"Do I teach anybody?" Iri grimaces and rubs the back of her head with her free hand, the other making her naginata bounce up and down a little as she chooses her words. "Actually, I'm here to be taught. Though the Academy hasn't had a Kaze sensei as long as I've been here. I've learned quite a bit on my own, though, and from a few people who've been willing to give me directions in which to work. I don't even know who all of the current teachers are..." Iri's voice trails off as she realizes just how much she's been missing out on. "Oi."

The avian shakes her head as though to clear her thoughts and looks back at Syn. Her free hand goes to her hip and her head tilts in that curious bird manner. One wing twitches. An eyebrow raises. Then Iri gives a wild grin. Her violet eyes light up with mischief.

"Ahahah! I have an idea. There's not much left for me to do here. Not at the moment, anyway. I was thinking about heading back to the Kaze Dojo to do some training. Want to fly there, Syn?"

"Mmmm I dunno about flying. It'd be really high up, what happens if I fall?"

Syn cut the biggest puppy eyes at Iri and stuck her bottom lip out, seemingly on the verge of tears. She was scared, that much was apparent.

Turning around in mid-kick, Kaimen would feel a hard kick from no where, wherever he was in the Academy. He was behind him when he had talked to Mai, but promptly left turned afterwards and started drawing a map of the area.

"I wonder who all we'll get for training..."

He sighed and looked up towards the sky with a frown. Things were quiet.

Iri's own eyes went large with shock. She could not stand to see a little kid cry. To see anyone cry made her want to cry herself. Just an odd complex on her part. "No, no, no! It's okay! I've never dropped anyone before, promise! But we don't have to fly, either. We can do something kind of like it, though. Or we could take the train! Ever rode a train?"

Iri was not yet aware of Tutsumi's presence. For all she was aware, it was just her and the girl. She was just throwing out ideas and giving her most comforting smile. Anything to keep the kid from crying!

"Hmm. A race! On foot, no cheating. We'll see who gets there the fastest! Kekekeke~"

She tapped the top of her umbrella against the ground before swinging it over her shoulder and sticking her tongue out at Iri.

"I'm a lot faster than I look! I can fit in all kinds of places grown-up's can't, so I have more paths to choose from! I bet I can beat you, Big Sis!"

Violet eyes blink. "Sweets, that's twenty miles from here. I could do that, I'm sure, but could you? Maybe we should time who stays ahead the longest or something?"

Iri knows kids are hyper as hell. Part of why she never wants offspring of her own. With her luck, her children would be spawns of Satan on crack. But surely Syn can't keep up with a grown woman that used to travel for a living for twenty miles.

"How do you think I got here, Big Sis? A race! And you have to keep at least one foot on the ground the whole time, unless you're running. I could run a bajillion miles before I get winded. Hehehe."

Syn grinned from ear to ear, showing her teeth as she chuckled.

"Unless you're just a big chicken-lady~"

Oh holy shitake mushrooms. If this is the kind of energy she has before running here, what is she like at home? Maybe I should do this just to keep her in check.

And then, there's that last comment.

A wing twitches. Iri cocks an eyebrow. "'Chicken-lady', eh? Okay, kid, let's go."

Iri positions her naginata in a typical carry position, holding it behind her a little to prevent drag. Both wings fold very tightly to her back. She turns to face the Kaze dojo's direction and positions herself into a long stance with one hand touching the ground. She looks at Syn and grins.

"Ready?"

Syn's attention is caught by something else as she gets ready to race. She looks off in the forest and furrows her brow in thought before muttering something under her breath.

"Tut...sumi."

She shakes her head and grins at Iri again, getting down in the same position.

"Set... Aaaannnddgo!"

Iri barely hears the name. If it wasn't a familiar one, she wouldn't have recognized the muttered word.

Wait, how does she know--!?

Syn shouts and Iri takes off. Though her face doesn't betray a thing, Iri reaches out with her mind. She doesn't know much, but maybe the more experienced nin would know better than Iri what to do with the information.

"Tutsumi, you got a moment to listen? Either I've gone mad or this kid ain't right. You hear me?"

Even to this day, Iri always has to make sure that the mental link works. She hadn't known she was capable of such a thing until being taught the trick at the academy.

Syn takes off running after Iri, quickly falling behind. When Iri's out of sight, Syn snickers and makes her way to the tram. She heads inside and is quickly on her way to the Kaze dojo.

"She's almost too easy~"

Iri keeps running, thinking she's gonna teach the kid to call her a damn 'chicken-lady'. She slips past trees, jumps over streams, picks her way past thickets of bushes and briars, and is pretty much flying like a bat out of Hell. Metaphorically flying, of course. Iri's determined to fairly win so she can humble the kid. All the while, she's waiting for Tutsumi to answer, hoping the man isn't asleep or out of range.

After about four or five minutes of running, Iri notices something. She doesn't hear anyone else moving through the forest. She doesn't hear a little girl giggling or telling Iri to wait up. It's about that time that Iri skids to a halt and looks around. No Syn. No noises of a child trying to catch up. What she does hear, however, is the tram moving somewhere in the distance. Moving toward the Kaze Dojo.

A wing twitches. An anime-style vein pops out on Iri's forehead, while a large sweatdrop rolls down the back of her head. Gritting her teeth, Iri crouches low and then leaps into the air. A couple powerful down strokes and she's high enough to see the tram. She takes a quick look around, just in case, but doesn't see Syn on the ground.

"Oh, you dirty little kid. Never shall I have offspring! Never, damn it!"

Iri tries one more time. "Tutsumi, hello?" She looks over at the nearby dojo. If Tutsumi's there, he's not within her direct line of sight.

With a 'humph', Iri crosses her legs and settles on a cushion of air. Syn can wait a while. She should be entertained by the train ride. And what kind of trouble can she get in at the Kaze Dojo, anyway? Might even teach her a lesson, though Iri isn't sure what kind of lesson that would be.

Even Iri gets bored, though. After several minutes of no answer, and entertaining herself with floating upside down, Iri unfurls her wings and streaks toward the Kaze Dojo.

Nani? What's up Iri? And you know, you really could just call me Tut...most everyone else does.

He was actually at the Main Dojo right now, still drawing up his map. He wasn't within earshot before to hear anything from what either of those two girls were talking about from before, either that or he was really too engrossed in the map to notice them before.

It takes a moment to respond. When she does, her voice seems kind of quiet, as though it's coming from far away.

"You are so hard to get a hold of, Tut! Anyway, tell me, have you ever heard of someone named 'Syn' or 'Jii-sama', because I've got a whopper of a story for you. I'm hearing, seeing, even smelling and feeling things that aren't really happening. Help me, damn it! I haven't been trained for this sort of thing!

Iri isn't one to lose her cool. She just doesn't. However, she seems kind of panicky at the moment.

I'm sorry about that, Iri. I really am. As for those people, I can't really say they ring a bell for me. Maybe in a past life? If you want, you could come here and I could take a look at you two...or three...or whatever. What's going on other than that right now?

A frown furrowed itself into his forehead, not liking the sound of this at all. Wait...was Iri ever trained against Genjutsu? Oye, this could be bad...
