What I meant was....
Say you have:
3- ASLDLJAHFAJFH!)@*$&*!!! You just scraped the wings of the dragon to your right/left! Expect a reprimand after this drill!
instead...
3- ASLDLJAHFAJFH!)@*$&*!!! You just scraped the wings of the dragon to your right/left!
Take out the 'Expect a reprimand..." and leave the roll to be only the Flight action information.
Then, the RP can be whatever comes after. Lyv/R'than may or may not want to reprimand...or praise depending on who or what the circumstances are.
Will be amusing to see how everyone takes to the drills...lol

Oh, question on Lyveanna and R'than watching at first; isn't that really going to mess up any formations they might take? If they haven't got their leader and second up there to follow, how will they know what to do?

Because it is just a basic formation everyone should know since Weyrlinghood. *wavelies at previous post* Like I already mentioned, this first drill isn't going to be a OMG LET'S GET DOWN TO BIZZNSS! Everyone needs a drill or two to get acquainted and settle a bit. Lyv and R'than don't need to be 'leading' at the front of the pack, per se, since they would better do their job 'leading' by figuring out each of their wingmen out. The way the V works anyway is good for this (which is why I thought it best to start with it) because dragons can be added or subtracted without any issues. Physically, the formation itself is foolproof so long as everyone stays relatively aligned, and the size of the dragons in whatever position doesn't have much affect on the overall effectiveness of the formation itself. (They'll get into actual thread fighting tactics later, when spacing for firestone emission and diving becomes more of a factor.) That way, a green could be next to a bronze, and they'll both mutually benefit from the updraft of each others wings and save energy flying the same as a brown next to a blue. ICly, the formation assignments will given out before anyone is off the ground, same with basic military maneuvers. You don't wait to be in the middle of a maneuver to tell folks what to do, and drill sergeants don't run at the front of the pack when they are watching for mistakes. You tell first, watch from the sides, and remind as needed yes? xD! <3 Little different from Weyrling training when they have to be shown how these things work, since everyone ICly should know the basics. (I'll post a diagram and some excerpts from the DLG on formation drilling so everyone is on the same page OOCly and we all can have the most fun goofing up intentionally if we want too. xD! ) So basically Lyv will just outline that they will be doing the V drill, make sure everyone knows what she is talking about, tell everyone where their place is in the formation, and then everyone takes off to practice it. She and R'than would be watching from two angles to spot mistakes if there are any. I'm late again, but I think this set up looks excellent! ^^
And yea, I might also be on a form of hiatus for quite some time - basically I can't justify spending a lot of time on the computer, but I still want to play Hallianth well, so... I'll hopefully be seeing you guys in the Wing RPs, at the very least!

I'm afraid I have nothing constructive to suggest at this time. I like the system you've come up with so far, because it seems fair and even the most seasoned riders are prone to some mistake. Good days and bad and all that.
I will keep my eyes peeled, but when we actually start some of these training rps, could someone PM me, perhaps? Just so I can reply to them right away.
Also, I am eager to have N'ron meet all of his wingmates upon a personal level. So if I'm not currently in a rp with you, and you're interested, go ahead and post in my personal OOC thread -nods to sig- If need be, N'ron would personally see to seeking them out if they never meet in passing.
