Although Heret's disappointment to hear that things at home hadn't changed was obvious, he still was smiling as he bounded back over to Lumi, nuzzling her. "Hey, you okay? You're not talking as much as normal. You didn't hurt yourself when you fell, right?"

Lumi smiled and nuzzled Heret back, tenderly, lovingly and reassuringly.
"Of course I'm fine Heret, don't worry about me, Just go and catch up with your broter. I didn't want to bother you."
Lumi smiled loving at Heret, even if he couldn't see she hoped he could feel it as she nudged him back towards the direction of Balin.

"Let's go back to my home. There's room enough for all three of us. We can all talk there." Heret countered, nuzzling Lumi before he moved to lead the way back to his glen. He really wanted the two of them to become good friends. If he had to choose between Balin and Lumi it'd break his heart.
Balin smiled, "Yes, let's see your new place. I haven't gotten the chance yet." He said with a smile, moving to follow after Heret. He sent a short glance to Lumi then back to his brother.

Lumi looked at Balin momentarilly. The look he gave her worried her slightly, she wondered if she'd made a bad impression... She knew she probably had, after all, she was just about to leave Heret becuase of her own stupidity. So instead of looking or focusing on Balin anymore, she went back to focusing on Heret. She'd thought that Heret's brother had set up his home, but when she learned that heret had done it all himself she smiled with pride and bragged for the beauty of it.
"You have no idea what you've missed out on, Heret has made the okace absolutely magnificent. You'll definently love it."

In truth, Balin was indeed worried about how good of a choice Lumi was for Heret. He didn't like having even the smallest chance of his brother getting hurt, but he was not about to control Heret's life and tell him that he couldn't love Lumi. He wasn't father. So instead he simply followed quietly after the pair. "I'm sure I have. Heret has always been talented at making even the most common places beautiful."
At the compliments, Heret blushed lightly. "T-Thanks guys."

If Lumi could kick her own butt at that moment she knows that she would have attempted too. SHe could almost feel the distrust radiating from him. She repressed the urge to sigh becuase she knew Heret would know immediately that something was wrong. Instead she simply nudged Heret teasingly.
"look at how easilly you blush!"
she said giggling trying to not let his brother hear.

Heret blushed even more, "Luuuuumi," he whined softly, "not infront of Balin." The herla nudged Lumi before smiling more as they stepped into his glen. "So, what do you think?" Heret asked as he moved to stand on the bed of leaves he'd made up for himself.
Balin smiled as he looked around, taking his time to inspect the different rocks and artistic aspects of the glen. "This is quiet a place. You haven't lost your touch at all."

Lumi smiled mischeviously as Heret's blush, she really did find it quite adorable. besides, she rationalized in her mind, if Heret were able to see he'd probably try to do the same thing. Lumi perked her ears slightly at the reference to a part of Heret's past.
"Did Heret decorate your glen back home?"
she asked curiously.

"Well, not exactly, I-"
Balin cut him off with a grin, "Yes. Heret decorated my room and his own. He painted a mural on on wall of his room. You should have seen it, it was very bright and detailed." He stated, nudging his brother. "But frankly, I like this place more. It's more peaceful and the beauty's more.... subtle."

Lumi's eyebrow quirked up as her happy smile turned to one of inquisitiveness, curiosity taking over as she mulled over the fact that un-like most of the Herla she knew, Heret and his family had lived inside of a structure with walls, and in seperate bedrooms. She'd only known of a few families that had ever done that, and those were the upper class.
"wait a minute... rooms? really? wow..."
-turns to Heret-
"Your family must have some standing in society"
-adds in quickly-
"n-n-not, i mean... not that mattes or anything... just... you know..."
Lumi decided it was probably best to not talk anymore at that point.

Heret wanted to kick Balin at that moment. "W-We just lived in an old city of Man that was carved into the mountains. There were other herla in it too." He contridicted, telling another half truth. "It wasn't all that grand..." Lumi couldn't know who his father was. He was embarassed to admit that he was the son of such a b*****d, and he felt that if Lumi found out about his father, then his father would find out about Lumi and that could never happen.

A confused look made its way onto Lumi's facce. "But Heret, I thought you said you grew up near the mountains... not in them... I lived there all my life and I'd never even KNOWN there was a city in the mountains that hadn't been destroyed..."

"It's hard to explain I guess. I said we lived near the mountains because although our home was carved into the cliff of one, we never actually ventured further up the mountains. Everything we did outside of our home was in the forests surrounding the mountains. I don't consider myself to have lived in the mountains though." Heret tried to explain, frowning lightly. "And our old home is quite a way from here. It's a good three week journey from the Glen, so maybe they're different mountains..."

Lumi couldn't help the pout that crossed over her features, She wondered if Heret had been telling the truth? If he wasn't, what right did she have to be mad? after all, She too had told him her fair share of 'half truths'. Though she was still slightly dissapointed.
"well that's upsetting... It was kinda romantic to think that we'd grown up so close to one anouther" she laughed in an attempt to hide the dissapointment at the news. "we could have gossiped about the local 'royalty' "

One of Heret's ears flicked back for a split second as he frowned. She wasn't talking about..... Crap. "Yeah, they could be pretty bad where I was too... What did they do that you'd complain about?" He asked, pretending to gossip along as Balin watched quietly.
