The Warp is to my knowledge infinite and stretch to anywhere.

Therefore Chaos can never be defeated, only if the Nids eat everything in every galaxy, and there is billions of them.
Chaos can only be weakened.

IIRC, the Warp stretches everywhere, but the Chaos Gods and daemons are local phenomena limited to our galaxy. If our galaxy goes, so do they.

The only other places that the gods would be able to exist would be other places that the Old Ones seeded psychic races.

The warp requires realspace psychic presence to generate entities such as the "gods" of the warp or any other kind of daemon. The Living Saint is nothing more than a Daemon, and exists because of the mass belief, by the psychic race of humans, that she exists. Ork vehicles that are painted red go "fasta" because the Orks, a psychic race, believe that the red paint actually makes them go faster.

The warp is like a pool, and psychic races are like children with stones. You keep throwing stones into the water, and ripples will form. The stones stop coming, the ripples stop flowing.

The Black Messiah
I think it will go like this: The space marines will continue to wage war on thier chaos brethen, until both of them are all but excint.

The Eldar will do something similar with their dark side, whilst a big 3 way batlle between the necrons, tau and orks goes on.

Ultimately, that fate of the galaxy will come down to the Imperial Guard, and the tyranids, simply due to their superior weight of numbers.

Between those 2, I think the bugs will win, we're screwed =(

I agree although I think necrons will last a lot longer,
unless they decide they're ging to go back to their tombs and sleep.

It could be possible for eldar to find a way to reverse their on-going extinction...But on the whole i thing tyranids will finally complete what they were borne to do....Destroy everything.

know what worries me more than that we have nothing better to do with our time than debate possibilities in a fictional future? it's that everything you just said made sense to me...

Caleidah and I already covered the whole 'Warp entities like the gods are depended on real world psykers' bit. "But they're gods!" is a silly retort. Yes they are gods, but they're small 'g' gods. They have weaknesses and limitations and aren't omnipotent or omniscient. By the logic the C'tan would be the perfect match up against the Chaos Gods and both pantheons would forever be locked in a stalemate since their numbers are equal.

I never said that there weren't.

The C'tan never created psychic races, because originally the psychic races were made to battle the C'tan. The unforseen consequence of those psychic races was that THEY IMPACTED THE WARP IN SUCH A WAY THAT THE DAEMONS AND GODS OF CHAOS BECAME SENTIENT BEINGS WITH THE ABILITY TO CROSS THROUGH THE WALL BETWEEN THE WARP AND REAL SPACE AND TAKE PHYSICAL FORM. THAT'S RIGHT, THEY ARE ONLY THERE BECAUSE OF RACES LIKE THE ELDAR, ORKS, AND HUMANS!

*cough* I think that about covers it.

With all this thought about TAU numbers being so low I'm very surprised there has been no thought of Clone research in the Tau Empire.
