Kat waved her hand slightly, dismissing the thought as pure paranoia. "Nah, it's nothing. Don't worry about it." She flashed Adrian a smile. "I just thought for a minute that I might know him."

Derek grinned at Thali's narrowed eyes. "It's just pointless." When she said he was going to be one of her favorites, his eyebrows raised. "Well you're the first." When she said 'elvish', his face deadpanned. "....elvish? Like...elves?" His face contorted into a frown of concentration. "Didn't think this was a Lord of the Rings convention....."


((Derek : *dies a little inside* ))

"Maybe..." Kat checked the clock. It was almost time for first period. She smirked softly in anticipation. Her first class was second graders, and she absolutely adored every one of the kids.

Derek blinked at Thali. For about half a second he considered dropping the act, but didn't show a flicker of it on his face. Then he realized that he'd only met about one-fourth of the teachers, and this 'Adrian' character seemed to deserve some looking into. "Whatever you say..." he muttered, then turned on his heel and headed towards the chem room.

"Second graders." Kat's smile widened as she said it aloud. When he called her pretty, the smile slipped from her face, quickly replaced by a rare, shy look - complete with blush. Then a goofy grin appeared and she giggled. "Adrian, you're adorable!" she exclaimed, almost in the same tone she would use with one of her kids.

Derek cast a small glance over his shoulder towards Thali. He was grinning, but on the inside he was starting to feel frustrated. How much longer could he keep this up?

Derek shuffled down the hall towards his history class. He had ten minutes to kill if he wanted to be at least five minutes late. His mind wandered to the history teacher - the elf he'd bumped into earlier. He had to bite his lip to keep from cringing. Maybe he should just skip history and avoid the confrontation. Then a smirk formed on his face. Having another spat just might turn out to be fun. Gray eyes blinked suddenly as he caught himself staring at a familiar face and quickly veered away from the gym towards the bathroom.

Kat was sitting on the bleachers, pulling out the attendance roster for the next class. She felt the young man's eyes on her and glanced up, just in time to see him walking away. Her brown eyes narrowed. Yes, he had definitely been watching her that time. "Strange..." she muttered to herself.

Derek burst into the history room, nearly five minutes late. He blinked around at the class, then muttered, "sorry teach....got lost again." It was a lie, of course - his sense of direction was impeccable. Before Thali could reply, he slinked over to an empty chair and plopped down.

"I know.." Kat groaned. If only she could get close enough. Maybe then she could figure out who the heck the kid was.

Derek blinked wide-eyed at Thali. Man. This chick just didn't give up. He actually felt a bit sorry for her, so he gazed half-heartedly at the assignment.

"Oh! You're right! I have juniors and seniors next period!" Kat grinned mischievously at Adrian. "Thanks; but I'll make sure myself that he shows up for class."

Derek blanched. Elven translations?! He slowly raised his head to glare at Thali. She was doing this to taunt him. But how?! How could she know?! He groaned and let his face fall down onto the top of his desk and found himself racking his brain for options. He could cheat! Slowly, he tilted his head and gazed around the room, in search of the smartest looking kid.

Kat was about to say something when she noticed two girls sitting off to the side of the gym. She stood up and yelled, "HEY! If you don't participate, you get a zero!" The girls gave her a wide-eyed look, then quickly scooted back to their respective teams. The shape-shifter plopped back down onto the bleachers with a satisfied look.
