Electric_Tok TINSTAAFL In all honesty, I'd throw all these things away if I knew I could finally find that place I've always wanted to be. And that's the Victorian Era. Welcome back Tok! Your new piccas on devart are really cute! whee Oh why thank you! (and I think I would too....but first I'd have to move to my favorite place, so I could be near the people I want to talk with all the time) Oh we can move too? surprised I was just gonna settle my paradise anywhere I could find suitable. xd City, or countryside. I could find my heaven anywhere really. I'd wanna meet Walt Whitman face to face. Related to topic:Who would you guys like to meet from the Victorian era?

I'd rather just be there, and probably have my amazing friend with me, who turns out, likes steampunk as well!

Modern music, if nothing else. If I had things to do, I wouldn't miss the internet or TV too much. But my music... don't go~! I might miss my channels like Nat Geo, but that's what airships are for! I'll just go and explore on my own! And mah books. I love Neil Gaiman too much. xd
But given the opporotunity, I would probably go to a steamy world, if only for a little while.
EDIT: Pads & tampons.

Xander_Telmis Actually, a steam powered air conditioner is completely possible. Just replace the internal electric motor with an external steam engine and you're done. And the new thing in the major thing in the steampunk community is finding a way to make modern items work in a Victorian setting. A steam generator can be used to make electricity for any thing that can't run on steam, so the iPod, the computer, and many other modern conveniences are possible. You just have to look at the bigger picture. I would have to say video games. While higher technology would be possible, it would probably be relegated to military-use or only be affordable by the rich. I would hate having to give them up.
'Tis as though you read my thoughts, sir.

Could not pads be made from wool? Itchy.
I would love to. I don't have airconditiong because where I live it is far too cold; sitting around a fire with a glass is quite the nightly routine for me. This computer is just a way to occupy myself because I'm not a regular in any form of society and that is mostly due to the lacking of any interesting kinds where I could be apart of. I don't wear machine made clothes and I have never gotten sick so I don't I would mind at all.
I would want to meet everyone.

She is Never Forgotten Could not pads be made from wool? Itchy. For a luxorious touch, why not linen or cotton? Wool is so last millenia.

Oh, those have been around for quite a while. ;] They were just more difficult to obtain... and less reliable. And I doubt they came (pleasantly) flavoured.
