 AuroraCanon: Princess Aurora was born to King Stefan and his lovely queen (who really does
deserve a name). On her christening, she was to be given gifts by the three good
fairies but Maleficent was jealous at not being invited. She arrived, only to curse the
newborn princess. Alarmed, the King burned all the spindles in the land but they were
still afraid for their child's safety. The fairies devised a plan and took the baby into the
woods to raise until sixteen years had passed.
The day of her sixteenth birthday, Aurora met Phillip. A prince that she was
unknowingly betrothed to. He was to met her at the cottage to introduce to her aunts
but the fairies revealed who she was and took her to the castle. Maleficent learning of
this, captured Prince Phillip. Then she arrived to lead a heartbroken Aurora to a
spindle, where she did indeed p***k her finger. She fell into a deep slumber and the
fairies put everyone to sleep. They then learned of Phillip meeting a peasant girl and
set off to save the prince. He defeated Maleficent and woke Aurora with a kiss. The
two, arm in arm, arrived to reunite with their parents. Pause: Before I continue with my spin on the tale, I once read that the ending was
believed by some to be Phillip and Aurora's wedding. I honestly never thought that was
the case--not once in the many times I have watched this movie. And so obviously
they remained betrothed, engaged if you will, in my mind. I also imagined that the
ending was merely them accepting their betrothal and Aurora being reunited with her
parents--perhaps accepting that she is, indeed, a princess.After: While Hubert was all for marrying the kids off post-haste, Stefan and more
importantly Aurora, wished to wait. Not only did the family wish to get to know one
another but there was a lot to teach a young princess. So for a year, she remained with
her parents. Shortly after her seventeenth birthday, the wedding was being planned--
but not everything was perfect. An uprising was brewing and threats were being made
daily that the princess would be taken hostage. Phillip thought perhaps it would be best
to get her out of the castle for a time and a guard was to discreetly follow them to
Woodcutter's Cottage. Only things didn't go according to plan. A band of up-risers
seemed to appear out of nowhere and Phillip tried to beat them back, shouting for
Aurora to run. The princess became lost after a time and ended up in a place she had
never known before. It is largely suspected that Faerie Red is behind both the uprising
and the disappearance of the princess.

one clue what the hell I'm doing when I really, really don't.

all-knowing psychic when really I'm totally pretending and I'm not even good at pretending but I assume
everyone is too busy laughing at me to say so--so I guess that means it's cool.
