He hesitates, and then nods, returning to his former perch, and unable to keep a bit of relief from escaping him at her answer. While she doesn't sound particularly 'all right' at the moment, this is better than a brisk dismissal, by far.
He'll stay, then, he assures her. As long as Melody would like him to.

Melody finally seems to calm down, even if the noises behind the curtain sound rather less than pleasant.
But that would be the fault of the babies, not Melody.

Hitsuga favors the shower curtain with an odd look at her proclamation and smooths his outer garments a bit as he sits, fishing for something to discuss. Something that might steer away from this particular unpleasantness....
Perhaps, when Melody is feeling better, they could bring the children to the park? He has been there recently with Baikou. Everything is turning summer colors, its very pretty. 3nodding

...Ack, one minute. Could Hitsuga hold the babies for a bit? Melody needs to put her top back on.

It's fine, Melody assures him. She's covered up with a cloth.
With one hand, she pulls back the curtain a bit, her damp, makeup-less face (but very little else) visible.

Looking up warily at first, the beginning flutterings of anxiety ease back again to see her face. And confirm, for sure, that she is not upset because of anything he may have said.
...and the fact that she is, indeed, properly covered also helps things no small amount.
Rising from where he sits, and offering her a smile, he draws nearer to accept the children from her so that she can dress.

First Eiji, and then Tsubaki. Melody gently hands the babies over, her expression growing more and more relaxed as their eyes begin to droop and the hazy projections of sleep surround them like a soothing mist.
Soothing enough that, when she pulls back the curtain and dresses, she doesn't seem to have the will or strength to open it again.

At first its a bit overwhelming, having both arms laden with the weight of an infant in each, but he shifts them until he can, if not comfortably, at least securely hold both Tsubaki and Eiji as he waits for Melody to resituate herself behind the curtain.
....and waits.
............and waits.
....Melody? he ventures at last.

The lull of her exhausted sleep is the only thing that meets him, and...he wonders if it may not be for the best, after all, to simply let her rest.
He should be fine on his own, he tells himself, as he looks down to the two sleeping cherubic faces of the children nestled against him at the moment.
....fine, at least, as long as they don't wake up and start crying. sweatdrop
Luckily for all four of them, Hitsuga is not tired in the least, at the moment, as he settles in to await either Melody's awakening, or her husband's arrival home.
......and hopes Master Boyue will not find this scenario TOO strange.
