Listening to Moonshadow's outburst, Hawktail's ears fell back in visible disapproval of the other's inability to control herself. Getting to her paws, the brown tabby she-cat padded towards the front of the group to get a better look at the Riverclan cats. "Fleetingstar, if Riverclan agrees to it, may I ask to accompany you to their camp?" She began, in a tone uncharacteristically interested, "I do not agree with their methods in handling the warrior code, but I am one in support of aiding this clan. We have at least a little prey that could fill the bellies of their queens, kits, and elders." Her tail tip flickered pensively behind her; Hawktail had yet an opportunity to see the territories of the other clans.

Moonshadow was clawing up earth in frustration. The demented she cat was now riled up, and felt the need to sink her fangs into something and tear it to shreds. SHe glared at the RiverClanners through angry narrow eyes. "Consider yourselves lucky. If you're ever caught stealing prey again, there wont be as much mercy. WindClan may take pity on you today, but remember, not everycat is as forgiving as Fleetingstar," She hissed menacingly and drew away from the cats, she glaring intently.
Shellpath was unaware that Whitewater has thanked her for her support, but could guess that she appreciated the backing up. Perhaps her blindness allowed her not to be as daunted as others by these strange cats. "I should think Mothstar and Fernstar would not mind, if not glad, to make and agreement with you Fleetingstar. But it may send cats into a panic and uproar if we come back with a patrol as big as the one you have with you know. By scent, I can tell there are quite a few cats with you. I think it'd be safer, and less hostility may be shown if a smaller patrol were to acompany you, as Whitewater said. But, thats only if myClanmates agree."

Bramblestone breathed a sigh of relief as Fleetingstar stepped in to calm the waters. The young she-cat had been getting agitated as the meeting descended once more into near-violence. Seeing their neighbors reduced to bone sacks forced to scavenge had softened her. She no longer wanted to fight them, wincing slightly mentally as Moonshadow continued to challenge them. "Fleetingstar, if it is all right, may I stay behind?" she asked softly, glancing at Moonshadow with her yellow-green eyes. She wanted to make sure that the furious she-cat would not try to follow the peace party to attack any RiverClanners. Besides, she wasn't sure how she might act once she saw the RiverClan camp...would she break down utterly, making her Clan seem weak? Or would her pity be overwhelmed and turn once more to hate? No. Safer to stay behind and ensure that RiverClan remains safe--as well as WindClan. Not all disagreements have to be settled by claws.

Well, he knew that he had to come with a smaller patrol in the first place. No need to seem like they were attacking Riverclan, with things on edge already.
"You can come, Hawktail. And you can stay if you wish Bramblestone." He nodded to both of them. But who else? Fleetingstar scanned the eager faces of cats around him, trying to figure out who would be best and wouldn't start a feud between the clans.
"Rollinggust and Hawkwing, you two will come with me and help negotiate things. The rest of the patrol can gather these rabbits." He pointed to the corpses still strewn about, "and bring them back to camp."
He was taking the rabbits? That they caught? Halcyontail opened her mouth to protest, then shut it. They were originally Windclan's after all, and they might get them back once everything was settled.
"I'll head back now and tell them who's coming." She muttered before turning around. She didn't want to be seen leading a bunch of Windclan cats into the heart of their territories.
((A bit of explanation if needed. Fleetingstar chose cats that were around when this whole thing occured would be able to hold back any insults and threats. He might have chosen Tornadotail, but he felt he might be a bit intimidating being bigger than everyone and already having a spat with Whitewater. Sorry.))

Stomach twisted in frustration at her leader decision to ignore the prey she had choose for her. Did she have a right to be angry with her leader? She herself had refused to eat WindClan prey. Even so much as to hunt the entire day for the tiniest and possibly the last water vole in all of RiverClan. Guilt swelled so heavily with in her she wanted to yowl as high as StarClan and ask her ancestors to take the vole from her belly so FernStar could eat with out guilt. Would eat crow food from ShadowClan if it could only be so.
Going against the warrior code most been harder on FernStar then anyone... after seeing so many visions and receiving ninelives from them... SootSteps shook her head fiercely, now was no time for sympathetic thinking! Had to be strong despite weakness during these hard times. How could they do that when FernStar barely had the energy to rise let alone lead her desperate clan?
"Eat, surely are ancestors have been driven to such times in the past, but look..." she said blinking her orange eyes at the camp. "RiverClan is still here. They will forgive us for braking the code if it is for the survival of the clan. I'm sure of it." she purred, hoping words would reach the silent FernStar.

Hawktail nodded in response to Fleetingstar's allowing her to go, silently pleased at the opportunity to see another clan's territory. When the Windclan leader brought up the subject of rabbits, the brown tabby's ears perked up and she raised her tail to gesture in the direction she had originally come. "That reminds me! I caught a rabbit before I joined up with everyone here," She mewed a little sheepishly, "it's a little small, but prey is prey, right? It's not that far away, could someone grab it one the way back to camp?"
Fernstar's ears flattened when she heard the dismayed and sensible tone in her warrior's voice. Starclan remained silent to her ears; the only thing to do would be to take matters into her own paws at this point. She stayed where she was for a few moments more, the scent of rabbit flooding her den and causing her mouth to slaver hungrily. Finally, the Riverclan leader uncurled her paws from beneath herself and stood up to take a few wobbly steps as the den swam temporarily in front of her eyes. Lack of food and water had taken it's toll apparently...
Quietly, the pale tortoiseshell padded to the mouth of the den, blue eyes settling wearily on Sootsteps's dark form. "Thank you, Sootsteps... Please don't worry for me, you need your strength too." She mewed quietly, absently pawing at the rabbit, "I'm going to get a drink, then I promise I'll eat." She brushed her tail tip against the warrior's ear as she padded past and headed for the camp entrance. Some fresh air might do her some good, and she needed to walk and stretch the muscles in her legs again. As she headed out, Fernstar noted the scents of a patrol that left recently; she hoped they were alright.

SootSteps bowed her head respectively to FernStart as she dismissed herself to get a drink from the river. All though she was all ways near, it had seemed her soul had left them. 'FernStart's started to have hope again!' thought, orange eyes failing to conceal over whelming joy as their leader returned to her needy clan. It gave the boney cat hope that she'd never thought to find during this cruel leaf-bear.
Still SootSteps felt a pang of worry... what would FernStar think when she saw how thin the clan had gotten in her absence? Would she refuse to eat then? Still... at least she was out of her den for a drink whether or not she ate the, no doubt, well needed rabbit. SootSteps licked her jaw looked at the morsel. Shock her head vigorously before walking away from the temptation.
Thoughts wandering from rabbit to the hunting patrol that had headed into WindClan territory. Black ears pricked for sounds of the patrol braking threw the rush with more long eared prey to feed the clan.

Bramblestone nodded, relieved to be doing something. "I'll get it, Hawktail," she promised. She picked up one of the rabbits, watching RiverClan suspiciously. She didn't trust them, but more than that, she didn't trust some of her Clanmates, as shameful as it was to admit that. They would be angry, wanting to fight or disappointed that they didn't go. She respected that, having felt the same not long before. But this is right by the code, isn't it? Battles get cats killed, and killing is against the code... She shook her head vigorously and turned away to find Hawktail's rabbit.

Rollinggust nodded, her tail slightly twitching with anxiety. Though they were in calm waters, she was still worried. Anything could happen! And of the clan she just might see? She was in fear of just how bad it could be... Seeing half-dead cats struggling for survival, it could indeed be that bad! Fidgeting a little she padded over to Fleetingstar and Hawkwing, keeping a clam expression.

((TIME SKIP just for the sake of moving the RP along.))
Everyone was silent as Fleetingstar, Hawktail, Rollinggust, and Hawkwing, and some Riverclan cats made their way to speak with their leader. It was either the tension in the air or the lack of suitable topics that kept their mouths closed. Either way, the Windclan tom found the quietness welcoming, since it would indicate a peace, even an unstable one.
Finally, they had arrived. Fleetingstar hadn't seen any of the Riverclan leaders enough to pick out their scents from a distance. So he wasn't sure if any of them are here.
"Are they around?" He asked one of the Riverclan cats.
Halcyontail, in the meanwhile, had warned everyone about the company that this place will soon be expecting and had fallen asleep, being exhausted from all the excitement.
((Windclanners will be at camp, wondering wtf is going on. Unless they're one of the cats on the small patrol.
Riverclanners should be at their camp also, wondering wtf is going on too. Unless they're the ones that were around when this whole deal was made.
If this RP isn't finished by monday, then it's assumed that an agreeable compromise has been made and Riverclan's safe. For now.))

(thank you! I was wondering what to do next)
Fernstar had just been heading back to camp to polish off that rabbit that Sootstep had left for her when she scented the strong scent of moorland on her territory. Worried that her warriors had been found out and that Windclan was mounting an attack on their weakened clan in retaliation, the dappled leader picked up her pace and burst into camp a few heartbeats after the Winclan and Riverclan patrols had entered. Her deep blue eyes stared wildly around the two groups of warriors before finally settling on Fleetingstar's form. "F-Fleetingstar!" She spluttered, suddenly feeling a hot flush of embarrassment flood her pelt, "What are you doing here?"
Inside, the pale tortoiseshell berated herself for her stupid question, and she passed a couple swift licks over her chest fur, trying in vain to smooth her appearance slightly. Quickly moving around the two patrols of cats, she sat before Fleetingstar and dipped her head to him hastily. "I assume we have much to discuss, would you please come into my den?" Fernstar's ears were drawn halfway back in dread and deep embarrassment; if Fleetingstar was here, then they had been found out. There was no telling what course of action the Windclan leader would choose to take, but since his patrol seemed to be non-threatening, she hoped they'd be able to talk things out.
As they moved through the Riverclan territory, Hawktail gazed in wonder at the change in foliage around the, normally plentiful, river. She did note a striking lack in prey scent from the territory, however, and twitched her tail in sudden recognition as they reached the riverclan camp. The scent of windclan prey permeated the entire camp, further confirming that Riverclan had been stealing prey for a while. Even so, they were here on a mission to try and maintain peace and balance between clans, so the brown tabby willed her fur to remain unruffled as her yellow-green eyes took in the unique structures of windclan's camp. The ice on the river made for a pleasantly dry crossing, if not a little slippery, but the way Riverclan's dens were formed from the fronds and ferns growing close to the edges of their island was truly fascinating for the foreign she-cat. Here and there, she could spot interesting stones and soft feathers lining or decorating the dens as well.
It was about this time that one of the leaders of Riverclan happened upon them; at least, Hawktail assumed she was a leader based on her shocked expression and the way her eyes locked instantly on Fleetingstar. She didn't really care what the Tortoiseshell leader had to say about the present situation of things, that was leader business, but she was interested to know what the dens in camp looked like on the inside. Riverclan had padded all over their territory for rabbits, so surely it would be alright if she just poked her head into a few dens... just so she could admire them a little more closely... right?

Fleetingstar remained silent as he stepped into Fernstar's den. He rarely had to do this as a leader, going into other clan's camp. It made him a little more tense, a bit awkward, but he had to do this or else another battle could happen. Yup. Everything was going to be just peachy.
"I caught a patrol of Riverclan cats stealing prey on our territory today."
She probably already knew that, seeing as there wasn't any other reason why they would come here. But still. Fleetingstar examined the leader a bit, wondering if she ate some of Windclan's prey herself. She did seem a bit skinnier than her warriors.
"They explained the situation to me, why they had to do what they were doing. I.... am not as ruthless as some of your cats might think. They do deserve a punishment, but I don't want your clan to die of starvation. I was hoping we might come to some sort of compromise, so you all can get enough prey to survive through leafbare."
His voice got a bit quiet towards the end of his small speech. He wasn't used to these kinds of situations either, and waited for Fernstar's response.
Halcyontail was murmuring in her sleep when she felt a prescence of another cat nearby. A cat that smelled of Windclan.
She opened her eyes slowly, remembering what went on earlier. She caught the glimpse of a brown she-cat standing at the enterance of the den, and sighed. Was it a good thing that she was doing that? Her mind was a bit muddled from sleep.
"I assume that they're talking about things right now, aren't they?" She muttered to the Windclan warrior, still lying down.

Rollinggust didn't look around too much, just glanced about every once in a while. If she spent a lot of time analyzing everything over it might rile some cats up a bit. Curiosity killed the cat indeed! She watched as Fleetingstar went to discuss with Fernstar, and stayed close to Hawktail. Everything was so unfamiliar... The scent of rabbit gave her the slight feeling of home, but caused her more discomfort knowing it could have been their fresh-kill, and the meal of a hungry Windclan kit. Siting down she kept her eyes low, thinking about the compromise. Leaf-bare would be over soon... but would the fish come back? How long would this be for? How far will they let Riverclan go? She twitcher the tip of her tail nervously. What would the other leader think and the rest of the clan for that matter? Such a season of troubles... Poor Rollinggust, never at peace with her worries.

Fernstar padded quietly to her nest, absently scraping a few stray pieces of ferns and feathers together to make it seem more presentable. Although she didn't look directly at it, she was also shamefully aware of the rabbit that lay forgotten, for now, nearby as she turned to face the Windclan leader. The pale leader suddenly wished that Mothstar were with her; the other Riverclan leader may have been loose with her tongue and emotions at time, but she was much better at dealing with uncomfortable situations.
"I... was unaware of it at first," She began slowly, her tail unable to remain still behind her, "The twoleg activity around here has been unusually high for Leafbare, and the river has been frozen for moons it seems like. My clan has been growing weaker and weaker and our medicine cats are finding it harder to keep up their herb supplies. The theft began with only a couple of my warriors; I could smell the moor on them as they returned, although they didn't bring their stolen prey into camp right away." Fernstar dropped her eyes from Fleetingstar, her ears drawn back nervously, "I didn't confront them. I should have, but I wasn't sure how, and our clan needed the prey. Even though it was against the warrior code, I turned a blind eye for the sake of my clan, and before long rabbits began replacing fish on our freshkill pile. My clan was still hungry, but were no longer suffering desperately, and I think my silence with them passed about an unspoken encouragement that I didn't intend."
Fernstar was trembling beneath her pelt as she quieted and brought her deep blue gaze back up to meet the Windclan leader's. She didn't know what to expect of him, he said he wasn't ruthless after all even though he did mention punishment for her warriors' transgressions. "I am uncertain of the punishment you had in mind, but Riverclan would be extremely grateful for Windclan's support." She mewed softly, ducking her head again and adding, "I am ashamed of our current weakness and I wish there was another way, but no matter how I look at it, Riverclan cannot survive this leafbare unless we find help or take what we need."
Straightening again, the tortoiseshell leader tried to still her body for a moment and appear strong to Fleetingstar despite her current condition, "I appreciate your offer for assistance, Fleetingstar, and Riverclan is willing to cooperate with Windclan in a compromise. It will be temporary, just until the river thaws and fish become available to my clan again; we do not like being in such a vulnerable position, you understand. We will also be in your debt..."
Hawktail had been unconsciously inching towards the nearest den as she pondered asking aloud for permission to look around, and before she knew it, was peering curiously into the softly-lit den. The inside was decorated, it seemed, with unusual stones and various soft feathers and the fronds were weaved together so thoroughly. Behind her, her brown-striped tail tip flickered excitedly, but the female started suddenly when a voice spoke up nearby. Her eyes locked onto the blue and white she-cat, curled up just inside the den and she suddenly realized two things, she had inadvertently ventured into the warrior's den, and this woken cat had been part of the thieving patrol from earlier. Backing up a couple pawsteps until her head and wandering eyes were no longer intruding upon the den, Hawktail flicked her tail in recognition of the other cat. "Yea, it seems like one of your clan's leaders came back and took Fleetingstar into her den. She seemed rather timid and skittish for a leader though, so I'm not exactly sure, really. She sat down and studied the other cat with a thoughtful, sympathetic expression on her face, "I really do hope our leaders come to a compromise about the prey. Leafbare is hard, but I know Windclan has enough prey to spare this season." She paused a moment and glanced around at the strangely empty camp before returning her attention to the warrior curled up before her. "You don't seem well, are your medicine cats able to give you herbs for strength at least?" Although her questioning might seem intrusive, the Windclan she-cat hid no ulterior motives behind them, just slight anxiety for the other clan and sympathy for their plight.

"Whatever it takes to get your clan back up and running." Fleetingstar nodded. "I do hope that your warriors don't get too used to catching rabbits though. Newleaf isn't that far away, so they'll be back to fishing in no time."
He laughed a bit before drawing a mental map of his territory in his mind. Which part did Windclan hunt in the least in but still had enough prey to help Riverclan? He had to rule out all the places too far from them, but there was one...
"We can offer the area around Fourtrees. It's a bit too tree-infested for us to go to that often and it should be close enough for your warriors to manage. Though there might be a patrol or two that will come by every so often to see that you aren't crossing anymore boundaries."
Halcyontail flicked her ears in irritation at the appearance of another Windclanner, who for some reason was wearing bands around her tail and neck. She knew that there weren't a lot of them, since she was there when the mini patrol was being formed, but still. It seemed like this place was becoming more like Windclan by the minute. First the rabbits, now the warriors.
"The herbs are in short supply too. And it's not like they're a replacement for fresh-kill either." She said with a blank face. The she-cat herself didn't eat any of those herbs, as they were too bitter for her taste.
