Akane Shiori

"I'm always watching... You cannot hide your sins..."

She suddenly burst out in a strange, light hearted laugh. "Soma-kunnnn... I am in no way angry with the world. I was displeased that you dragged me away from my duties, however my work does not include any 'evil' plans, do you honnestly think I could do such in my position, on my own none-the-less. You of all people know my past well, I am not the type to make idiotic decisions." She pulled the chain from around her neck, the two rings form her deceased husband and her own hanging on it. "You intend to hurt me, knowing that it will never match the pain others have caused." Her voice was serious now.

"In addessing the video I clearly explained that there had been no tampering, against or for you. The video was merely what my cameras obtained. You can search my office, my computer even my room and you will find nothing to show I have done wrong. Had I tampered with evidence I would be forced to remove myself from this case." She had corrected Soma on that, because in truth she had stated before playing the film that it was untouched, they would find the same in her office. "I have made no acts to hurt anyone. In fact, I have not engaged in any conflict at all." She calmed a little and looked at Soma. "For someone who has such hidden feelings for me... You really don't know how to show them." With that said, she sat back down, letting Soma think about what she had revealed, somehow she'd known.

Kazei only chuckled at Soma's statement. This kid was a fool in trying to predict the unknown. Though he had many times to plead his own case, it was his own fault that he was silent during the time others spoke. There was no rule in the court that the suspect couldn't speak to defend their case. Everyone had their equal rights within the court room, but this kid still failed to understand the fundamentals of how the court and the world worked. Shaking his head in pity he clapped his hands in manner that would mock the Fifth Division Captain. Bravo, this kid just explained the exact same things that the rest of the shinigami were explaining for the last couple of hours. Kazei wouldn't wonder anything being that he had orchestrated all of these events. In a sense, Soma didn't know anything. He only knew what he was allowed to know. Only what Kazei chose for him to know. Munch like he allowed Soma to think he was in on their plan when he was truly clueless as an infant, munch like he is at this very moment.

"That's easy. But I doubt you need me to explain this part to you Council. The reason that Shiori's cameras seen through the darkness of Soma's technique is because of the night vision mechanism located in almost every surveillance camera here. That's common sense even among children. It pains me to see this kid try and insult the council's knowledge by blaming Shiori."

As for the item, that was nothing. That little piece of information was just as useless as the other heap of useless garbage that came from the dispenser Soma called a mouth. Kazei would even allow the guards to check him, allowing them to search even his room. The item had been safe with Jouka at the moment and it would be useless to even bring it up. After all, munch like court. The world wasn't about who was right and who was wrong. It was about what you could prove. And proof was something Soma didn't have. Only empty words as powerless as himself.

Soma smiled and shifted his view from the council memebers towards Shiori herself. Yet Soma wasn't predicting the unknown he was stating the facts that took place while he was in Karakura Town and the actual event that went down. Yet in the end Soma knew that both Kazei and Shiori would react and speak out against everything he had said. It was a plan he came up with, yet even though Kazei was a skilled tactiction he could still mess up in a way that even he wouldn't know. First Soma spoke out to Shiori on her matter.

"Sorry but, my intentions aren't to hurt you only to show you that even your skills need to be touched on. You failed to see one thing in the video that I did. If I truly killed these people were is my second zanpakuto. Were is Hebi when all this happened. Also Shiori my feelings for you aren't apart of this trial. I know what my feelings are and so do you."

Soma then looked back at the council before turning his sight towards Kazei. What Kazei said was exactly what Soma thought Kazei would say. Nightvision was the only things that Kazei could use to hide himself yet Soma had something of Kazei that he didn't know.

"Sorry Kazei but, you said what I knew you were going to say. Nightvision doesn't work on my Bankai, Kazei. The only type of light that works on my bankai is intense heat reys of light and pure light itself. When it comes to knowing my bankai Kazei you are far from knowing it. My proof was made when your light didn't show my second zanpakuto. Now, is there something else you would like to add to my own bankai, to try and think you know it."

Soma's smile disappeared as he closed his eyes and turned his head back towards the council.

Aisu appeared beside Karume wrapping his arms around her wiast and placing a tender kiss upon her lips. Smiling he held her close
to his body and looked down at her.

" My love, you are so amazing I am glad you can deal with all of this. There is something I have to tell you however I have to go and talk to Yata-Sama first. I am still on trial with these two now so I have to get out of it. I promise once I get out of this, we will spend a romantic night togeather just the two of us. You can fall asleep in my arms alright? I promise."

He said kissing her lips once more before letting go reluctantly and advancing over to Yata. As he did she could see a slight look of sorrow in his eyes however she would know that no matter what he would come back to her. As he reached Yata he moved so he could whisper speaking only for him to hear.

"Commander General Yata-Sama... May I request a private meeting with you? I would like to explain myself and give you more information to judge on. Afterall, the more information you have the safer you can make soul society in the end. If the information I give you gets out it will only create even more confusion and chaos so I would like to limit the knowledge to a select few if you dont mind. Nevertheless I really do hope that you will listen to me Yata-Sama as iI know you are a fair man who only thinks of the best for sul society.

He said in a very kind voice, waiting for Yata to respond however still thinking of Karume. It was at this point Soma would ehar a whisper in his ear that traveled through the wind.

"Soma-San... After I speak to Yata I need to speak with you..."

He whispered using the wind so only soma would hear.

The old man raised an eyebrow in curiosity, almost surprised if not just dumbfounded. "Boy, you clearly lack a understanding of your proper situation. You now stand accused of using a forbidden technique punishable by banishment and even death." Old man Yata just shook his head at the foolish young boy. The boy must have lost all his sense to a void within his own head if he happened to believe he could speak to Yata alone after being accused of performing a forbidden technique "You will be restrained, you will be bound, and you will pay for violating our sacred laws to meet your own foolish ends. Now I highly suggest you get your head out of the clouds and begin to seriously consider what few options you have left to you." Old Man Yata held nothing back, his voice was aloud, firm, and without restraint. He looked down upon little Aisu, giving not even the slightest look of pity or remorse. "When the matter of Soma and Oruga is finished, you will be next. I am afraid there is no 'quality' time for you in the future, only repent and punishment."

Akane Shiori

"I'm always watching... You cannot hide your sins..."

Her eyes narrowed a little, then she suddenly relaxed and ran a hand through her hair, a usual sign that she was thinking about something that troubled her. Most would not noticed, howevr a few, especially her Fuku-taicho knew the habit well.
"No... Soma-kun, you intend to hurt me... Everyone does, because it is all we know, Shinigami only know how to kill and cause suffering, we are afterall... Death gods. It's in our making." For once she was completely sincere with him, as she believed every word of what she had said, that in it'self was saddening to see. She truely trusted no one.

Her eyes closed for a moment. "I do need to tough up on my skills, I am one of the newest Taichos, chosen directly out of the academy for this position." Soma knew that, she wasn't the strongest, not even close at this time. "This was the second time I saw the feed, I did not have time to go over it, I only managed to find it and download it, that took long enough..." She clenched her fists.

Her eyes suddenly shot up to him and she rose form her chair, ignoring others. "I will make it so that those feelings are not part of anything." Her words had a hidden meeting, one that Kazei would certainly understand, but something Soma would not know. It sounded like she was simply expressing, for once, that her feelings were hurt, but she had much more to go with that.

Angrilly she picked up the disks, one now nearly broken in half, and left the hall. "I have given my evidence, I am no longer needed here." Sighing she turned and stepped down from her seat and moved to the back of the room to listen for the verdict

"I'm sure you don't want your tendons cut without breaking flesh, my dears."
- Gankona Naosu, Squad Four Taicho

Just as Shiori left, Naosu entered for a single moment before blantantly glaring at Soma and all those who had gone to her hospital and dared fight upon her rooftop. But with a quiet glance around, ignoring all others, she took leave once again in search for her Fuku-taicho, who might actually know what was going on. Afterall, she had been too busy indulging herself with other activities to be concerned with everyone's nonsense. Even if it meant another captain attacking another captain. She had no information on it, so why participate? Let alone, did she even bother with attending all these 'meetings' people requested her at.
"Karma isn't too pleasant sometimes.." She mused quietly before leaving once again in search for her Fuku-taicho.

Kazei only popped the lollipop back into his mouth before scratching his head, showing that he was completely unconcerned with the kid's little history lesson on his zanpaktou. At this point the only thing the kid was missing was a chalk board and a class room. All this talk of his zanpaktou was completely irrelevant to the trial. Time would pass on as Soma would speak. The real trick was that no editing was needed to show what Soma had done to both Lieutenant Durissa and Captain Akuma. The boy had completely contradicted himself by admitting to striking down Lieutenant Durissa and Captain Akuma, yet he claimed that his second zanpaktou was missing. Common sense says two blades aren't needed to kill two individuals, either way the image of his blades hadn't been tampered with by editing and even if it was missing it still didn't change the fact that he attacked fellow shinigami, in turn bringing him no where. It seemed every attempt the kid made only brought him around in circles back to the same spot he started in. Besides it was Soma's own responsibility for keeping up with the placement of his own zanpaktou. Only an irresponsible fool would ask another for the location of their own zanpaktou.

"You're right Soma. I'm far from knowing your bankai." He lied. "Knowing it's weak is enough for most. But if it gives you a peace of mind, go ahead and convince yourself."

He chuckled referring to the time Kazei defeated both him and Hitoma at the same time during training. Not to mention if Soma's bankai was so special, he wouldn't have been defeated so easily by a low ranking arrancar. Even Jouka the Lieutenant had seen Soma's bankai many times before. There was nothing interesting about Soma's zanpaktou. At this point Jouka's darkness zanpaktou held more interest and potential. As for Soma's comment on Kazei's light technique, he paid no interest in the man's empty words. Even Soma himself didn't learn about the technique until the other captains revealed it to him a couple of minutes ago at most. The nature of his light could render real things invisible and fake things visible by bending the light around the person or object. That is why some objects appear invisible and some appeared visible in the footage, even the man's zanpaktou if he wanted. But Kazei wouldn't tell Soma that, he'd only allow Soma to think he knew what was going on. After it was a great asset to let your enemies appear more superior than they actually were. Still, it was besides the point being that the camera never showed what Soma claimed. The problem with kids like Soma was that they were always claiming to have some sort of fairy tailed hidden power after they found themselves defeated. Kazei had heard this one to many times. Always claiming to have hidden their true power, holding their bankai back because it's too munch, or simply just saying they didn't want to reveal it for other catastrophic reasons. Of them all, Soma's excuse was that Kazei was far from knowing it which was just another excuse among many. The sad part was that the excuse was used by too many and it had been worn down by the passing years. After a while speaking about hidden power caused others to grow less serious of their character. Ideas, bluffs, and excuses were mere fronts to cover the coward and defeated person hiding behind those words. True power was held in action, something only a selected few possessed. Unlike Soma, Aisu, and the other shinigami who claimed at hiding their so called powers, Kazei created movements. He made things happen. He wasn't one to speak about it, but rather show you better than words could describe. This was the true reason Kazei was standing at the top of the game while Soma was standing before his own punishment.

"In other words talking, chit chatting, and gossiping about things like power that you don't have Soma, is female's trait. They mean nothing if there is no action or proof present behind them. Come see me again whenever you're fully developed as a man.....boy."

He said with a chuckle as he finished the last of his lollipop before throwing the wrapper in the dispenser. When Shiori rose to speak, he only smiled at her as he caught her hidden meaning through those words. Returning his attention on the council, he only nodded his head and awaited their verdict.

Yeah, he's in the cocky stage all right. Rednal thought as he relaxed in his chair. The Cocky Stage was the point in a Shinigami's life where they were so confident in themselves that they felt the need to show everyone just how amazing they were. Some grew out of it on their own, others had to have it pummeled out of them. If they were beaten down by someone far stronger than they were, they usually relaxed a bit. "Two trials at once. I hate you people." Rednal grumbled quietly. "All right. Captain Aisu. According to the records I was accessing earlier, there is a precedent for the use of memory-altering magic... in fact, we use the stuff on humans on a fairly regular basis. Lord Yata, I believe that considering Captain Aisu's history, he may well have a valid reason for doing what he did, and if nothing else we should hear his explanation before he is judged. It is completely possible that he has no acceptable explanation and is indeed guilty in every way, but justice is not served by refusing to listen." and now he was preaching to the Captain-Commander. Geez, he was gonna have to disappear after this... Life would be so much easier if he revealed who he was, but he liked the quiet life he had now. Sigh. "If you'd rather not listen to him, then I would like to take his statement regardless before his trial, lest we have a complete breakdown of procedure. This trial is already highly irregular, and justice is rarely served by being hasty, sir. On a slightly different matter, I would like to note that the testimony of Captain Soma corresponds with the official report of the events in Karakura Town." Yeah, he was gonna fade back into the shadows. He hadn't been this high-profile in a thousand years, and he liked it better when people controlled their own fate instead of relics like him doing things. Well, that's what he got for the excuse of having a little fun watching. A shame he didn't have the voice recordings of Delosuke to play for the Council; that would flip the trial upside-down. Hmm... oh, well. He still didn't care who won and who lost this trial; it had nothing to do with him, so let them defend themselves as best they could.

"There he goes again, acting like some kinda big shot again. I could take him."

He smiled as he watched Kazei from the crowd of jury. He had caught a glimpse of most of the trial but he slept through a partial amount of it. He didn't like when others took the spotlight away from him but at the same time he was too lazy to draw onto him. This man had always been this way. Though Rednal's assumptions would be wrong, this man had always been overconfident. This was no stage, Kazei had always been like this. Raising his hand to speak, he casually stood up. Though it took a lot from him just to get up from his cozy little area.

"Even if Aisu had good reason the dummy should've told Captain Yata and the council right away instead of waiting until the last minute. Now look at him, begging for his life."

He sighed. People were always making it hard for themselves. If what Soma said was true, then he should've just left the enemy with whatever business they had. But no, like a puppy he wanted to follow them and now look where he is, desperately making up jokes to defend his life. Then there was this Rednal dude. He claimed to be a mutual investigator of the situation but he might as well be those three's lawyer, it was clearly seen what side he had chosen. Standing up, he faced the council.

"Man this s**t is energy draining." He whispered to himself. "If these three are punished please do not execute them. Even though Aisu used forbidden techniques, he didn't attack anyone. Soma and Oruga on the other hand I wouldn't recommend execution either, maybe some other punishment but not execution. He's made stupid decisions but I'm sure they're both sorry for the crimes they've committed. If it's possible council, please let these three repent for their sins."

He said defending their cause. He was about the only one who truly asked for mercy from the council. Even though they could be a pain in the a**, these three were still fellow shinigami of Tsumuro. Without them everything would be perfect and straight through. No failure or cocky guys bragging about who had bigger guns that they didn't have. But then again the Soul Society still needed that. Balance. Success and failure. And without failure no one would learn from their experiences. That, is why Tsumuro stepped forward to help them. At the same time, he couldn't have a world without is good old pal Kazei.

The council members nodded their heads and motioned to each other. A lot had transpired in front of them. Each of them nodded their heads as they took in Taicho Kazei and Taicho Soma's words. Both of them were convincing and Soma's story proved very to be very detailed yet it still sounded like the same story that Shadow and the other captains claimed, making it even more convincing. On Taicho Kazei's end what he said was true. If this man did not have proof of Taicho Kazei doing this then their was almost nothing he could defend himself against let alone the fact that he and Taicho Oruga had already admitted to the first of their accused crimes. Now the time to reach a verdict had come. All that was needed was the Sotaicho's opinion on their punishment which the council had already taken into account from him. Together the white hoods cluttered together as they exchanged opinions on the final act on these four. When they finished all eight faces turned to the four standing in the middle of the court room. "Because of the influence of the many shinigami that took a stand to defend these two men, we will not execute Taicho Soma and Taicho Oruga for their crimes. The two of you will be tortured until the committee feels you have repented for your crimes. You will go through cycles of torture and then you will be healed again at the end of the day only for the cycle to restart itself all over. Your original punishment was to be execution but it has been reduced to this. Taicho Aisu will receive the same punishment with you two until further notice." The white hoods then glanced in Kazei's direction. There glares as menacing as ever though their eyes could not be seen because of the low hoods. "Though we do not have proof of the accusations placed on Taicho Kazei he will plead not guilty for the previous accusations. However because each captain's story was so strikingly similar along with the investigative reports, we will instruct a new investigation until these other crimes have been solved. Does anyone have anything to say to further assist this investigation?"
