i had my period when i was 11 in 6th grade 2 months til i was 12 now i'm 15 and i always have to use tampons

I got mine in third grade and I was 9. I was at school and told my teacher, only i dont think she really believed me at first because she told me to sit down, but after a little while and I stand up she sent me home. I was crampy and pretty heavy I'm fourteen and in the eith grade.

5th grade, 10 years old. I was so nervous. I had a rough time telling my mom, but I knew I'd have to since I didn't know where the pads were. XD I don't know why on earth I was so freaked out. My mom told me before what it was.
Never used a tampon in my life. They don't sound like much fun in my opinion. I can wait to go swimming. XP

ugh...i got mine in 5th grade, i had just turned 11. the weird-a** thing was that we were having sex ed at that time, and we were talking about periods, and i was hmmm, what if i have mine and idk it? then i got home and my period comes. im convinced the teacher cursed me. >.< funny think that no one knew about it until i was 12. i have seriously light periods, so i get by on 1 pad a day. then there was the fun experience of having my mom find my pad. i cut myself and told her it was for my cut, and she believed me. hah...

i got my first period when i was 11 it was a friday and i was at school i was using the bathroom and noticed a little bit of red in my undies but didnt realize what it was so i went home and didnt say anything due to the fact that i was so embrassed so i spent the whole weekend not knowing what was going on until my grandma found my favorite pair of jeans in the landry basket complitly distroyred i was so embrassed i thought i would never live it down and to add insult to ingery so to speak my grandma went around telling eveyone how i had turned into a woman over night and she couldnt believe how the years had gone by so fast and that i was now a woman and all that crap redface

Oni-Angel I started my period at 12 or 13. I remember I was going to see "Mars Attacks" and it was the birthday party of a friend of my younger sister's. I started bleeding and the friend's mother helped me out and let me use her pads. It wasn't really scary or that painful. I just liked the "always" pads better than the stupid ones my mom always had at home, mostly because always pads had wings that would keep the damn pad where it was supposed to be, and it was like half the thickness of the other pads my mom had. That, plus the always pads have a plastic coating on the bottom, so you don't bleed through it. For awhile my mom tried to make me use "natural" pads that she had made out of pieces of cloth diapers. I was all, "I'm not wearing diapers!" and that was that. :X i cant use any other brand then always anything else gives me a rash for some reason but i guess its not all that wierd my best friend has the same problem

I was 12 and a half.
The first few months, I used pads and I thought that my life was hell. They always leaked and they felt soooo uncomfortable. Then I used o.b tampons...and life was good again. xd
o.b. has never leaked for me, and they are tiny and have great absobancy...I'm 18 now so I've been using them for years...

UURRRGGGHHH. I was twelve, in seventh grade. I had JUST got to my DAD'S house. And then I realized there was a bloody spot in my undies. And I kinda went OH s**t. Cuz My dad is...a guy. He had a roomate. Who was also a guy. And...yeah. But thankfully, there was a 7-11 right up the road.

i got my period when I was thirteen. I was at home, and my period was light. So I've had it for over a year. But lately it's been really heavy. ugh.
I usually use stayfree pads for daily use, and ob tampons for swimming. Only problem is that I can't use obs during the heaviest days of my period, because I can only use the smallest absorbancy because I'm a tiny little thing, and they have leaked even on the days that we'ren't the heaviest.
And to anyone on this forum who hasn't gotten there's, you are lucky. It's not glamorous. I remember wanting to get it (i used to be so obsessed with growing up), and then getting it. It's a pain in the a**, it's so unpredicable for the first year, and whenever I have my period, I'm kind of paranoid that it's leaking, because because my pads get all messed up during the day and end up staining my undies. And cramps are satan. I pop like 3 advil on the third day of my actual period (like when I'm getting it), and techincally I should only be taking one, but my cramps get so bad that I'm almost nausious sometimes, and want to skip school.

I got mine when I was eleven. I was spending Christmas break up in Idaho with my dad...and I was visiting at my grandma's house (where my mom was), and she and I were about to go for a walk with the dog. Well, about half way down the street I realised that I had to go to the bathroom...bad...so we ran home, and I was sitting there thinking "My god why are my undies red" before I realised I had started my period.
It's kind of funny because it was New Years Eve. It was nifty too because after that I went back to my dads and he took me on my "womans dinner". He and I went to a chinese food buffet and pigged out. Was fun.
I myself have never used a tampon- the whole idea of sticking something with a string attatched to it into my v****a is kind of disturbing to me.

I got my period two weeks before I turned 13. It was hell. I had a choir-performance the same day, and spent most of it sitting on the cold stone floor of a church. There was so much pain gonk . I never found singing in a choir as fun as before again.. The first couple of times were really painful, then it kind of eased up a bit, but lately it's started to be painful again. I don't survive my first day without painkillers..
I don't feel comfortable with tampons. At all. I use them only when I absolutely have to.
All in all, I've finally started to come to terms with my "once-a-month-friend" (as my boyfriend calls it). It only took me like 7 years..

I got my period a week before school for the first time. I was 12 at the time, I believe.
I had been just laying around the house then went to teh bathroom;
and saw all the blood on my panties. Terrible.
I didn't tell my mom though.
The next day I went to the doctors, and she asked if I'd started yet.
My mom answered for me and said no,
I had to correct her and say I started yesterday.
