Rhian broke the little kiss and smiled at Lauss. "Sibling-Zi kisses Crux all the time and Crux has no mouth, so he does like this!" She chirped, and proceeded to demonstrate the concept of nuzzling to the featureless proto. "You can do that, yes? It's a kiss for when you don't have a mouth, and then you can really kiss when you grow and get one!"
Was Rhian enjoying herself with Lauss? Very, very much so.
Ellandra watched the two protos, her eyes alight with amusement and aww-ness at the cute scene before her. "Well, Lauss does have a point - it would certainly get you away from your family if you moved here," she said softly, a smile quirking her lips. "The only problem would be managing it legally - and if you wanted to, of course. But you're always welcome to visit - and i'm sure Rhian, Faolan and Ziazan would all say the same."
Rhian definitely would, if her mouth wasn't occupied with kissing Lauss again and trying to teach him the art of nuzzling.

So there was a kissing substitute? Rhian was so knowledgable. Lauss leaned in and did as she had, trying his best to "nuzzle" the proto in front of him, pressing his nose into her little abdomen. "Is this correct, Miss Rhain?" He hoped so. Because, even if he was wrong, this was still quite pleasant.
Wait, they could really move here? Lee was too interested by Ellandra's suggestion to really think about the essentics. Somehow Ellandra had figured out she didn't like her family -- not that it was overly difficult to see. "I-I would love to!" Oh, definitely. No issues there. But there was still a problem with it being legal. But, thinking about it, that wasn't much of a problem there, either. She'd officially be an adult in a matter of months, so she'd only have to endure her current living status a bit longer. Then she could move out, get a place of her own, go to college, or maybe even more here. It seemed so unlikely that she could leave. That she could live on her own. That she could make her own decisions. "Ellandra... how would I even make money? Like, how would I be able to pay for one of these... things." She threw her arms around to say she was talking about a vardo. Surely they weren't free. And food -- good food didn't come cheap. When Lauss grows, she'd have to pay for two. Suddenly the girl was less excited and more anxious. How would she be able to live without her parents?

Rhianburst into giggles. "That tickles, Lauss-teacher!" She chirped, fluttering backwards for a split-second before coming close again. "Try to nuzzle at my face this time, you were very close last time!" This was the best time she'd had with another of her kind in . . . well, ever. Even Sibling-Zi being nice to her wasn't as pleasant as this!
Ellandra tilted her head and though for a moment. "Well, it's not an immediate thing, and I'm sure Faolan would be able to help you figure something out." Really, she had no more idea of what Lee could do than she'd had for herself, but that was for a time in the future. "I'm sure he'll help," she said confidently, though she didn't know about Lee meeting Faolan here before - she just knew her husband and that he wouldn't force Lee to stay with her horrible family if something could be wrked out for her.

Lauss held his hand out to Rhian as she backed away. He hadn't meant to tickle her. Tickling was unpleasant, at least for him. "I appologize..." He felt a little discouraged, and took a moment before attempting to nuzzle her face. "This is correct, then?" He wasn't just asking her to learn this time. Rhian was better than learning. And nothing had ever come close before.
That was true. Lee would have time to prepare, if she decided to do this. But it still got her thinking. What sort of job could she actually hold? "Do they do face painting here?" That would be fun. Although she'd probably have to deal with kids all the time. Perhaps there was something better suited for her... Talk about Faolan seemed to irk her a bit, especially when she was talking to a pregnant Elle in their marital home. But the woman was right. He'd help.

"Yes, yes, that's it!" Rhian cheered, before kissing Lauss on the nose again. She was starting to understand why Sibling-Zi and Crux did this all the time, it was very pleasant when it was with someone nice and special like Lauss-teacher was! She hoped he didn't have to leave any time soon. "And don't be sorry, it was only a little mistake after all," She added after a moment, wanting lauss to not be disappointed with himself for any reason.
"I think so," Ellandra said quietly. "I don't really know. I'm sure there's something you can do though, regardless." The brunette shifted a little, not sure what to say now. It was clear any mention of Faolan was going to bother Lee, so she couldn't bring him up again, or anything about what ideas he might have - which meant she was rather at a loss for what to say.

"You like kissing, don't you Miss Rhian." Lauss purred, happy to know she thought no less of him for his earlier mistake. He wanted to ask her so badly. Why was she so enjoyable? "Miss Rhian..." How to word this... "Do you think, by the time we grow, I will still think you're so pleasant? I want a mouth." He wanted to kiss her, too. Nuzzling was nice, but Rhian made kissing look like so much fun.
Oh dang, what had she said to make Ellandra stop talking? Okay then, talk about something else. "What do you do here? I mean, do you still write?" She couldn't imagine Ellandra just abondoning something she'd been so good at. For someone who didn't have any real talents herself, it was hard to imagine anyone wasting theirs.

"Mm, I don't know," Rhian said thoughtfully. "I've never kissed anyone but you, Lauss-teacher!" And she didn't want to, either. She just wanted to kiss Lauss-teacher forever. The flutterby tilted her head a little. "I don't know if you will, but I hope so - I'd like you to get a mouth too!" Because then he could kiss her, too, and she'd like that.
Oh yes, she'd like that very much.
Ellandra shook her head a little. "I haven't written anything in quite some time - mostly because, I think, I wrote so much because I was unhappy with my life. . . and now that I am, there's no reason to write any more." She paused for a moment, and then continued, "I'm somewhat between tasks right now; I've been working in the ticketbooth lately, and before that I helped with bookkeeping. . . I'm still trying to find the right job for me, I suppose."

He'd been the only one special enough to deserve a kiss from Rhian? And not just one kiss, but several. And for now, he'd just have to be content with being on the receiving end of the kissing. "I haven't... 'nuzzled' anyone but Miss Rhian, either. And I won't kiss anyone else. I wouldn't want to." Probably not smart to predict such things at this point, but he was fully confident that he was being honest. Lauss couldn't imagine anyone being special enough for such a thing.
Lee looked to her lap. This place made her happy? It was Faolan that made her happy, wasn't it? But let's not bring that up. "Do you think you'll have time to do those things when your children are born?" She could take over Ellandra's duties, right? After all, how hard could bookkeeping be?

Could a butterfly blush? Well, maybe not, but Rhian certainly felt like she should be from that little statement. "I wouldn't want to kiss anyone but you, Lauss-teacher, either!" She chirped happily, confident that her opinion on the matter wouldn't change in the least, no matter how much she or Lauss grew.
Ellandra tilted her head. "Well, I don't do the bookkeeping now, just the ticketbooth and that's temporary, I think. So since I dont' know what I'll be doing permanently yet, that's a little hard to say..." She trailed off for a moment to think, then continued, "But I think I will, Rhian and Ziazan could always babysit if they're needed, I suppose."

Whatever he'd just said had made her happy. And, oddly, that made him happy. He was just that special; the only one to receive Rhian kisses. He purred softly as she said the same, finally not minding the silence that had come over them both. The proto was content just looking at her, listening to her happy chirp, generally enjoying her presence. If only he could grow... Wait, what was it called when two people spent a lot of time together? Better than friends, not quite as committed as spouses... Courtly lovers, sure, but there was a more modern term. "A couple?" Yes, that was it. And that was what he hoped Rhian and he would be some day, when he fully understood what it meant.
"Oh..." Dang. No jobs there. But, what if... "You know... if you wanted... I could babysit." She shrugged, knowing full well children of all ages made her very uncomfortable, but also realizing that it was probably her best bet. That was what other girls her age did for money, right? Looking after Faolan and Ellandra's babies would be worth getting away from her family.

Rhian's eyes widened at that suggestion, and she chirped a happy, excited, "Oh, yes, I like that idea very much!" in response to Lauss' half-questioning declaration. This sounded like a very good idea to the flutterby; one that fit perfectly with how special Lauss-teacher was! The butterfly proto kissed Lauss on the nose again - she was really enjoying this being-a-couple thing, no wonder Sibling-Zi and Crux were so happy with each other, if it was anything like this was with Lauss-teacher!
Ellandra tilted her head. "Hmm. . . you shouldn't do something you don't like the idea of, Lee," she said thoughtfully, then squeaked a bit as she heard Lauss' couple statement from the other room, and she turned surprised grey eyes to the teenager sharing the front room with her. "Did - did Lauus just suggest - ?" She couldn't finish the question, but nevertheless this was just too adorable!

Wait, had he suggested it? It was an accident, but... it sounded nice anyway. Lauss nodded. It was settled. He purred happily at their accidental pairing. Lauss and Rhian. Those words fit together. "What sort of things should we do, then?" He was only book smart on courting, which he saw was nothing like today's practices. But Rhian seemed knowledgeable about such things. She'd make them a good couple.
Lee slumped in her seat, thinking through her earlier idea. Not the best plan, perhaps. The girl turned her head at Ellandra's surprised look, only half listening to what Lauss had said before. But the two protos seemed quite happy. Had he said... "a couple"? Nooo, he couldn't have. He'd have no idea what that even meant. But... "Wait, Lauss and Rhian? Together?" Was that even possible? They were only a couple months old! She stared back at Ellandra, just as shocked. Wow. Lauss has a girlfriend already. And I've been around for seventeen years. This is pathetic. She laughed a bit as she looked the two over. This would make their growths rather interesting, and hopefully not as awkward as she imagined. But that silly mind-reader would be over all the time now, wouldn't she? "We might end up being in-laws..."

The flutterby thought for a long moment. What, exactly, should they do? There were lots of things she knew of, but most of them would hav to wait until they grew - after all, it wasn't like they could go places and do things together like ellandra and Ellandra-husband did. So what could they do for now? Well . . . at last, she did finally think of a response, though she wished she had something better to say. "I think right now we just do lots of kisses and nuzzles, and visit each other a lot! When we grow we'll be able to do more things. . . so now we have even more of a reason to grow!"
Ellandra blinked several times before her hand rose to her mouth as she tried not to laugh. "They really don't know what that means yet, I don't think," she said quietly, a few giggles sneaking past her despite her efforts. "But I'm sure they'll work it out somehow," she paused and looked at Lee, "Just like you will." The pregnant brunette didn't elaborate on what she meant by that, and she wouldn't unless Lee asked - but she meant that she hoped Lee would work out all of the difficulties that were facing her in her life. . . and she hoped this cruch on Faolan sorted itself out soon, for everyone's sakes.

Okay, that was easy enough, and actually sounded like fun. He'd have to do the nuzzling, and she'd do the kissing. They made a good team. When they grew up, though, what would that mean? They'd see each other more often, perhaps, and he'd be able to kiss her, but those were the only things he could think of. Perhaps a nice, long talk with Misha was in order. Or perhaps there were books on this subject. For now, Lauss would have to stick to his only source of knowledge on the "dating" process: courting. "Miss Rhian, I believe I'm suppose to give you a gift of some sort. What would you like?" He didn't have any umbrellas on hand, and would have to improvise if she asked for anything not within a few feet from the vardo.
Lee nodded to Ellandra. They were both so clueless. But hey, it was cute, so she wasn't about to stop them. The girl cocked her head at Ellandra's comment, not fully understanding what she meant. There was something Lee didn't know, but would work out eventually? What was that? Or rather, which thing was she referring to? Instead of asking for an explaination, she looked into her lap and listened to the protos not-so-well-thought-out thoughts on dating. Coughing a bit before speaking up, Lee turned to Ellandra and tried to lighten the conversation a bit. "Is your head ache better?"

"Hmm..." Rhian said, thilting her head as she lost herself in thought for the second time in just a few minutes. "A surprise gift! But you can wait to give it to me until we see each other again, okay Lauss-teacher? That way you have time to pick it out!" So saying, the flutterby planted another kiss to Lauss' nose. She really enjoyed doing that!
Ellandra smiled weakly. "Not really, but it's ignorable," she said quietly. "And I wouldn't want to ruin your visit - or Lauss and Rhian's enjoyment - by an inconvenient headache." So saying, th brunette chewed on her lip for a moment as she thought. "Though I'm not sure I have much else to talk about," she added, though she didn't mention that she would have had more to talk about with Lee if it didn't upset her to hear about Faolan, or the babies, or anything that reminded the teenager that the man she was crushing on was married.
