I've just finished reading Sherlock Holmes, The Long Stories. Started it a fair while ago, but with what's been going on lately it was forgotten about until a few days ago, when I picked it back up. I found it quite enjoyable, certainly an interesting read.

I've been reading a great deal more lately, primarily because my commute to work is ridiculously long. I'm also in two book clubs now. One, which I've been a part of longer, takes place at a local bookseller each month and is geared toward adults who enjoy YA fiction. As such, a number of its members are librarians. The other is online and geared toward Lolita, and as such, we read a lot of Victorian books.
I also read a lot on my own just because there's not much to do when one is poor, save read. Since the year started I've read Melmoth the Wanderer, Ender's Game, Wuthering Heights, and Persuasion. I'm about a quarter of the way through Josh's copy of the complete Poe, and I should finish Little Lord Fauntleroy tonight. I'm hoping to go to the library on Wednesday to check out my book club selections for March: I Am the Cheese and Emma, and I'll probably start one of Josh's selections for his English class in the meantime, as I haven't read most of them before.

There are so many good books out there.... Here are a few of my favorites: The Tale of Desperaux The Miraculous Adventure of Edward Tulane The Harry Dresdan Series (Josh reminds me of the main character lol) Maximum Ride Series, but only books 1-3 The Anita Blake Series
And just a small note: I don't hate science fiction, I just find it hard to enjoy, if you know an extremely good science fiction novel, please tell me.
And I hate twilight and all the dumb fangirl producing books about fake vampires.

I read a wide variety of books. Sci-fi/fantasy is high on the list but modern fiction and classic fiction also run through my fingers as well.

This poor thread has been deceased for a while, which leads me to believe that the people who frequent this forum have no interest in reading, but if anyone likes YA fiction, please follow my blog: An Obsolete Child. I recently posted a review of Hunger Games (finally!) and upcoming books reviewed will include The Monstrumologist, Hero, and Godless.

I will read anything and everything that catches my eye. I'll even buy a book just because the style of the text on the cover looked interesting. I also tend to be stubborn and will force myself to finish reading even the dullest of books as I hate not knowing how they end.
I am currently muddling my way through Cryptonomicon which I bought at a Friends of the Library sale because it said there would be adventure and pirates, there has yet to be either. I am also reading a book about various supposedly haunted locations by Leslie Rule. The title escapes me at the moment however.

I'm currently reading The Stand by Stephen King. I'd heard so much about it, so I went out and bought it just before christmas last year. However, it's been VERY hard going.

It's not uninteresting, it's just taking a while to get into the story.

I've had that problem with most of the Stephen King novels I've tried to read. He seems to spend too much time describing the characters in the beginning of the story.

Cryptonomicon is getting shelved again for awhile since my mom gave me a new book to read. She said it was really good and I've been wanting to watch the movie that was based on it so we'll see. Hopefully The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will be a more interesting read.

Never Stop Dreaming...
I'll read just about anything- except romances. I find them uninteresting and they are- to say in the least, not my cup of tea. Especially the ones with a lot of sex or about the supernatural. Not good with Sci-fi either.
I LOVE action novels, manga- anything with fists and blood I'll devour. I like mysteries and gritty stories about love, loss, and change too. Or comedies. Most recent books I've read were Graveyard Boy and Good Omens both by Neil Gaiman.
Of That Beautiful Place..
