A herd leaders daughter! She was getting more perfect by the second. "Yes perhaps. After all it would do no good if you had stayed and been offed by some vengeful mare." He stated. No good at all. "A herd that cannot be loyal to eachother is worthless to a leader." He snorted.

“Indeed, what good is a herd that is always looking over there shoulders. One should feel safe so they can focus on making the herd stronger not fear for there lives.” She sneered. “A herd like that would be weak and easily defeated by a rival herd.” Did father leave me so I would grow strong and not end up like them, she asked herself. She had learned much during her time alone and she would teach her foals as much of it as she could so they would never have to suffer like she did.

"Maybe your parents realized the herd was falling apart and didn't want you caught in the crossfire." He mused. Its what he would do. Kick his kids out to keep them alive. "My herd would never be distracted by petty fights inside the ranks. It was disgraceful and he would not allow it!

She couldn’t help but laugh as he voiced her thoughts. “It would appear great minds think alike,” she said amused. “With a strong and smart alpha mare petty fights would be unlikely,” she said remembering his earlier comet.

"With a strong leader squabbles should never happen." He said before looking at her. "But i'm sure a strong head mare would help insure that." Yes, a mare who would kick the loud mouths into place would help greatly.

“It takes both to successfully lead a herd, at least that’s what mother always said.” She blinked startled. “Thank you,” she said with a smile, “I still can’t remember what she looked like but I’m starting to remember what she was like.”

"Well thats good. Suck if you made a mistake you could have avoided if you had known what she was like." He said, nodding. "I suppose two is the best. A team." He nodded. "I had hoped to run it with the three but..."He shook his head. "Obviously i did not take into account the conflicting personalites and the diffrent ideals."

“Sometimes different ideals can be a good thing but if there is no compromise it is doomed to fail.” She stood and stretched. He’s surprisingly easy to talk to she thought to herself. “I don’t know about you but I’m getting hungry.” She walked over to a juicy looking patch of grass near the river bank and took a small bite.

"Compromises are for the weak" He said with a nod. His way or the highway, whatever a highway was. Sure, he'd listen to other idea's but unless he figured they were better, his ways were set in stone. He watched her get up and stretch, eyeing her with appreciation. Beauty at its finest. She'd proven she had wit, and a temper....but how strong was she? "Did you have any siblings?" He questioned. If her mother was strong enough to bare many foals, and her father was a herd leader, then it would seem likely she would be to. Talking was all well and good but...if he could have her as his lead mare, well...why wouldn't he? Internally he smirked. He'd have her one way or another. He just hoped he did't have to hurt her.

She turn to look at him. “I have, had a brother.” Is he alive, are any of them, she wondered to herself. “We would often play fight, I was the only foal in the herd that could match him.” Her thoughts heading in a direction she wasn’t prepared to face just now she turned back to the grass but it had lost its appeal.

Well ok so she wasn't alone. He stood, shaking off his thin coat of dirt and grass. He moved up beside her and dropped his head to beside her's. "Do i have to splash you again, Pearl?" He questioned. It almost physically pained him to see something of beauty in pain. Something this beautiful at least. "Because if i have to i will, trust me. I think i saw a nice large bass or similar fish swim by once more. Or i could find that frog again."

She couldn’t help but laugh, her mood lifting at the thought of the frog. “No, I don’t think that will be necessary,” she said with a grin. Moving past him she lightly flicked him with her tail. She looked in the direction his mother had gone in earlier, frowning she glanced back at him. “Is she always gone this long or dose she have another way to get back to her home?” she asked starting to become concerned.

"I wouldn't be suprised if she was lost, again." He rolled his eyes. "She met my father that way. A few screws short of a tool box, i'm telling you. She'll find her way home sooner or later, i'm sure." He looked at her. "Why? worried about her?" Shouldn't surprise him. Mare's and their friendly ways. Always worried about people they didn't even know! He looked in the direction his mother had went. Sooner or later she was going to get caught by a skinwalker or kalona and end up dead. He shook his head. Would teach his dad a lesson, for sure.

Undine snorted. “Of course I’m worried about her, you make her sound as delicate as the flowers she loves.” Does he really not care or is he just acting, she wondered to herself. Closing her eyes she listened to the sounds of the river. Opening them she sighed. Let the water carry your senses is what her mother often told her but she still didn’t understand what that meant.

"Mabye she ran into a skinwalker." He mused out loud. He tilted his head, listening. He hoped if she ever did get caught by something she'd have time to scream. He sighed and shook his head. "Shall we go look for her then, if you so worried?" He looked at her. Delicate. Yeah, she was delicate. Easily broken. He glanced at his mane as it blew in a breeze. The sparkle she had given him. He smiled a bit. "And mabye i'll find some more flowers. She'll be upset if i show up without any."
