can someone tell me the idea behind the "suicide black" type of deck? i haven't built a black deck and i was thinking about deviating from my usual discard theme.

The basic idea of the deck is to put out creatures with a higher P/T than their casting cost would normally allow that have a drawback, such as life loss. Cards like Carnophage and Juzam Djinn are commonplace in decks like these because they are undercosted for their Power/Toughness, but have a drawback that doesn't make a huge difference.

dont forget phyrexian negator

irl no doubt about it. the look on peoples faces when you pull off things are priceless, and to actually have the cards is way better, no risk of someone getting disconnected either

-i'm still on the ol' skoo'side,

hassel.

summonin' your slogger, try like
experimentin' on other red crit's
since u are mono-red addict i'm

Your answer: Hearth Kami.

Or, if you're not going by Type II rules, find some Viashino Heretics.

Remember, the Sword doesn't have protection, just the creature it equips does.

Do you have any tips im gonna try and make a kokoshu the evening star winning victory
PostPosted: Fri Apr 22, 2005 9:12 pm

You might consider going the good ol' Buried Alive/Recurring Nightmare route. For six mana and a creature, you get a Kokusho. For another three mana, you get the "drain for 5" of a Kokusho and another Kokusho. For another three mana, you get another "drain for 5" of a Kokusho and another Kokusho. Rinse and repeat wink Throw a Yosei in there as the third Buried Alive target if you want some pure lockdown.

if you play bk/rd, you got to know how to balance it out. if ur playing ol' skoo', reanimate and animate dead work well and yes buried alive. but type 2, use goryos vengence, slumbering tora and if u run blue gifts ungiven. that will create shear choas and a cheap kill(mana wise) too. cause goryo's cost 2 unless u splice it for 2 and a bk(highly reccommended). tora and gifts put it where u want it. also if bu is in the mix, try reweave on kokusho, to balance it out and have alternate routes. also zombify or beacon of unrest work. and i would strongly suggest spawning pit. it kills Kokusho and it helps create 2/2 blockers. if you dont want bu, try a sherei and kuro combo. the same Ko comes back just to die again. and if u used 3 thats 30 life....
