Adam laughed at Faolan's reply. "I know, I know; just a bit of teasing, is all. As for Verdant, hell, when he gets this happy, he can sleep through ANYTHING." It was quite true; Verdant had been the same way when he got his ears pierced, but that pain was only felt AFTER the masochistic nymph had woken up.

Faolan had a good point though: how the hell could this guy stay asleep through all that? "Oh well; to each his own, I guess. Let's see here..." Adam grabbed the blackest green ink he had and began outlining the floral tramp stamp. "I wonder if he wanted this here or somewhere else? Oh, well."

"Blanche? No, she hates drawing; says she sucks at it. She's a secretary at some bigwig-company-lawyer-lawfirm-whatever. I think she's the only secretary there who hasn't banged her boss- or anyone who works in that building, for that matter. Apparently, there's this stereotype going around that succubae make great secretaries because they put out. They don't." Adam laughed his heart out at the very idea of Blanche combining sex with work; it was very unlike her to even think of doing so. "Anyways, enough about me. What about your wife? What's she do?"

"She's a storyteller at the carnival," Faolan said, shrugging. "She used to be a writer, though, before we got married." He sounded a little sad at the fact his wife had given it up.

"Used to be? Why'd she stop? I bet she's great at it." Adam wondered if she'd stopped for Faolan's sake or something like that. It sucked that she'd stopped, especially if it was something she enjoyed doing.

"I ain't sure why she stopped. She hasn't written since she moved to Farstep to be with me. I figure a place like that would have a lot of inspiration for stories, but she ain't been writin' any," Faolan sighed, ears drooping a little.

Adam thought about what Faolan said for a little bit before answering back. "Well, she might've just hit a rough patch, is all. I mean, there are times when I can't even think of inking or piercing anyone, you know? I'm sure that's all it is."

Adam finished up Verdant's tramp stamp and looked up at Faolan with interest. "You're gonna be a dad? Nice! Is it a boy or a girl?" Sure, it was the standard question to ask, but it was a good question nonetheless, right?
