Keeping her attention divided between the Jedi and the other senators, Relina only noticed the commotion on the Senator of Hapes' platform when Merl nudged her arm. Sparing a glance in that direction, Relina wondered who the being sitting in the advisor's chair nearest Aria might be.

Ignoring it for the moment, Relina chose to respond to the Senator from Bespin. "Senator, if you are going to call on recent history for evidence against the Jedi you must also acknowledge other history that shows their loyalty. Generalizations are an easy fallacy to make when none have the wit to see through them to the underlying issues."

Continuing, Relina says, "As for Hapes looking no further than their backyards I suggest you remember the disaster that befell their Battle Dragons the last time the New Republic called upon the Hapans for aide. The Battle Dragons were distroyed by a rogue shot from the Center Point station in my own star cluster. And we all know that shot was activated by a Jedi, even though it was triggered by another. If Hapes can find it in their hearts to forgive the Jedi this blunder I accuse you of being too cold hearted to be making acusations. Let the Jedi explain what they have discovered, if the troublemakers he speaks of were not Jedi, as so many of us blindly believed."

Volt listened carefully to all the arguements and then decided to speak once again. "Speaking of evidence, what evidence do you have that those *Jedis* were actual Jedis?"

In the background, Aria is vaguely aware of the Corellian senator's rebuttal in defense of the Hapan Consortium. Note to self, personally thank the Corellian Senator as soon as the meeting is adjourned... she thinks before turning her attention back to the stranger.

The Senator from Bespin narrows his eyes in response to the Corellian senator's reply. He bites his tongue, knowing he cannot dispute her argument, but his icy gaze tells her she has not won yet.

In response to the Jedi, the Bespin Senator only blinks and searches his mind for the right words. He...he...had a...lightweapon. You know, the ones only you Jedi know how to make, the dark-haired man looks to the Imperial Remnant delegation, hoping for a little help.

Volt closed his eyes in frustration from the incompetence of the Bespin Senator and then said, "A lightweapon? If you don't even know the name of the weapon, how could you be certain that it *was* a *lightsaber?* Like I said before, the blood of the Jedi have been spilled many times. They could have easily came across one and picked it up. Or perhaps they had just obtained the knowledge by someone who knew and began to manufacture their own." Once he was done, he slowly opened his eyes and stared in the direction of the Bespin Senator.

The Bespin Senator shrugs and waits for the Imperial Remnant delegation to comment, knowing they will have something to say that will blast the Jedi back to the crumbling temples they come from.

((LOL...yeah...I have no comeback. smile ))

((Alright then... ._.))

Seconds after the Bespin Senator was left speechless, a Senate Official rushed into the room and held up a holodisk for all too see. "The Chancellor has told me to come in with the evidence needed to prove that the Jedi are abusing their powers and are highly capable of these raids!"
Volt was tooken by surprise by the words of the man and began to worry that what he had in that disk will determine the fate of the Jedi. Once the disk was in place, the projector projected an image of Volt and the social worker who was working at the docks this morning. The Senate Official walked to the center of the room and said, "Here you can see the Jedi Knight, Volt, and the Docking Capitan! This was tooken earlier this morning!"
With a click of a button of his tiny remote, the holovid began to play.

"And where do you think you're going Jedi?" asked the social worker.
"I was sent to speak with the Senate...," answered Volt.
"Well, fine by me, but first you must pay the docking fee. That would be 50 credits..."
Volt, realizing he had no credits on him, turned to the Force for some aid.
"I don't need to pay the docking fee," Volt said tampering with the social worker's mind.
"You don't need to pay the docking fee...," said the social worker.
"You will take me to the Senate."
"I will take you to the Senate..."
"Lead the way."

With another click of the button, the footage froze and the Senate Official spoke again, "There you have it! The Jedi cannot be trusted! You have just seen this man, Jedi Knight Volt, who is here to represent the Jedi, use his power to his own gain! What is stopping the Jedi from abusing their power any further? They are very capable of these raids, and you have just seen some proof!"
Reacting on instinct, Volt shouted at the man, "The man was uncooperative!"
"It does not matter, you did that for your own gain!" the Senate Official replied.
"No! This is an outrage! Just because I did a foolish part on my behalf, it does not mean that all the Jedi will too!"
"So you admit that you did?"
"Yes! I admit that I did that!"
"Then what is stopping the rest of the Jedi to do so?"
"I... I... don't know..."
"My point exactly..."

*The lady outstretched hand almost reached the figure cloaked. But her hand never did. Something seem to be protecting him from her. Something...*

Something

*He whispered to Aria.*

"Aria... Tell that official that all this Jedi Knight did was a Jedi Mind Trick. A harmless skill which would not affect any permanent damage to anybody. In any case, using such power does not mean that the Jedi is capable of starting a war that had involved the death of many... "

*He deftly played a silver coin around his fingers.*

Aria raises an eyebrow at the man. Behind him, Aya's hand hovers but a few inches from him, the Captain's expression bewildered as she is unable to move any closer. It is plain to see he is a Force-User.... The Hapan Senator takes mental note and then turns her attention back to the stranger. He has still not presented himself nor has told her why he is here. However, what he is asking of her will help in the defense against the Jedi and all Force-Users for that matter. Jedi Mind Trick....she silently wonders. She has heard of such abilities, and though she has many questions for the stranger, decides to play along in hopes of answers later.

Turning back to face the Senate, the Hapan delegation requests the right to speak and is so granted.

I ask that the most esteemed Senate please stop pointing fingers for a moment so we can take a look at the facts. If our most loyal Official did his homework and informed himself of all the facets of the issue, he would have realized that the incident in question is a mere example of an old Jedi Mind Trick. It is a rather harmful ability that only really effects weaker-minded people and never does any permanent damage. The Jedi Knight Volt has admitted to using such an ability for such a trivial matter. We did not say they are perfect. They are just like the rest of us. This does not mean that the Jedi abilities are capable of starting a Galaxy-wide war.

Furthermore, the lightsaber proving the work of the Jedi is not feasible evidence for the reasons Master Volt has already stated. Nowadays, it is not so difficult to acquire such a weapon. If the Senate insists on continuing this trial,
Aria is sure to emphasize "trial" with a tone of dissatisfaction. ...then I suggest it come up with better evidence else we drop the issue and move on to more important things....

((Indeed. *rubs hands gleefully* Good thing I get done class at 2 today.))

Thinking a moment to gather her words, Relina decided to contend something the Hapan Senator said but aimed her words at Jedi Volt since it was really a question for him.

"Jedi Volt, as Senator Aria has stated we do not claim the Jedi must be perfect when dealing with other beings. Indeed, as I watched the hologram of your actions with the dock official I can think of some occasions where I or my staff used my Senatorial position to..shall we say bypass some of the mundane beuracracy of day to day activities. As I believe many others in this room have done as well," she added, letting her gaze sweep the room. "However, we are elected officials, given the responsbility of our people's well beings. It has been a long time since the Jedi have been given official responsibility, and this is in part due to the Senate's failure to address this problem as it arose and instead let it become as a tumor to our ability to protect the people who have put their trust in us. The Jedi were, as I understand it, never accountable to the Republic or to the New Republic after it. Their primary reason to be an organized group was the protection of the peace within the Republic. As history has shown us, the Jedi are skilled negotiators in maintaining the peace, but are decidedly lacking in the area of defense when it comes to attacks being mounted against them. The point, or question rather, I'm trying to state is merely what would allowing the Jedi continued governance over themselves continue to gain the Senate? You are not perfect beings, this has been established. Neither are the Senate, as individuals, but we act for the good of the people in our governance. Do the Jedi have the resources to become the protectors of the peace once again? Or has the Order been weakened by the recent strife throughout the galaxy?"

((I'm kind of hoping for a "we follow the Force and it has always been our ally in protecting the people of the Republic" response from Volt. 'Cause the real cause of the tention between the Senate and the Jedi I think has come from the fact that we -meaning the Senators- can't control what motivates you -meaning the Jedi. Just wanted to get into that a bit.))

Without even waiting to be acknowledged the Imperial Senator rose from his seat with one swift movement. He stepped towards the mic with a furious grace. "With all due respect to the Jedi, There is no way the 'jedi' are imposters. If they were then how did they aquire lightsabers? Or how were they trained in the force? That is like saying someone was impersonating a Stormtrooper. They would have to recive armour, a weapon and training for that to work. And everyone here knows that you cannot simply control the force with but your mind alone. You need to learn how to control it. I have read on your ways."

The man cracked a grin. "The lightsaber was not the only evidence. Bodys were hurled around, and things were reported to be floating. They even said they were infact Jedi. With the weapon and skills, it is very hard to dismiss." He turned towards the Corellian delegate, nodded around the room, and met her eyes with his. "As for not being able to weight the Jedi's faults without their loyalty... That is in fact silly. Many Jedi in past have denied the Republic and gone about their ways, hiding with their powers, not bowing to any form of government besides their own."

The senator respectfully bowed his head to the Senator. "Now that I have presented reasons of guilt, can the Master Jedi provide any proof of innocence?"

Relina bristled at her remarks being dismissed as 'silly' and didn't think a moment to allow Jedi Volt a chance to counter on his own behalf.

How dare he... "Admiral there could be quite a bit of significant difference between the Jedi Order and the perhaps rogue 'Jedi' who are being accused of purpotrating the crimes you just discribed. Yes, Jedi must be trained, but are they all trained by the Jedi Order? You are lumping all the Jedi in one group, Admiral, before even giving Jedi Volt a chance to explain how they govern themselves and state whether or not a Jedi may act on their own." Turning back to the Jedi, Relina says, "Jedi Knight, is it true that your Jedi Order is responsible for the training and governance of all Jedi throughout the Galaxy? And is there any other explanation for what the good Admiral has reported of the altercations?"

Relina could think of a few possibilities that might explain some of the details, such as precise manipulation of some mini-repulsor lifts, a trained swordsman, and perhaps some people willing to die to stir up anti-Jedi sentiment... It seemed too much a consiracy and not at all likely. Hoping that Jedi Volt had a plausible defense somewhere at his disposal, Relina waited for his reply.

*This time he spoke out to the Imperial Senator. He did not care. He is not suppose to be here. He had broken laws. But he did not care. He did not have to follow those Jedi rules anymore. After all... He is no longer a Jedi...*

"As far as I know. There is millions of Force User using lightsaber. The Jedi. The Sith. The Dark Jedi. Neutral groups. Or any fallen Jedi. Had have you any prove that this act belongs to the Jedi? Or any Force User?

Would it been people who had found a graveyards of Jedi with their lightsaber buried with them? Anyone here. Anyone would be a stormtroopers as long as they had a set of troopers armour and a gun in hand. Who would suspect them? They would walk in some street across Tatoonie and the villages would cower in fear. Stormtroopers or not. If the fake troopers open fire. Who would be the first to stand out and say, are you a real Stormtroopers? NO! No one would question them. If some white armoured guy put this gun on your head, would you know that he is not a Stormtrooper?"

...

"Does a report of bodies flying mean anything? Would it had been bribery? Is it true? Or is it false? For all you know it is all a conspiracy. We want prove. "

...

"Jedi in past have denied the Republic? Gone about their ways? hiding with their powers? Not bowing to any form of government besides their own? How old are you? Who are you to claim such nonsensical speech? All Jedi had learned, within the heart of the Jedi Academy, teachings and rules. Laws they had to follow... Codes they must remember. Things they had learn since they were just a baby. Things they had grown up with. And who are you to claim that they had not shown respect to the Republic and not bowing to any form of government besides their own? They had followed their rules and the republic rules since ancient times.

All Jedi was imbue with this loyalty. They called it, 'Honor the Jedi Order'. Of course this does not mean anything. But every action a Jedi does reflect on the Order. Poor behaviour does incalculable damage.A Jedi will never do a think to harm their order in anyway. In that recent attack, no Jedi would had been dumb enough to create such commotion to land their Order into trouble. Of course they might been Fallen Jedi or use to be Jedi... Just like what the Empire had done years ago. When they started a bloodlust war against the Republic..." *His voice full of sacrasm.*

"Secondly. 'Honor the law' are what all Jedi must acknowledge. To protect peace, they must be bound by those same tenets. No Jedi is above the law. A Jedi may break the law if he feels it is necessary, but he must then be prepared to accept the consequences of his crimes. Who claimed Jedi does not bow to any government? In fact if a Jedi commit a crime in any of those planets out there, they will readily face the music, knowing full well they must accept those consequences they had faced. Unless... The planets belong to the enemies that had waged wars with us."

"'Duty to the Republic'. The Republic and the Jedi Order are different. The Jedi hold no authority in the Republic. Nevertheless, the Jedi serve the Republic. The Jedi act to preserve the Republic, to uphold its laws and ideals and to protect its citizens. But they hold no rank in the Republic hierarchy. The Jedi serve when asked and stand aside at all other times. This arrangement between the Jedi and the Republic had been so old that no one can remember how or why it came about. The Republic has never had any trouble with the Jedi for thousands of years. Until the Empire came about... But of course all Jedi would support the Republic decision fully. They would had invited the Empire we open hands.

There are countless of Jedi teachings out there that shows that the Jedi would be incapble of such bloodlust. If you like to hear, I would name more. They learned this ever since they were a young child. What makes you think that the Jedi will do such a thing? Why hasn't things like that happened in the past or anything in history. Why did it happen only to this era. The era when the Empire merged with the Republic? When the Intergalactic were form. Had new found authority is used to destroy their age old enemy?"

*This speech would alone sparks war across the galaxies. But it doesn't matters. As far as he was concern he doesn't represent anyone, the Jedi or the Sith or anything. He is just a Force User defending the Jedi... For now...*

((Right on! 3nodding ))

Aria's jaw drops and she stares in awe of the stranger as he finishes his speech, inspired by his conviction and mystified by his enigmatic nature. It was a speech that would free the Jedi of the Galaxy, allowing them to peacefully and respectfully return to their own affairs until the Senate is able to pull its tail out from between its legs and beg the forgiveness of the Jedi it so accused. Whether this courtesy extends to all Force Users is another story. However, much to Aria's disappointment, things will likely unfold in a different manner. She doubts the Imperial Remnant will even consider allowing the Force Users their freedom and is sure they will find some way of swaying the votes of the majority of the Senate in their favor. Aria shakes her head slightly, knowing there must be another agenda...some secret reason (or not so secret) for the persecution of the Force Users. Whatever the case, Aria will do what she can to help the Force Users, understanding the position they are in and even identifying with them. Aria's brow furrows as her train of thought leads her to a possibility that she never saw before. Or perhaps she never allowed herself to see. I..identify with them? The implications of such a possibility are too much for her to handle right now so she pushes all thoughts from her head, forcing herself to focus on the situation at hand. She'll do what she must. Even if it means pulling out of the Senate...

Turning back to the stranger, it is her turn to wait. She sits, listening to the chatter of the other Senators in the background and allowing a part of her to reach out and get a sense of the general atmosphere; the other part of her turning to the man. She sits quietly, her clear blue eyes studying him, and waits....waits for some kind of explanation.

((Oh man... So... many... big words... can't... keep... track... losing sanity... DAMN YOU FABLE (so addicting)! I'm never going to stay away from this topic again... sweatdrop ))

Volt tried to answer all the questions that were addressed to him, but was always interrupted before he was able to even finish the first word of his statements.

"We--"
"Th--"
"Bu--"
"Fo--"

Eventually, he remained silent and let the Senate to argue amongst themselves. As he listened, he noticed they had brought up some great points. Points he was not completely prepared for. Though they were all great statements, only one really stood out for Volt, and that was the one from the stranger that sat in Senator Aria's plateform. He was dumbstruck beyond belief and without realizing it, his jaw had dropped! Suddenly, he was astonished and he felt a rush all throughout his body!

"That man is correct," his voice boomed and echoed throughout the room. "Who are you? Who are you to tell us what we can and cannot do? Too many Jedi have died protecting the people of this galaxy along side the republic to just throw it all aside like it was nothing, but yet people like you still point fingers and mock us by calling our way of life, 'just a simple religion!' We bring no harm amongst the innocent, we just bring justice! We follow the laws that you make and we mostly help when we are asked!

There is no emotion;
There is peace.
There is no ignorance;
There is knowledge.
There is no passion;
There is serenity.
There is no death;
There is the Force.

We live by that code! We have done so for many ages! No where in that phrase does it say that we could use our power to do wrong! But yes, I am ashamed to say that some of us do, but they are no Jedi..." He paused for a couple of seconds to catch his breath and then began again. "These written testimonies you've recieve say, and I quote, 'The lightsaber was not the only evidence. Bodys were hurled around, and things were reported to be floating. They even said they were infact Jedi.' Over the years, I have come to realize that people would say anything to get what they want. The greed that they contain drive them and their ignorance does not allow them to tell the difference between what are and are not reasonable, and this, my friends, is not reasonable!

The people of this galaxy are blind and who is to blame? The Jedi? No! They wont listen to the Jedi! Someone has poisoned their minds with word from a wicked tongue that have been repeated over, and over, and over again until those words were forever burned into their brains! This very someone has done the same with this mess about the Jedi!"

((Dun, dun, duuun! xp ))

*The Force Warrior returned to his stolen seat. He sat down. Having given new found confidence to the Jedi and members of the Senators who had fought for the Jedi rights... Yet, this trial is far from over. He needs to wait for the Imperial to walk within his nicely placed trap. Then he would defeat the Imperial with a final speech. But everything comes in time... Patience was the key to victory...

However, he already forsee the result of this trial. Even with a million words he might speak in defence of the Jedi. Their fate still ends up the same. Their destiny bound with the rest of the Force User. One world to signify their future. Exile ...*
