dragn, does your cat have access to a mirror all the time? If so, I would assume that it would eventually realize what it was looking at.
The 'recognizing one's self' is a 'most cases' kinda thing. There are always exceptions to the rules, like your cat. lol

Well, we don't discourage him from jumping onto the counter in the bathroom, where he can easily see himself in the mirror.
