Irissë laughed again, "There's nothing wrong with being gay. They say love is blind so..." she turned pink and stayed silent. Needless to say, Irissë was a hopeless romantic secretly dreaming for that one cervitaur to carry her into the sunset. She shook her head violently, and stared at Aubrey, the blush more prominent. "Ah..."

"I didn't say there was anything wrong with it. I just said I'm not." Aubrey chuckled. How'd he gotten himself into this kind of talk with such a female? He frowned as Irisse shook her head forcefully. Had he said something wrong? Now she was staring! "What?" He asked, scratching his neck awkwardly. He wasn't used to being stared at.

"Ah...nothing, nothing." Irissë looked down at her half-eaten pie, and slowly took more bites from it. The sweetness of the pie calmed her down somewhat.

Aubrey looked around the kitchen before smiling and nodding. He picked his plate clean before sighing with contentment. "Would you like me to get a slice for you to take home?" His eyes shown for a playful moment. "You can show it to your mom and say there's a guy out here trying to seduce you with sweets." Judging from his limited information, she would never say such a thing to her mother.

Irissë couldn't help but laugh, it was too funny, "Oh yes," she said trying to breathe, "She would get a pitchfork and try to kill you." fanning herself, she took a small sip of the milk. "I would love a slice though. It's wonderful."

Aubrey smirked as he got another slice ready. "Maybe it would help if you told her I own my own home and am extremely handsome?" He laughed as he set the slice into a small container that barely held the giant slice he'd given her. He put the top on and gave it to her, settling himself down with another slice of his own. "So where abouts do you live, if I may ask."

Irissë continued to laugh, "Yes. But since you are a centaur, she would be extremely displeased." she sobered up, tapping the side of the container slowly, "I live on the outskirts of town. That big house you see with the neatly trimmed and pruned bushes? That's where I live." she sighed, "My family's pretty uptight..."

Aubrey froze with a bite of pie halfway to his mouth. "That house is yours?!" His eyes flashed quickly around his own messy and small home, blushing suddenly. How was she even letting herself sit in such a place when she had a home like that?
"Sorry, I didn't mean to yell. I just- er- I guess I'm being a bit rude. I never thought someone from that place would be so nice." He lowered his eyes bashfully for acting so judgmental. He was still wondering why she wasn't wrinkling her nose at his home.

"I-is that bad?" Irissë blinked, slightly confused at his change in behavior and guessed he had some prior experience with her family members. She shook her head, "It's alright. There's no need to apologize. I guess you've met my mother? Which is why your acting so funny...?"

Aubrey scratched at his neck, quickly swallowing the bite of pie he'd finally taken from the fork. "No, it's not bad at all!" He shook his head. "No, I haven't met anyone from that house. I just- well- usually, taurs with nice houses like that... are stereotyped as snobby. I was just startled to find someone like you to disprove that theory. Where I came from, a big house was equal to a big ego."

Irissë nodded slowly, "Oh." she felt slightly hurt, not knowing of that stereotype. Even if it was true with most of her family, she never knew that others expected them to be snobby. "I see." she said simply, not knowing what else to say, she played with the lid.

Aubrey mentally kicked himself. This is exactly what he had been worried about. He saw the hurt plainly. What could he say?
"See? There was reason for me to apologize." He searched for something better. "Hey, maybe it's just me, and where I'm from. I bet there's lots of others who don't think the same way." He stopped himself before he could start rambling. He hoped she wouldn't be too mad at him.

"What?" she shook her head again, "No, no. I-I'm not angry. Please don't worry." Irissë looked at Aubrey, feeling slightly skeptical. He was just trying to make her feel better she decided, playing along she nodded, "I guess so."

Aubrey kept his eyes down. She might not be upset, but he was with himself. He should have let it go, or not told everything.

Irissë looked up, a small blush on her cheeks and her eyes wide open, "...Do you really think so?" she asked her voice shy. "I'm not..." she trailed off, looking at her hands again. Now she was probably starting to sound proud that she wasn't snobby. Which was probably snobby either way.
