Xeen was unphased by the slap. His years of battling super-powered children and magical forces gave him tolerance to pain, but this was more insulting than anything else. "This is my daughter, Lori. I have done you no wrong. We are all tense... Take some time, calm down. I will be back, soon." With that, he blinked out, appearing on Jishara, Lori's words burning him no small ammount.

Ora glanced at Lori and her father in open confusion, after having been set down inside the tent. A few specialists were already looking her over, though Ora was far more interested in what was happening with her father than in the questions being asked about her wounds.
Outside the tent, walking towards it in a gentle pace, was the matron. She walked with a book in her hand, already starting her collection anew.

((You're confused, too, ED? Good. Maybe she can explain what the hell Lori's tweaking about, because I'm completely lost.))

((I'm not really that confused, to be honest. I'm far more amused, and curious how this will play out. Ora, however, is flat out flabbergasted. I don't think she's ever seen anyone slap her dad, outside of her mom, of course. Right now she's thinking "holy s**t, did my Dad have an affair?!" rofl ))

((Me, as the player, is confused. Lori and Xeen had very little contact, outside of her occasionally bothering Xeen while he was locked up by Johachim, and the two talking only briefly on THesys. I have no clue what the ******** AC is going on about.))

(( rolleyes Being a guy, of course you can't figure it out.[/good-natured tease] But yes, I was totally trying to make that evoke "Affair!?" without Lori acting out of character.))
"Typical, idiot Xeen, walking off a right superior @$$hole..." Lori muttered. She looked sharply at Ora when the nurses weren't getting answers. "An' you! Cooperate with the good people! Trying to make a liar out of me to your father? Heal, already."

Ora's eyebrow rose, much in the same manner as her father's would. "I'm sure my body is currently undergoing much work to mend itself."

Eulalia Danae Ora's eyebrow rose, much in the same manner as her father's would. "I'm sure my body is currently undergoing much work to mend itself." "It'd do a lot better at tha' if you tell them what they're asking for, guarantee," she growled. "Are you arguing with me, missy?"

"That depends on your definition of argument. From the sound of it though, that definition seems to be 'verbal interaction' to which point I may have to say yes, I am arguing with you." Ora took in a deep breath, wincing slightly at the shadow of pain still in her system. "I get wordy when I'm ill, and indignant. If I wasn't seeing spots, I'd apologize."

Lori glared at her, then hopped up to sit on an empty cot and pulled out several carrot and celery sticks. To the cracking and chomping of her snack, she replied, "Well, hurry up an' heal, then. I'll be waiting for that 'I'm sorry.'"

Ora watched her snack on the sticks, "and you can wait for it, quite a while." She gave a dark smile, which ended up softening into a very loose smile as a drug was pumped into her system. "You accused my father of betrayal, earlier, which granted he is rather good at, but why? What is it he did?"

Lori's chomping slowed. "Was a cheap shot. Wasn't me he betrayed, 'cept that he's left me waiting for 'im when I should've left, but I hear he's known for the thing." She paused, taking another chomp. "Does it ever get annoying? How he's always either completely underhand and -foot, or else disappears without a word right when you expect 'im to stick around for a bit? Get the suspicion he does the same to family as anyone else."

Ora made an amused snort sound, one she wouldn't usually make...but being pumped up with pain meds, it fit. "You have no idea. He'd disappear for months on end when I was a little girl, then when he showed up again he'd almost follow me around, like he was somehow confused on how to live a day-to-day life. "I had to make sure to give him the proper cues. Know when to hug me. Know when to encourage me. Know when to let me sleep. Food was the hardest, he doesn't need to eat, and often wouldn't. That left him either forgetting to feed me, or offering food when it was unneeded. All things considered, though, he did fairly well."

"He's an idiot with food, it's so true. And he glared at me every time I offered, like I was s'possed to remember he was weird about that? Had to convince myself he was a Hunter for a while, just so I'd stop feeling weird about it. It's like I was always on celery, and this guy just sat there. Ma taught me that was rude, yeah? You and your mom must love 'im, to put up with that junk all the time. Well, when he's not gone, I mean."

"You live with what you get, when family is concerned. But in truth I haven't seen much of him, or my mother, for many many years." Ora closed her eyes slightly, the red just barely hooded as she rested back against the cot. "I did miss them, odd as it sounds."
