Silarial pointedly ignored the monarch's question as they approached Toshiro. Alu she considered family, almost like a son... but she didn't exactly need to bring up more talk about relationships right now in front of Toshiro.
Guilt weight heavily upon her. It was her silly question, asked in earnest to know more about these two strangers, that had driven them apart. She owed it to them to at least help them get back together.
"I-I'm sorry, Toshiro, but we haven't seen Xiang. Did the two of you get separated?"

"Um, yeah," Toshiro admitted sheepishly, pawing at the ground. "I wasn't able to catch up to her after she dashed off and now I have no idea where she is. I ran into another mare and she's helping me look." He looked back up at Silarial and noticed that she looked rather guilty. "It's not your fault," he said quietly, guessing what she was thinking. "It was bound to come up sooner or later really." His ears flicked as they continued to listen for any signs of someone else around them. "Why don't you guys go on and have some breakfast? You can't have eaten much yet."

Caderyn shook his head. "I rather help you look for her then go off and eat and feel useless. Seeing how finding her and helping you is important to Silarial then helping you find her is important to me as well." The large butterfly wings flicked upon his back as his spoke, he still had mixed feelings about helping the other male.

Silarial inclined her head, oblivious to Cadeyrn's unease. She was far more concerned with finding Xiang right now - she fervently hoped the resident pack of cats weren't out on a hunting trip. And there was the river, too - someone not used to the current could easily be swept away.
"I have to agree with him on eating and feeling useless. Alright... we need to search for signs on where she headed. Hoofprints in the ground, bits of upturned soil, broken branches she may have brushed against and so on."
Having said what was necessary, she put her nose nearly to the ground and cast about for signs of Xiang's run.

Toshiro smiled at them both appreciatively. "Thank you," he said, sincerely grateful to the two of them for their help. He nodded thoughtfully at Silarial's advice on what to look for. "Right, that makes sense." The brown stallion resumed his search once more, this time looking more for signs of Xiang's passing rather than directly for the mare herself. With all of the additional help now, surely they would find her, right?

"Don't forget smell," Cadeyrn replied softly, as his eyes scanned the clearing where they were. Looking for signs, maybe like a broken spider web or something would clue them in. The smallest details always seem to be the details over looked.

"I sure wish Alu ws here... he's very good at tracking," muttered Silarial. She raised her head and shook out her neck, which was getting stiff... and caught sight of Cadeyrn's magnificent wings once again.
"Hey," she said to the monarch. "Um. I don't suppose those are strong enough for you to fly...?"

Toshiro glanced up briefly from his inspection, mildly curious of that himself. It was a bit unusual to come across a winged Kirin under normal circumstances, but he would have certainly never imagined one with insect wings. He lowered his head back to the brush to continue his inspection while waiting for the response.

They were suppose to be looking for her friend and she was slightly confused on why she wanted to know about his wings now. Didn't they have more important things to do. "Never tried," He replied lightly. "though I doubt I'm to big to fly anyways."

"Oh." Silarial sounded disappointed. "I'm sorry. I thought if you could fly up and get a better view of the forest, you'd be able to spot her from up there.
They're very pretty wings, though!" She decided, brightly.

The stallion smiled wryly at Silarial's words. "Tried that already," he said, moving onward a bit. "The mare I mentioned running into previously also had wings, but she said that she would need to jump off a cliff-side to use them." Well, it had certainly been worth a shot. In the meantime, he kept looking. "I'm not seeing any signs of anyone passing through here." Edit: ~*~In the end, no one was able to locate Xiang's whereabouts. They eventually split off and went their own ways. ~*~
