With another shake of his head, he continued on his way. Maybe things would be more interesting in Dream Valley. They certainly weren't here in Nightmare Valley.

Daemon would have had a full five minutes of walking alone before a cute, blond pony wander across his path, looking lost. Raenef saw Daemon and flashed him a cute smile.
"Hi!" he greeted, cheerfully.

stare Great, Daemon sighed. Another perky pony. He contemplated ignoring this little bundle, but decided he was too bored not to. Besides, it was only the third person he'd come across since he woke up. His day couldn't get worse.
"Hello," he greeted.

"I'm Raenef," he introduced himself, then looked around. "Um, I'm lost."

"I gathered that," Daemon replied, wryly. "You wandered out of your valley."

Raenef cocked his head cutely, not understanding what that was supposed to mean. Rather than questioning it, though, he shrugged and went on. "Do you know where Eclipse is?"

"Boy, I know what an eclipse is, but I don't know who Eclipse is," Daemon sighed. He was seriously starting to wonder if there was any point in leaving his home. the world just wasn't interesting enough.

Raenef seemed to miss the subtle insult in Daemon’s words, and the frustration in his voice, instead focusing on the question. “Eclipse is my teacher,” he answered brightly. “He watches over me and makes sure I don’t get lost and protects me when things are trying to kill me and gives me tomatoes and he’s really patient with me and he’s lots of fun and he’s got long black hair and he’s always scowling like this,” he paused to try and scowl, but the result was very much like watching a kitten try to hiss.

Daemon twitched the smallest bit. Okay, the kid was cute, he’d concede to that. It was hard to argue against it, what with the evidence staring him straight in the face. He probably could have interrupted, but he wanted to see how long the other pony could carry on that one sentence.

“…but he’s really nice,” Raenef went on when he felt he had gotten his point across with the scowl. “He was supposed to go talk to Krayon about somethin’ and then come right back and I waited but he didn’t come back, so I went looking for him but the castle’s always changing and somehow I ended up outside and I don’t know where I am now.”

“You’re in Nightmare Valley,” Daemon provided, helpfully. The boy’s rush of words was confusing but oddly interesting. Daemon smirked lightly, wondering how long that was going to last.

“Is that the name of a town?” Raenef asked, looking around with renewed interest. “Looks like a forest to me.”

“No,” Daemon corrected, twitching again. Was the boy really that simple. “It’s a valley.”

“Fine,” Daemon agreed, not caring if the boy understood or not. He didn’t feel like throwing himself against the brick wall that was apparently this boy’s skull.
