User Image After searching for a time he found a building that suited his search parameters. His hands came to lay on the door for a moment before he took a breath and pushed it open, letting light into an area of the building that probably had not seen such in some time. Claris's steps were a little more cautious now as he made his way into the building and began a sweep of the rooms.

It took awhile before he found a room that he felt sure about and in it were the remains of a babies bedroom, the crib empty with a cradle on the floor off to one side. He smiled briefly before kneeling down as he began to rummage about, looking for a doll or anything of the sort. It was his hope to agitate anything that resided here enough to reveal itself and let the real fun begin.

Continuing out on her own, Nikki made her way through the streets of town and rather far away from the group. She didn't need any of the others getting in her way, after all. Darkfeather ruffled his feathers as he looked around while remaining perched on his trainer's shoulder. It was said that Pokemon were in tune with forces beyond what humans could sense. He could tell there were ghosts around, yet he didn't seem all that perturbed.

Eventually Nikki's wandering led her to a graveyard. She paused and peered at it from the road for a moment. It was a bit cliche, but if there was a place to find ghosts, it would be there. She she moved to go through the gate, Darkfeather clacked his beak in warning. It was his way of telling her to be careful. However, she knew that if he felt it was too dangerous he would let her know.

The order had finally been given to get started? 1337 stood up even straighter and looked towards the desolate buildings. It was definitely a playground for ghosts. Not forgetting what his momentary partner had mentioned, he responded to her comments rather quickly.

"Don't worry. I don't plan on dealing with your Senka much. Your Pokemon, not mine. And, the only use a Pichu would really have for me is to act like a Battery."

With that out in the open, and with the time finally being right, he reached into the small side-pack he was wearing. When his gloved hand was fully visible again, it was holding a Pokeball. After pushing the button towards the center of the ball, he tossed it to the side, where his Pokemon appeared in a flash of light. It might have seemed odd to not call out something like "Come out," but let's face it, 1337 was not the most emotional with creatures such as Pokemon.

When the light faded, what looked like a blue claw made of metal was hoovering over the ground. It had one crimson eye, which looked up slightly. Around what could be equated to the "wrist" of this Pokemon's claw were many 0s and 1s. This Beldum gathered all the data it could before floating up a bit higher to get a better look at things.

Rather than supply introductions, 1337 instead went into business mode. His left hand began to move about as if typing again, but at the same time, his gums flapped as he spoke up about his analysis of the situation.

"I believe your suggestion of going into the buildings is an excellent one, but even then this does not guarantee that any of the ghost types will be visible. This is where the Beldum comes into play. Beldum is a magnetized Pokemon. It will project a small magnetic field around it. One common trait that can be observed when dealing with Ghost-type Pokemon is that they have some sort of "aura" to them, even when invisible."

He paused for a moment so he could finish typing out the basic commands with that left hand, then set his hand to his side as he resumed talking. "Beldum can guide us in the direction of ghost types by pointing out any uncalculated disturbances in its magnetic field."

At this point, the Beldum hoovered up to a height that was approximately aligned with Nadali's Pichu. It's large crimson eye seemed to stare, unblinking, at the mouse Pokemon.

"After locating the ghost types, Senka can weaken the other Pokemon with its special attacks, and after that, we can capture them." He grinned a bit before adding a final: "Any questions, RECKLESS, dear?"

User ImageClaris' searching would uncover a worn doll buried in a pale blanket. Its vacant eyes were coated in a thin layer of dust, giving it an eerie corpse-like look.

Inspecting the doll wouldn't turn up any results. Aside from being a bit on the creepy side it seemed pretty unremarkable. As soon as he set it back down, however, it floated slowly upward. A moment later a pair of purple disembodied hands appeared clutching the doll, followed by a face and a body. Claris found himself confronted with a large haunter that didn't look very happy about having his room or anything in it disturbed.

"Haun haauntarrrr!" It shrieked, clinging to the shabby doll.

As Othello regained his senses, he started to become stubborn again. "Come on!" SEA had a leash tied around his waist and was practically dragging him through one of the old buildings. Though he didn't struggle Othello just planted all his weight onto his behind, making it difficult to move him. Fed up SEA released him. "Fine. If that's how you want it, just stay here. I'll be back for you later," she said, walking away. From previous experience he knew it was no use trying to run away, but at least he wouldn't have his master breathing over his shoulder all the time.

He started walking back down the hallway, a smirk of victory on his face, when he caught something moving from the corner of his eye. He turned to find a (rather large) haunter staring at him from behind a pane of glass. In the light, the ghost pokemon seemed even more eerie than normal to the young pokemon. "Yeah, I'm scary. I'm so scary, huh?!?" the haunter cooed, moving its claw like hands in a wave. Othello froze up in surprise and fell backwards onto his shell. The haunter let out a cackling like noise and disappeared farther into the room.

SEA, who had come back to retrieve her pokemon anyways, had witnessed the entire seen. She rushed over to the squirtle and stood over him. "Please don't tell me you're afraid of ghosts." Othello's response was to withdraw into his shell. SEA sighed and picked him up. "Well. At least now we have some prey," she said entering the room after the Haunter.

User ImageHis short comments caught her a bit off guard, mainly because of the fact that he seemed so keen on getting to know her just moments before. Now, now it simply felt like he was brushing her off, though she tried to push that idea aside in her mind. Had that been the case, she rationalize, he would have picked someone else.

Yet, at his last comment, both she and Senka narrowed their eyes in thought, before he answered their question. The battery comment was merely to involve his pokemon, a heavy Beldum that floated silently before them. Nadali starred at it for a long moment, silenced by its presence, before grabbing her pokedex and flipping it open.

With a quick push of the button, she recorded the data for the pokemon and pushed her pokedex closed. Easy enough, she figured.

When that was done, the new grunt was given quite the surprise. Business didn't quite describe the show that 1337 gave, for Nadali was more intrigued by his strange gestures than the words that he really said. Of course, she still listened to what he thought was a good plan (and of course she couldn't argue against his logic), but she only could wonder just why his fingers moved like that.

When he asked his last question, however, her eyes darted away from his hands and straight to where his eyes would have been, had there not been a metal plate covering them. At the exact same moment, Senka narrowed her own eyes at the Beldum, appearing irritated and disinterested in the metal pokemon and its unwavering stare. Both girls took on the same irritated look, lips pursed and eyes narrowed, before Nadali took charge.

"Look...I love the plan, but let's get something straight. If we are to work together, I do love the fact that you can figure this stuff out. However, if you want us as a team to help you, you must understand that Senka will refuse to do anything unless you show a pinch of respect. So for her sake, let's not assume she'll do anything, aye?"

"Oh, and...Chatspeak...it's Nadali."

Meandering through the graveyard, Nikki at first saw no signs of ghost Pokemon. She was about ready to turn back when Darkfeather's feather stood on end. "Gey gey!" he squawked and flew off her shoulder.

Looking in the direction that he had gone, Nikki then caught sight of a floating ball surrounded in purple mist bobbing up and down beneath the shade of a weeping willow tree. It hovered over an old grave and turned to look as Darkfeather and his trainer approached.

The Gastly itself seemed to be rather melancholy, its large eyes slanted downward in a sad expression. It then looked back at the grave that it was hovering over and gave a mournful, "Gaaaastly."

Well, this was it! A smirk formed on Nikki's face as she readied a Pokeball. "All right Darkfeather. There's not many options here, so go at it with a Gust attack!"

Flapping his little wings, the Pidgey instantly stirred up a swirling gust of wind that blew at the levitating ghost. It knocked the Gastly about in the air and it shrieked with displeasure, its tongue waggling out of its mouth and casting a hateful glare in a Mean Look attack.

The steel-type Pokemon, once content with the analysis it had done of the Pichu, floated itself closer to the ground again. The Beldum then sent out a small magnetic pulse directed towards its trainer, which thanks to 1337's visor, was translated into binary which appeared on the interior screen before the grunt's eyes. For a moment, the man was distracted by this sequence of 0s and 1s, and he mentally deciphered the meaning of the binary code. It seemed like PWN'D agreed with the other agent.

Bringing up his left hand towards his forehead, he chuckled a bit. "Oh, I'm sorry about that! I forget that some Pokemon have much more emotion than others." His choices in Pokemon were usually selected for their abilities with machinery more than anything else, and his Beldum was no exception. Moving his finger away from his head, he reached into the same pouch he had pulled the Beldum's Pokeball from and pulled out a Pokeblock dispenser. Flicking one piece of the candy out into his hand, he held it towards the one shoulder of Nadali's that was furthest from the electric rodent.

"I apologize for my word choice earlier. I don't expect you to respect me, but I would appreciate professionalism in regards to this mission. In the same manner, I will be as professional as I can be to you in regards to this mission." If anything, his apology was faulty, but about the furthest extent he'd probably go to making anything work. If a Pokemon didn't cooperate in the mission, it more reflected its inability to take commands from its own trainer rather than holding a grudge against a person who normally shouldn't have control of the Pokemon anyways.

He didn't move his head, but his eyes did go to Nadali's face (though it wasn't like she'd be able to tell due to the visor). "Better, Nadali?" he asked, as if he was a child being told to apologize.

User Image Icy eyes narrowed immediately on the ghost Pokemon, rising to his feet at a speed that showed he was neither startled nor worried. His hand came to the ball at his side and withdrew it from his belt. The corner of his mouth upturned as he tossed the ball to release his partner.

"Let's do this Azra..."

Since there was no one else there to see his partner, it didn't matter all too much what 'it' looked like. The only thing really noticeable was the glowing ice blue eye that appeared in the darkness that stared the Haunter down as a low growl rumbled from the Pokemons throat. Claris smiled and crossed his arms over his chest as he readied himself for the fun that was about to begin.

"Azra... Taunt it now!"

The pokemon snarled out some indecipherable insult as it charged and brought a claw up to knock the doll out of the Haunters hands. Oh yes, that should definitely keep it good and angry and get it focus on Azra. That was the hope at least anyway...

Sierra leaned over, peeking around the corner of a building before proceeding. Up above, Celeste still wheeled and soared, her sharp eyes scanning the ground for any sign of movement that might alert the pair two the appearance of a ghost Pokemon. The human slipped into the deserted alleyway, unsure of whether to be relieved or disappointed at finding nothing.

No, wait, she was here for a reason afterall. If she kept avoiding the issue of fighting and capturing the ghost types, even if she was at a disadvantage, the problem wouldn't simply go away. She reached up to tuck her long stands of black hair behind her ears, then had a better idea. Best to keep it all out of the way while on a mission. So, she paused in the alley to tie her long hair back.

She may never have noticed anything was amiss...if not for the low, menacing 'heh heh' chuckle from behind her head that suddenly sent chills down her spine. Sierra whirled around, her foot catching on a discarded cardboard box of trash as she hurriedly backpedaled. She let out an involuntary squeak, cut off as she hit the ground and scrambled backwards. The grinning Gastly, only half visible through the wall he was peeking from, cackled at her plight before drifting into full view.

Before Sierra could think to react further, a shrill shriek cut through the air and the wind began whirling through the alleyway. The wind was creating mini whirlwinds in the enclosed space, picking up dust and debris in the process. A brownish streak swooped between Sierra and the Gastly, and as it slowed, the sight surprised the Rocket much more than the sudden winds had. Celeste?!?

Eyes flashing, the Pidgey flapped her wings to stir up another Gust Attack and send it towards her foe. The female Pokemon hadn't hesitated at the sight of her human in danger, diving to place herself in the midst of battle if it would protect Sierra.

The Rocket was too shocked to react at first. Was this the same docile little Pidgey that perched on her shoulder and cooed while nuzzling her cheek? Not that it could be any other. Still, for a small Pokemon, Sierra had to admit, Celeste had a lot of power behind those little wings.

Unfortunately, little Celeste's fury could only do so much at this point. The Gastly had braced itself well against the pounding winds and seemed to be charging up for some sort of attack of its own. Sierra shook herself out of her stupor, quickly scrambling to her feet. "Celeste! Give it a good Sand Attack! If it can't see us, it can't hit us!"

Trilling high and sharp to signal she heard and understood, Celeste shifted her attack, dropping lower to sweep her wing along the ground. The dirt and sand stirred up followed along in the bird's wake. Celeste dropped further, coming to a quick landing, then flapping her wings forwards to throw the whipping sand and wind at the glowing ghost Pokemon.

Azra's taunt definitely did the job. The haunter balled its clawed hands into tight fists. "Hauntar!!" It bellowed, glowing slightly. With surprising speed it soared toward its opponent and opened its mouth to fling its tongue at Azra in a lick attack.
PostPosted: Mon May 18, 2009 10:54 am

User Image His partner eyed the Haunter as it came closer and shuddered violently when the tongue touched 'its' form. While the attack did minimal damage it was the fact that it carried a high tendency of paralyzing, that caused Azra to shudder. Fortunately, this time 'it' had been lucky and the only visible glowing blue eye seemed to narrow in anger.

"Azra..."

Claris didn't need to finish the command as Azra brought a claw to lightly tap on the ground in front of the haunter before pointing at the cradle frantically, as if something bad had happened to it while the Haunter had been distracted. This was a set-up for the Faint Attack move, but Azra made no indication of it. 'It' really just seemed to want the Haunter to look at the cradle so the Ghost could do something about whatever 'Misfortune' had befallen it.

"Haun..?" The haunter took its eyes off the battle for a moment to cast a glance at the cradle.

((Since the Haunter took the bait I'm going to ahead and make the attack hit since it's technically a 'No Miss'. I did look it up first to see how it worked in the show, hence the distraction XD.))

User Image As the Haunter looked away Azras eye gleamed and 'its' claws came up with a great deal of malice. The Haunter and taken the bait and that would prove to be folly. It was also bad news for the Haunter due to the type disadvantage of Azras attack. The slash was followed up with a savage growl as a red and white orb flew through the air towards the Haunter.

Claris had hoped the single Faint Attack would do enough damage to put the Haunter into the majorly hurting zone. This would also probably be his best chance to catch the Pokemon. Had Azra successfully dropped the Haunter into a critical range, it was likely to run and if it did not it was not likely to take another hit. Beside that, the element of surprise was now his and he would not waste it.
