regretted having her do anything for him, looking as tired as she did. "I could always get a nurse to come, though. You should be sleeping and eating anyhow..."

Raquel gave him a slight peck on the cheek. "And let some stranger come in here and take you away and bathe you? Not on my watch. You're my future husband...the love of my life. I want to help you when I can..." She said this so soft, so sweetly, hoping he would let her help him.

The grin that came over his face was actually cute. "Alright. I know we have to wrap my casts in the clear plastic so they don't get wet." A push off of the edge of the bed sent him to a standing position on one leg practically, a dizzying feet as the blood rushed back to him. Hobbling steps brought him to the wheelchair where he sat down thankfully once more, sore and throbbing in places that had fallen asleep while he stayed on the bed. This would be more difficult than he thought.

Raquel watched him carefully, noting the pained expression across his lovely face, as well as how pale he was from such a short journey. "Of course... I'll get a nurse to help me with that much before we get started alright? I don't want to risk ruining them myself." She admitted, coming up behind the chair so she could wheel him off towards the shower room.

And so they went off into the shower room, where a nurse wrapped up Damian's wounds with plastic so that water couldn't ruin the bandages and casts. He felt like a piece of food at the supermarket, but it was alright. At least it didn't hurt him more than he already was.
Damian sat on a little plastic bench, with a hand-held sprayer and little soaps. Yes, he though, looking at everything while still in his boxers. This would be difficult.

Raquel joined him, taking off the light sweater she had been wearing, revealing a cami and a pair of shorts. She would have joined him in stripping down but that would have been looked upon as strange by the faculty of the hospital, or at least frowned upon. She hung her sweater up near the towels at one end, coming up to Damian, taking his hair tie out, letting his dark long hair fall around his small, skinny face. it was even skinnier, with more defined cheekbones now since he hadn't been eating the usual solid foods.
She silently reached for the sprayer, turning it on and letting it get warm, not really speaking to Damian. She wasn't sure what to say, knowing this had to be embarrassing or degrading for him. Not being able to bathe himself... it sounded more terrible in the minds eye than it did in reality.
So she simply gave him soft, reassuring touches, only humming softly as she got a few rags and gently began scrubbing at Damian's shoulders and neck. She would work her way down before starting on his hair.
her hands were so soft and gentle, giving him a soft, careful massage as she worked her way down his back, not wanting to soak him to the bone, simply giving him a regular sponge bath to start off with. This also gave her a chance to survey his body for herself, noting the various bruises and scratches he held all over. Each contusion seemed to make her feel worse and worse, realizing the severity of the attack more than she felt she had.
