And this time I want to add a vote for Elffromspace. I had read her posts in the forums, but had never talked to her and never realized what a cool person she is. Aaaaand, she runs the coolest clan on Gaia!

EDIT - Since the 5 of us won 2nd place in a tie, does that mean we get to pick a ptize from category 1? If yes, can I pick the Sexy Crimson Split Dress? I think that was the name of it. Hehe.

I dont know what to say. I feel terrible that this is happening, but I do need to say something and I hope it doesnt jeopardize my standing in the clan. I work hard for this clan, accepting trades and donations and posting them, hiding items for the Scavenger Hunt, hosting parties and themed crews and attending every function and doing everything Elf asks me to do. I have brought a lot of new Gaian members into the fold. I love this clan so much that I even invited my real life family and friends to join. But to criticize them and penalize them for their votes in unfair. Everyone in this clan has the ability to vote as many times as they want (for that extra point), for whomever they want, but most of them dont want to vote for more than one or two people, then they complain that the people who do vote win. My real life family and friends are not the only people who vote for me, they all vote for their friends too, and are not criticized for it. It doesnt seem fair that my family and friends are being penalized for voting for the only people they know in the clan.
I have been told by several people that members will talk to them a few times, then when they think they have found a new friend, they vote for that person, then never hear from them again. I will not mention names in a public forum though.
I understand why I cant win every time, regardless of how many votes I get, as that wouldnt be fair. But I think I deserve every vote I get as I am friendly to everyone and talk to them more than a few times. I dont make friends with every one to get a vote, but it makes me feel good to know that people think that highly of me.
Maybe you (Elf) could set a price range for second place winners. I think that is only fair. You announced them as winners, so please do not penalize them. As I said before, they vote for the only people they know in the clan, and its not just my little group they vote for, some of them voted for other people who were nice to them. They cant play zOMG because of an old computer or lack of time, but they participate where they can, which is more than a lot of people do.
I really hope I have not made anyone mad, that is certainly not my intention, I am just giving my opinion. Thanks for listening (or reading! Lol!)

I'm sorry if it sounded like I was penalizing anyone! I did not intend that! I actually just logged onto the mule to figure stuff out and start gifting. I've been kind of distracted, so I was taking my time with this, I'm sorry I've been so slow!

I was thinking about it and trying to decide what I wanted to do with that many 2nd place members. It would be difficult to give each of them a top level prize. Instead, I will allow them to pick anything from the top catagory 1, OR anything they wish up to 10K! da_simple I'll let you change your selection if you wish, or I can gift the megapack. Sexycindy, the dress is on it's way.

SO! Anyone who won the 2nd Place pick anything from Category 1 or up to 10K and I will buy it!

As for the voting process, no-one has done anything wrong, nor should anyone be disapproved or or penalized. HOWEVER, I feel that the original intention of this contest has strayed. The purpose is to reward people who are active in the clan, who help clan members in zOMG, and chat and make friends in the clan threads. I've found this contest VERY helpful in the past because sometimes members of the clan are super active and nice, and happen to help everyone but myself, so I notice this when they get lots of votes!
I am very glad to see people bringing their friends and family to the clan! But, fo rthe next month, I would like for people to try to vote, not just for their friends, but for people who have helped and been active in the clan. When I write up the next round of the contest I'll try to be a little clearer on the new voting recommendations.
