Nalani could only watch the scene in silent awe. The combination of the flying dandelion puffs and the hundred of little lightening bugs made for quite a display. "Kratos, that's beautiful," she said quietly, eyes still taking in the spectacle. "How is the world did you know all of this was here?"

"Ah, it's nothing really. That honeysuckle? The bugs like that scent. I guess because it's heady- thick, you know? It has a smell that they like." Not that the smell was at all unpleasant, even to him. It smelled nice. He might have taken a nibble if he wasn't so busy watching the mare. She was really sweet. He sighed softly and closed his eyes as he enjoyed the sounds of the rush of activity around them. "There are a few other flowers like that, sometimes overripe fruit." He opened his crystal blue eyes and turned his gaze on her with a smile that carried a hint of sadness. "We should probably get you back home before it gets dark."

"I'll have to remember that for the future," she said with a smile when Kratos explained the bugs and the flowers to her. Of course with her luck she might happen upon a swarm of bees instead of fireflies. Perhaps it wasn't something she should try on her own...
Momentarily lost in her pondering, his last words came as a bit of a surprise. "Home? Oh, right. I suppose that I should." A small frown formed on her muzzle, but she hid it by lowering her head to sample one of the honeysuckles. "Mm, this is good. You should try one at least," she replied, looking back up at him with a small smile. "Do you think you might pass through here again sometime in the future?"

Chuckling softly, Kratos bowed his head and tore off a small flower. Swallowing it down, he nodded. He hated that he'd saddened her on any level, but he didn't want her to fall prey to those things that walked the night. And the sun was fast falling. "I'll be here." A quiet promise. He favored her with a gentle smile. "I'll walk you part of the way back?"

"Alright," she agreed with a nod, satisfied by his promise to return. "This way then."
The two walked at a leisurely pace, chatting quite easily along the way. All too soon though they came near where Nalani knew the rest of her family to be. She could both hear and smell them not too far off. "Where will you stay the night?" the mare asked quietly, just a bit concerned. It was dark out now after all, and it would be difficult to find a decent shelter at this point.

The stallion canted his head and thought a moment, then looked off. "I suppose I get as far as I can go, then find a shallow cave. It's safer. Traveling by air." Night wasn't quite as opressive as it had to be for those without wings.

Nalani gave a small nod in response to his answer. While she would have loved to offer him a resting place with them for the night, she somehow didn't picture he father reacting to it too well. Or her sister. Or possibly even her brother. "Alright then. Good night, Kratos." She gave him a soft lick on the cheek before walking off. "Stay safe."

Flushing darkly beneath his fur, Kratos offered a light smile. "Thank you, Nalani. You as well." He watched until she disappeared from view. Doubtless she would meet her family on the other side. And that would be safer for her. A good life, here out in the forests. Sighing, he closed his eyes and turned his muzzle to the sky. The faint breeze stirred his mane. After a long repose, when he was certain she'd safely traversed the distance between him and her herd, he turned and started back in the direction they'd come. "I'll see you soon."
