That works, but lets build something ourselves I think. It couldn't take that long, and it gives each world a purpose which can be used, even if it being a dried up world of ruins, usually that attracts certain kinds of characters, we don't need to go into quite the degree that Entropy did, perhaps a paragraph or more explaining each planets, and perhaps full bios on the planets more impotent to the story.

Define "Ourselves", because basically I said everyone who is interested in playing should make a solar system to add to the sector, so that is "Ourselves" unless you're excluding someone.
Those participating, if they wish to. As you said.

Have another thread set to the side for the Sector building, and unanimously build the worlds.

This is a democracy, Des.
There wont be any unanimous decisions until we revert back to a military dictatorship under Thrawn.
Indivisable.
With Order and Justice for all.

Besides, if we have too many people voicing oppinions about other people's work, nothing will get done and we'll be bogged down into endless discussion about how many moons this jungle planet will have and what alien race do we put on the ice world orbiting the red dwarf.

Making a solar system sounds like fun but I don’t want to do all that much work on it.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 15, 2009 1:25 pm

So we craft or generate the system and hand it in to the Mods so they can put all the bits and pieces together.

Oh, I didn't mean unanimous, I meant together. Just as we are doing now, development of each of the planets in this fashion. Have about 30 or so planets on a list and build up each one, from climate, atmosphere, and native species and so-on. If each person makes a planet of there own, things will be a bit strange and uncoordinated than if we did it all as a group effort.

Yes, pretty much.

@K-blade: Hmm. I see.

@ Des: Des, I'm talking about solar systems. Not planets.
And not every single one will have a unique species to it.

I'm starting to see where this "Let everyone help build the system" thing is going to fall apart.

Whoever said unique native species on every planet? This is world building, not species building.

Basically, the way I see it happening, is make a thread, with a post or boxed off area for each system in the sector, maybe have a few or so people focus on a particular system and build it up, while maintaining cooperation with the other groups to make sure we dont have anything identical and that we can tie in certain planets with others, economy, factions, etc.

I not forseeing that many problems really, then afterward, we'll all tie it together and find a nice place in the Galaxy to squeeze our little project in.

I already have a general idea for a system.

Des, you NEVER see any problems with anything you come up with.

Whats wrong with that idea? It gets things done in an organized manner instead of throwing out ideas to a whole group of people.

What other choices are there besides spliting the development of the individual systems amongst us, or having it all completely open to comment of everyone. Unless of course you want to make it all yourself.

I didn't say anything was wrong with that Idea, Des. I was just observing that you never see the flaws in anything you suggest.

Tell them to go here...

Star Wars System Generator

Hit generate until they see something they like, and then add background and facilities to it. Tweaking the system as needed to make it useful for the RP.

For example I got a 4 Orbit System containing a ball of plasma, a volcanic world, a barren terrestrial world, and a tidally locked jungle world. 4 moons in various locations, two of which are occupied by non-spacefaring races. One of the moons has a agro-corp facility on it.

For the RP I'm adding a number of orbital facilities to turn the system into the local Imperial Sector Group's base of operations. These include a drydock hollowed out of an asteroid moon, an orbital starfighter production facility (for replacement TIEs... you don't want to know how many of these damn things you see in the X-wing series of games), an orbital storage facility plus container yard, a refueling depot above the plasma ball, and a garrison to protect the agro-corp facility which has been nationalized to help feed the local fleet.

...I clicked it and got a black hole on my first try.
Thats ******** awesome.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 15, 2009 1:48 pm

Lol, they're more common than anyone thinks. The third closest solar system to earth contains a black hole.

I wouldn't suggest them if I saw any direct flaws.
