Emotion at it's bestDuring one of their concerts, when Freddie sang 'Somebody to Love' he actually cried. Not wailing, but perhaps holding it back. Proof? HereAccording to the miss who screencapped this, she watched the clip frame by frame and it is, indeed, a teardrop. SUCH EMOTION! crying

BRIAN FACTS!
- Brian likes putting black berry puree on top of his vanilla ice cream ( xd heart Just knowing he EATS icecream is enough to make me giggle!)
- Brian also once submitted a recipe to a cook book once, sometime around last year. And yes, you guessed it! It was a black berry puree recipe >w<

More pictures of Freddie's wonderful house... A very nice sitting area. Hmm... I see a piano, a couch (with a table in front of it if you can't quite see), some lamps, blue vases, amazing windows, shiny floors, and of course, Mary, looking very pretty. whee Next we have a really old looking chandelier, an expensive looking painting and... Aren't you curious where that stairway leads to? How long is it? Oh! The questions! Does Mary fancy Roger? Oh wait... That's just a Slightly Mad table. Have a look at the picture frames. whee I'm really loving those window treatments... I guess Freddie put quite a lot of good work into this house!

Quoted from Brian's Soapbox (Read this before clicking the link):
**Thu 28 Apr 05** No, I wasn't grumpy. I was disappointed in the interviewer. We went straight into interviews from a long journey. The guy wasted his opportunity, and wasted my time. His brief was to talk about what was happening in the moment - a massive Queen tour, with Paul Rodgers, sold out, with wonderful reactions. Instead the interviewer started asking me why we didn't do the whole of "Bohemian Rhapsody" live. "Do you mean perform the operatic section?", I asked. "Well, yes", he said. "Because there are six of us, and 150 voices on the record - it would be ridiculous.. ", I said. "But with modern technology...?" he went on .... "No", I said, "not with modern technology. If you want to see Bohemian Rhapsody done completely live, go see our musical We Will Rock You". The interviewer seemed not to have heard of this. I started tell him we used Bo Rap as an opportunity for a special presentation involving Freddie. He seemed not to hear me. He then told me he wanted to show me a video of some students singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" live. I kinda squirmed .... why were we using up valuable time doing this, when we were running late anyway for the crucial sound-check which would enable us to play at our best that evening? I have seen plenty students singing Bo Rap, thanks. Maybe later ...? Well, he insisted, so I gave way. Then the video he wanted to show me didn't work. He said, "Give me a minute". I said, "This is crap - I would rather be spending the time preparing for the show, which is the real reason we are here." Or something like that. At this point I actually got up to leave, but thought...."No. I am not a prima donna, I should give the guy another chance" ... so I sat down again and said, "OK, let's start again. we have probably 3 minutes left - ask me something decent!" The interview consulted his notes, and said, "Bohemian Rhapsody was released in 1976 in Holland. When was it released in England?" Those of you who know their Queen history know this is any case wrong. But really who cares? And if they did, why couldn't the interviewer find this out for himself, instead of using up supposed interview time about the tour with this nonsense?
Well, at this point, I lost it. I think I said .. "Sorry, this is truly a waste of time". And I left to do soundcheck and clean myself up ready for the show. It was a choice from that point on, time being short .... bad hair or bad fingers ! I opted for bad hair of course - hair washing just before playing gives soft fingers - a potential disaster. I was happy in the end.... it turned out to be the best show so far ..... one of those nights which truly justifies to me my lack of home life ...my physical battle to regain match-fitness... the whole thing ...even the interviews!! ha ha! It was a joy.
I have absolutely no quarrel with the Dutch Press - they have always been great to us, as have the Dutch audiences. I would never let an isolated incident like this spoil that relationship.
So. I gather the TV company, rather than apologising, took a swipe at me in the evening .... saying I was suffering from old age and grumpiness. Both of these I will cheerfully own up to!! But the reason for the breakdown of the interview was none of this. It was the interviewer's incompetence and lack of preparation. I hope he uses the experience to raise his game. But he won't be playing any more games with us for a while....

These are two really fun interviews from 2004, one with Brian and the other with Roger. The host is great and the questions are pretty good so if you have six or seven minutes, sit down and take a moment to watch one. (Or both! smile )

Updated the 'Queen Videos' post. Added the videos for Breakthru, Man on Fire and The Great Pretender (Extended Version). Enjoy! whee And also, a clever Queen mention in the webcomic 'As If!', namely in this strip where the characters return home from Summer vacation. (Yes, the comic does take place in the 80's, hence the lack of fashion sense xd )
