"Au contraire, Slade, I'm a member, just like you, should you choose to join." Lex paused, then said, "Just think, the mastermind behind some of our worse defeats, but now on OUR side. We can always find out who he is and kill him once we no longer need him."

Deathstroke appeared to think about this for a second or two. "I'll have to get back to you, then," he stated, and started toward the elevator. "The other group bares investigating."

"The Masterminds of Evil, or something equally rediculous,"Deathstroke replied absently, opening the elevator. Not that 'Legion of Doom' was much better. "Apparently, they've already recruited villains from every involved universe, and I've heard reports that they almost took out the JLA satellite."

Deathstroke the Terminator, Slade Wilson. One of the few people that Lex would tolerate an attitude like that from. The only reason he did was becauase Deathstroke was every bit as good as he claimed. The fact that he didn't join was a little disappointing. Still, Lex had gotten a maybe out of him, which was better than nothing. Besides, this would give Luthor some time to prepare, to make it appear that he was NOT Mockingbird.

As Deathstroke arrived on the ground floor, he mulled over his options. Luthor currently had basically nothing; that much was abundently clear. Even if Mockingbird was involved--which he sort of doubted-- that wasn't much of an organization. He would check out the Masterminds of Evil as planned, and see how well they were handling things... and, of course, he would compare pay rates.

Lex was looking around on various sattelites that he'd 'aquired' the passcodes for as President for the Joker, as well as other possible choices. Hmmm... There WERE some decent options... There appeared to be a man in green armor, with a jet pack, carried a gun... Not many heroes carried guns. Lex decided to look into that later. The next thing he found caused him no shortage of dismay. Superman had apparently been VERY busy finding new people to work with. He moved on, and found the Joker. Apparently he had company. Odd. Not like the clown at all, to run around with a woman other than Harley, let alone allow a child to tag along with them. After shaking his head in disbelief, he went up to the elevator and returned to his office. He got the battlecuit back out, suited up, and took off through the hole in the outer wall made by Supergirl and Doomsday towards Joker's location.
