Escaped Evan Rosier

PostPosted: Sat Jun 13, 2009 3:24 pm

Watching this fan-made Half-Blood Prince tribute has really excited me about the sixth film again. I'm still somewhat sad about Lavender's actress (gorgeous girl, but the first casting I've actually wanted to whine about just because it doesn't fit my personal idea of Lavender's looks) but I am STOKED to see the movie.

Also, I watched the CherryBomb trailer and really want to see that as well; it looks like an awesome movie, and I loved Rupert Grint in Driving Lessons. LOVED LOVED LOVED. Rupert is an awesome actor, especially for the comedic genre. (Irony? The lead actress fits my mental picture of Lavender.)

Oh wow, that video is amazing. ;_; I don't think I have EVER been as excited for a movie before in my life. I'm going to get midnight tickets and hopefully not have to fight crowds too much. My boyfriend hates crowds but... I'm really hoping he can handle them enough to go with me. The Harry Potter series is the only books he's ever read all the way through. heart

Kat and I will die before we miss the midnight showing for HBP. Without the Harry Potter movies, our relationship would have gone south immediately in its earliest stages.. Sometimes I feel like I should write a letter to Alan Rickman telling him thank you for helping me find/keep my lesbian partner. Luuuuulz.

Also, Hellboy 2.

I fell asleep during most of the plot (I'm not sure why, but the concept of Hellboy has never particularly drawn me in; I've never made it through the first film unfortunately - but I can see its appeal) but the characters really intrigued me, particularly the prince and princess and the incest-y undertones.

The battle at the end was well choreographed, I must say. As was the action with the Tooth Fairies in the start of the movie. I was pissed off after seeing Twilight won best fight scene at the MTV movie awards.

Twilight deserved best kiss, if you ask me, but other than Bella's bone snapping in its fight scene.. Gaaah. SOMEONE MAKE ME AN MTV MOVIE JUDGE, MY OPINION IS BETTER THAN THEIRS.

Transformers was so good. biggrin The humans weren't the main plotpoint, and there was more robots than I knew what to do with. I was like... going fancrazy, there was so many robots to recognize!

And there was tons of wicked funny parts. Like, the giant robot Devastator, who is a bunc of Constructicons made into one big one... well, either way, one of his pieces is a wrecking ball truck... and the two wrecking balls were hanging down between his legs, haha! It was so great! ROBOT BALLS. rofl

Ugh, robots are sexy. YUP.

OH AND ANOTHER THING. Avatar: the Last Airbender movie, omfg. I don't know if any of you watched Avatar but it's basically my favorite cartoon ever, and it's gunna be a movie and it looks SO GOOD.

So I watched the new Underwold movie (Rise of the Lycans) and was rather disappointed. The concept was good (I particularly liked the dynamics between werewolves and their vampire masters) but overall I felt the CGI, special affects, and pacing didn’t match the crotch-wetting awesomeness of the last one. As a matter of fact, the sex scene was awkward - a MAJOR let-down considering I felt the last movie had the most erotic sex scenes in any action movies I have seen.

Highlight for Spoilers:

The relationship between Viktor and Lucian was, well, hot. He constantly referred to Lucian as his “pet,” and some of their exchanged glances and tense moments bubbled with thinly disguised sexuality (according to my inner fangirl anyway.) The fact that Lucian was ******** Viktor’s daughter (who was recasted, for some bullshit reason) behind his back… guh. It sounds like a storyline right out of Kat and I’s “Petverse,” which is an AU in which Voldemort won the war but Harry escaped, where the Death Eaters take over the world and build a social hierarchy based on blood purity and slaves/pets.

I absolutely HATED Viktor’s daughter Sonja. I have a hard time enjoying the “badass female who wears pants and is all badass, but melts in the arms of her buff lover” cliché - it just isn’t one that I like seeing repeated, though I know it appeals to a huge audience. I seriously would have loved a delicate, vulnerable vampire princess who - instead of trying to be the resident BAMF - had gone out to meet the human nobles out of politeness and a thirst to be more involved in vampire-human relations; I felt it would have been more interesting to have Viktor shut her out of politics due to her being his sweet daughter, instead of always fighting with her to get involved in their circle of governors and she won’t due to having an invisible c**k.

I did like some of the werewolves and slaves, though; the bulky black man in particular, I wanted to climb him like a tree. The fact that other than breeding bitches, there appeared to be no substantial female werewolf population among their group, which would certainly justify my rabid slashing if I felt enough drive to write fanfiction.

Overall, the movie felt like it was a forced stretch; as far as plot went, I could sum it up in less than five bullets - not exactly worthy of the movie’s hour and a half running time.

I am hoping to see Transformers before it leaves theaters. Also, Wolverine and Star Trek, since we still haven’t seen them.

I really want to get into Avatar, but Kat doesn’t really like it, and I tend to feel bored with watching something she isn’t interested in. Maybe I can coax her to watch it with me if Nick does another marathon.

Avatar is so good though, it's seriously my favorite cartoon. >: I own all the DVD's and s**t. And a Sokka toy! Cuz he is my fav.

And I saw Underworld 3 in theaters, so I don't remember that much. because it was a long time ago. And basically sums up how good the movie was, since I can't really remember it. x_x

I kinda knew it was gunna be bad, but wanted it not to be, you know? Oh well. I'm happy enough with the first two Underworlds that it's okay to me. *shrugs*

HARRY POTTER MOVIE IS SO SOOOON. Less than two weeks from now I will be IN DAT THEATER. *foams*

I just have a hard time watching it for some reason, it doesn't hold my attention. v.v;;

With Underworld...eh, it made up for the lack of being a good movie with all the werewolf action. I can't stand the vampires in any of the three movies... I just like the werewolves and Mr. Hybrid. XD

I really hope we can go to the midnight showing... I'm just sort of hoping I have the day off for when we open the guild too... Too many days of things that I want to see/do are coming up. @.@

Well, I liked the second one. talk2hand

@Mike: I'm gonna look out for it. Maybe find and rent some of the DVDs, I'm sure Family Video has them. Or, don't they have book adaptions now?

I know, I'm so freaking out to see it. <3333

Less than a week to go! I can hardly stand it. x_x I got my tickets, like actual ticket tickets already because when we went to the movies the other night they gave us our midnight Transformers and Harry Potter tickets. So we don't even need to stop at the ticket stand or anything.

And a bunch of my friends from high school and stuff are planning to go, and we're all inviting our old friends and stuff so the theater is going to be full of people I know. It's gunna be really cool. ARGH. heart

So we rented Push (with my delicious little Dakota-pop) and Knowing (Nicolas Cage) from Redbox. Push was better than I’d even hoped for, and Knowing was so far on the opposite side of my personal tastes it fell off into the fiery pits of hell.

Push had good acting (for the most part), interesting and well-costumed sidecharacters, and I appreciated both its fast plot pacing and unique settings. Knowing was poorly paced, poorly explained (basing this on the comprehension of the average American movie-goer), awkwardly peppered with ehhhhhh-looking CGI (which, in the case of a plane crash, was COMPLETELY unnecessary and downright attention-whoring - in the nastiest and most unrealistic way possible), and had an ending that should get the writers uncomfortably poked with a toothpick in the balls.

Push had badass!loli Dakota, and Knowing had. Um. Nicolas Cage, formerly known as Mr Ed.

I kid, I kid - loved Cage in the National Treasure franchise, and City of Angels (I still cry even THINKING about that movie.)

Seriously, though - I’d recommend Push to almost anyone. It was suspenseful, hilarious, and tasteful (it did not force you to watch a rating-pushing sex scene, the special affects were there for the plot and not for attention-whoring, and its limited crude humor was kept fairly clean.)

OKAY LETS GET THIS BALL ROLLING.

1. Blaise was ******** HOT.
2. Lavender was ******** AWESOME. Just how I imagined her as a kid! (Meaning our guild Lavlav. x3)
3. SO MUCH ******** SNAPE. SO MUCH ******** WIN.
4. DRACO AND HIS EMOTIONAL TURMOIL! <3 *Cuddles him*
5. SO MANY OTHER THINGS.

One thing I didn't like (It's all so muddled and full of awesome that my brain couldn't comprehend lots of things)

Is that when Dumbledore asks Draco why he's doing this, Draco's like 'He said if I didn't, he'd kill me!'

But in the books he said 'He'll kill my family and me'

sad

I loved the show of emotions by Draco, who we rarely see expressing any sort of genuine reaction besides anger. But that line could have been fixed, because the Malfoy family is VERY close and loving from what I get the gist of. O_o At least behind closed doors.

AND LITTLE TOM RIDDLE! SO CUTE! OMFG! And the older boy looked SO MUCH LIKE the little one! OMFG! How did they manage that? :3 I liked them anyways. Kid!Voldemort was so adorable. So was teen!Voldemort. (I like both versions of teen voldemort)

Aw man, everyone was crying when Dumbledore was killed. I was crying before he even sent Harry to hide in the tower. sad

I loved the teenage stuff too, it didn't feel forced to me, just funny and awkward, like it should be. XD

I loved the scene where Hermione hexed ron with the birds, when she was crying. <3 Omfg.

Have I said I loved lavender? XD

Draco looked sort of like the 'cheesy bad guy' in the movie, with his weird walk and his hair that looked like it'd been painted on. But again I just loved the emotion, him crying alone in the ROR, him breaking down in the bathroom- I saw Harry didn't really notice Draco had burst out into tears. (GREAT ******** ACTING BY TOM, BY THE WAY)

AND I LOVED THE GLIMPSE OF THE ORPHANAGE! *Cuddles kid!Tom*

OMFG THIS GIVES ME SO MUCH INSIGHT AND FODDERRRRRRRRRRRRRRr.

Hey, you know that scene at the Weasleys when the burrow was blown up and stuff- Did that happen in the book? O_o

I can't remember. COOL ******** SCENE THOUGh.

IN ALL I RATE THIS MY FAVOURITE MOVIE BY FAR. :3

did you see those two death Eaters? The short ugly woman and the man who came up together in the clock tower? I can't remember their names but they're siblings- JUST HOW I IMAGINED THEM. OMFG.

And I'm going to look up whoever played Rowle on de intergoogles now. <3

D: Maggie Smith looks so old though. sad Hard to believe it's been like ten years....

ALSO-

anyone else notice in the scene where Ron is in the hospital wing and Lavendar comes in- watching snape holding the bottle you can see him in the background with his eyes closed, and in fact I was watching him because I watch him every time he's on the screen. x3

But when Lavender starts in you can just tell he's like 'Oh Merlin, please kill me now'

xD It's... just awesome. xD HAHAHA!

<3 <3 <3

Loved this movie, LOVED IT! MY FAVOURITE! CANT WAIT UNTIL IT COMES OUT ON DVDDDDDDDDDDDDddd. SPECIAL SPECIAL EDITION HERE I COME!

EDITEDIT: And Weasleys Wizarding Wheezes was just... just.... so much more amazing than I could have ever imagined. It.... wow. IT wowed me, it was so awesome. ^_^ And it made me so sad too, because of the seventh book. sad Poor Fred, Poor George. sad

Oh and the previews were awesome! I dunno if they're the same for everyone..

But that Sherlock Holmes movie looks SO ******** COOL! *FLAILS AND FLAILS*

And also- 'WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE????'

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

.....

AWESOME! That kid looked so adorable in his little animal suit throughout the whole movie. <3

Oh and I watched Dinotipia the other day. O_o Four hours long, good movie!

I can't believe who played David though! That guy from the Step Up Movies! X3

Omfg, I loved the 'Where the Wild Things Are' preview though. I keep wanting to make a character now, a second year or something, who goes around in a costume all the time in celebration. X3

Holy crap Where the Wild Things Are. crying It looks so good. I want to make pajamas like that kid has, how kick a** is he?

And about Harry Potter... I dunno how this can be your favorite. o_o I was a little disappointed. True, it kept all the important elements of the plot... but the movie seemed like a filler, a bridge between movies- not a movie on it's own. They took out a lot I feel like... especially concerning the memories. No Gaunts? None at all?! That made me a bit sad... and there was like 2 seconds of actual Voldemort. >: Though I know, I know, he wasn't in the sixth book much. But still.

I did like both actors for Tom, though, and Fenrir. Could Fenrir fly like the rest of them? o_o Oh and I liked how they did Lavender, too. But that was like the main part of the movie. x3 There was like more Lavender than Snape. x_x I dunno, I guess I just feel like... this movie didn't really have a lot of the plot and memories I was hoping for. And it didn't have enough well... magic. But I still liked it a lot, I was just a little disappointed, you know?

Also, the theater didn't start the movie until like, 1AM because the projector was broken. And they turned the air off so we were all sweating like crazy. SO HOT. x_x
