Ziazan pulled its sister closer, stroking at her antennae soothingly. Smart little bug, it thought. Good job not speaking and breaking the magic. It watched its "parents" intently, rainbow eyes glittering like gems in the soft lamplight of the room, looking less a child and more of a spirit taking part in the old magics.
Faolan pulled a small portion of the deck aside as Elle pulled her own portion. "This is kinda where it gets a bit tricky." He sifted a random card from the portion he held in his hand and showed it to Ellandra. Strength. "Here's my end of the parenting. A good sign for my role as a father, I think, eh?" He gestured for Elle to do the same with her portion of the cards she'd taken.

Rhian didn't feel the same connection that her sibling did, being limited to sensing emotions, to better aid her in her purpose, but she could tell how deeply focused Ziazan was, and decided to simply remain still. She could ask her questions later, when this strange heavy feeling that pulled at her family had stopped.
Ellandra smiled softly. "I think so," she said, sifting through her portion, drawing a card and showing it to Faolan. She still didn't really know the meanings of them very clearly, preferring to let Faolan tell her as need came up, but "Justice" sounded like it couldn't be that terrible, whatever the meaning. . .

Faolan smiled. "Fitting. That definitely is how I think you'll be as a mother. The card means, um . . . harmony, equality, advice. It's the card of a considerate person. That's you, Elle." He moved pulled her down for a brief kiss before turning his attention back to the remainder of the deck in their laps. He put his hand over the cards left from their cutting. Letting out a soft sigh, he lifted the top card, then gave it a look. "Hm. Odd." He held the card up, then smirked and ended up pulling it and a card that had gotten stuck to it apart.
Holding them up to Elle, he chuckled. "We're gonna have twins, lass. These two certainly didn't want to be apart. The Hermit and his Temperance." He placed the cards in Elle's hands.

"Twins?" Ellandra echoed, hardly daring to breathe. Then her face broke into a brilliant smile. "I think we are both going to get our wishes," she said as she looked at the cards in her hands.
Rhian looked at Zazan curiously, feeling like it might be all right to speak now. "What does "twins" mean? Is it something good? And can I have the treat now please?"

Faolan nodded, staying silent on his thoughts of what their kids would be like. At least they'd have each other, but he knew his cards and there was something more to than just telling what sort of children they'd be having. He'd think on it later, though, wanting more to just be with his wife. After gathering the cards up again, he stretched to the side and set them on the nightstand, then settled back on the pillows, hands resting on Ellandra's hips where she still straddled his own. His fingers drummed lightly against her thighs.
Ziazan uncurled itself, cat-like, from the the chair, taking Rhian with it as it left the room. It didn't need to be told that it's parents wanted time alone. After shutting the door, it went to the table and let Rhi perch on a chair near the cotton candy. "Twins means Mama's gonna have two babies. It's a good thing. No worries." It sat down in the chair opposite the one Rhian was perched on. "Eat your cotton candy and let's give them some time alone."
