DBZ? DBZ?!? You don't have to even watch a whole episode of DBZ to understand what's going on. Just watch the beginning and end. The 15 seconds of "Last time on Dragon Ball Z" and the ten seconds of "Next time on Dragon Ball Z" and you'll be good because all that middle stuff, waste of time.

DBZ is awesome. Case closed. It influenced well over 85% of most popular combat manga/anime that's out there.

DragonBall and DragonBall Z are 'popular' and 'best-sellers' only because of the sheer amount of bullcrap in each. In the entire series, the author never justifies when on Earth Goku learns to fly. He has that 'sky-dancing' crap early on in the series and then by Namek he's flying perfectly.
And for that matter, what about the '100-G room' concept? Even the best human will black out at four, five gees. Goku can take 100 easy? Give me a break. Even if he is, for example, fifteen times more powerful than an avrage human, he should still black out around eighty gees.
Final example of bullcrap: Goku vs. Frieza when Goku's underwater and fires off 2 Kamehameha and then just holds them there underwater as two orb of energy before firing them off one after the other at Frieza. Never used or hinted at before that scene, never used or mentioned afterwards, unless you count Krillin using his hands to slightly redirect his Kamehameha to a very small degree, but that's really not the same thing.
DragonBall Z is built around unjustified and unjustifiable material. End of story.
Can we get back to a discussion of BLEACH now? Please?

That's because it's an anime not real life. Anybody can tell you that. Downgrading it because you can't do it in real life? Give me a break. lol

Attempting to apply logic to any anime isn't going to end up well. The can do stuff because the script says they can. The bigger question is whether or not it's fun to watch. 3nodding
As for Bleach, I be waiting for the next chapter now.

Yeah; the statistic is more like 90%. I mean, I think it's HARD to find a shounen manga artist that hasn't read at least some of Dragonball. Even more, it came before a lot of other series, so it has, in fact, influenced a huge number of works either directly or indirectly.
The "awesome" part, of course, is a matter of opinion.

Give me a break. lol If by 'downgrade' you mean 'submit to logical, reasonable examination for literary stability' then yes, I am doing just that. If by 'can't do it in real life' you mean 'same circumstances as pretty much every other manga and anime on Earth' then yes, that too. Give you a break? Gladly, Jouka. Arm, leg, or neck?

I didn't read the upper sentence.
I meant give me a break of that kit kat bar. But feel free to bring your character to Jouka.

As per said Jouka's instructions, Shigoro is now waiting, pleasantly asleep from sheer boredom, in the Gungir Palace in Hueco Mundo.

Even more, it came before a lot of other series, so it has, in fact, influenced a huge number of works either directly or indirectly. The "awesome" part, of course, is a matter of opinion. Okay. 1. Shounen manga is not the only type of manga to have combat in it. There's plenty of other ones that do as well. In fact you can go and to onemanga.com and find a bazillion different titles of manga of which most are not influenced by dragonball or dragonball z whatsoever. 2.Also dragonball and dragonball z came out in the 90's. Guess what? Anime has been around since the 60's/70's. Anime just started getting imported to America during the 70's (Scrappy-Doo's fault, courtesy of Hana-Barbara). So know your facts before you start arguing/ debating. Now please return to topic discussion. If you have nothing to contribute to topic discussion, then move this conversation to a more appropriate thread, like the discussion thread that is specifically for this type of random conversations that stem off from the original (like doing a report on Chernobyl on Google and ending up on a page about Godzilla. How did this happen? It's related, somehow, through the seperation of seven degrees that is).
