"I thought I'd get some chicken strips and baked yams," Faolan chuckled, leaning down to obliging the kiss. "The bed's made if you want to hang out in there. I'll be back soon." He shuffled on out the door with the armload of laundry.

Ellandra nodded and said, "I-I'll be waiting." Truthfully, waiting in the bedroom sounded rather nice, particularly since she could lay down on the bed for a few minutes - panic attacks were tiring, after all. So she made her way to the bedroom and curled up on the bed on top of the blankets, not wanting to disturb its just-made state. She sighed contentedly, smiling as Rags - who must have barged his way back in earlier, or snuck in as Faolan went out - jumped up on the bed and curled up next to her.

Ziazan, not wanting to be left out, fluttered down and flopped on the bed beside the young woman. "Showers are supposed to be relaxing. How come you and Fao are so tense after it?"

Ellandra sighed softly, stroking the cat with one hand and touching one of Ziazan's wings with the other. "Keagan found us in there together. . . I - I had a panic attack; Faolan wasn't happy either. . . " She sighed again and closed her eyes, her tiredness painfully obvious. She wasn't sleepy, just. . . tired. If she could just lay here all day, she wouldn't mind one bit.

Zia pouted. "Did he hurt Faolan?" Not that the Essentic could really do anything about it as small as it was. "What's a panic attack?"

"No," Ellandra said quietly, not opening her eyes. "At least. . . not while we were all in there. . . and. . . a panic attack. . . it's. . . . kind of like Faolan's heart problems, you could say. Just a little. I. . . I get really, really scared, sometimes with no reason, other times with a reason but I react badly... I get to where I can't breathe, and my heart will race a lot - it's not anything that's dangerous, though..." Well, not really. Though she had passed out from them a few times in her life; it was nothing compared to what Faolan lived with. Her problem was just because of fear getting out of hand, nothing more, nothing less.

Ziazan shuffled closer on the bed. "Why were you scared? Because of Keagan? He's a teddy bear. Mostly." It put a wing on the woman's shoulder, eyes closing slightly. It wanted to know the woman was alright, that she wasn't going to pass out. Eyes widening, Zia looked up at Ellandra. "No more panic attacks."

Ellandra opened her eyes then and blinked at Ziazan. "I'll try, Ziazan," she said, stroking it along the wing it was touching her with. "That was the first one in a long time. . . and a bit worse than usual." She smiled softly at the tiny proto, assuming its worries were only because of how bad the attack had been.
"I can't really control when they come, but it's usually just when I'm stressed - so there's nothing to worry about, little one..." She didn't want little Ziazan to worry, the dear little one, it had been through enough without worrying about her - and goodness, Faolan alone took enough worrying for two people anyway!

The front door opened and Fao stood just inside, finishing some conversation with an unseen person outside. "I don't know why anyone should be shocked. Seriously. Besides, it's not exactly the carnival's business. And stop laughing." He shut the door, coming the rest of the way in and set two trays laden with food on the small table in the front room. "Elle, Zia, Rags . . . dinner is prepared." He stood there beside the table, one hand one as if he had been the one to actually cook the food, grinning his usual mad grin.
Zia fluttered into the room and perched on Fao's shoulder, hugging the man's neck. "I have a secret," it purred in its owner's ear.
"That's like saying the sea has fish, little one," Faolan chuckled, used to the little Essentic being cryptic.

Ellandra sat up and rubbed at her eyes a little, smiling softly. "That didn't take long," she said quietly, thankful that her voice had steadied out again. The brunette tilted her head a little, and then rose to her feet, crossing into the front room and blinking at Faolan and Ziazan, then at the table beside them, where a certain speedy and sneaky cat had leapt up and was gnawing on a chicken strip. "It seems like Rags has first choice?"

"Sneaky b*****d," Faolan said without malice, lifting the cat up. Rags was determined to keep his chicken as the young man moved him to the small, well-worn couch they kept in the front room. "Well played, sir cat. Eat your spoils." He looked back at Ellandra with a smile. "You get second choice, then. I brought plenty."
Zia looked up at the woman, it's eyes narrowed slightly, knowingly. "Eat well. You'll need it."

Ellandra giggled at the cat as he chewed delightedly on his chicken strip. "Silly thing," she said softly as she walked by, scratching Rags behind one grey ear and ignoring the dirty look he gave her. She was halfway to selecting her own food when what Ziazan said registered with her. She paused, one hand poised over the chicken perfectly as she blinked, blinked again, and mouthed a 'what?' to herself. Then she turned away from the food and tilted her head at Ziazan. "What do you mean, little one...?"

Zia didn't answer her. It merely looked at Faolan. "You should marry her. Soon."
Faolan looked up from gnawing on his own chicken strip, half of it still in his mouth (not unlike the couple's pet cat). His ears were perked up and eyes wide. "Wha?" he asked around the chicken.

Ellandra blinked again, the pieces of what Ziazan said starting to weave themselves together in her mind - she wouldn't be able to write mystery thrillers without the kind of mind that could put pieces of things together. And what Ziazan had said to her, then turned around and said to Faolan. . . N-no. . . she must have just - just heard wrong. . . r-right? The Proto couldn't mean. . . her mouth ran dry and she knew she'd probably gone a bit pale as she sank down into the nearest chair, all thoughts of eating forgotten for the moment. "Z-ziazan... do you mean..."
She didn't finish her question. She couldn't quite manage it. After all, she and Falan had only just - but this was Ziazan talking. . . so . . . so maybe. . .?

Zia just smiled and nodded. "I'm almost pretty sure that's what I'm reading."
Faolan looked from the Essentic to Ellandra. "I'm missing something here, yeah? Either of you want to clue the big stupid guy in?"
