(( come on guys! crying I feel crazy always checking this thread.. And I have to go back to school after tomorrow! Then I can't post until friday >_>; ))

Hikaru jumped down out of the tree and walked over to where Lokail was standing. he was a little confused as to what the point of this was so he thought about it for a moment before answering the question to the best of his abilities.

"I'm sort of confused as to what the point of this was but if i had to guess i would say that it was to teach us how to think on our feet and complete a mission without asking questions or assuming there's a hidden meaning to the mission. for instance if you get a mission to kill a rouge ninja the person who put in the request for the ninja to take on the quest doesn't want you to go climb a tree. but on top of everything else i believe this exercise was to expose our true emotions. its a little sad but greed is natures most potent truth serum."

Hikaru was still a little puzzled by now but Mika got the bell and that was all that mattered because now she would receive a special training which would make her stronger and a valuable asset on the field of battle.

Lokail looked at his students with an intimidating stare, obviously taking in and judging their every word. Finally, not responding immediately after they were all done talking, he burst into laughter. Normally this would be a good thing, however as his students probably already knew, a happy Lokail was often not good. Finally, he stood up straight, obviously trying to keep a smile back.

Alright, so your survival challenge will actually be a little game! Oh yes, and Mika, you WILL be competing in this game. He then began his chuckling to himself again. You see, all of your efforts and goals were to help the one who needed it most, to try and save her, even with all your efforts her survival chances are still the same. The point of this lesson was to teach you that no matter how hard you try, no matter what you do, there is a chance that you'll fail in the end. But despite this, you must keep telling yourself to go on, to be stronger. Ah yes, the game! He moved his hand out and sand from the desert started moving its way into the oasis. The sand went over the water in the middle to the other side and formed a little bridge that was only a few inches wide.

You will be on teams. Hikaru, you'll be with Leon since i believe you need to learn how to break away from your protective nature, and Leon, you need to learn how to get past your 'issues'. That means Rush and Mika will be on the other team. Now, here is the jist of the exercise: Two of you will be fighting, trying to keep balance while wearing heavy weights. The other two will be holding ropes tied to the others waist, if one falls in, it'll be up to his team mate to save him from a watery grave. Now it sounds like the ones holding the ropes are safer, however i have a few 'surprises' planned. And if anyone tries to do the pacifistic route, or let go of the rope and with the second part he glared at Leon. The fight will then be against me.

((So i'm not going to give the DC yet because i want to balance it depending on whose fighting and whose holding the other one up. So just decide who on your team wants to do what. I'll post the DC's afterwords.))

((Just so you all know, I've been forgetting to update Rush's height/weight for the time skips, Rush is NOT 5' 4" and 89 lbs. He's closer to 5'10" and 133 lbs.))

Rush, despite phrase like 'watery grave' and 'fight Lokail', was a bit excited about the task. Almost enough to overlook the fact his moral dilemas and carefull decisions were pretty much all for nothing. Well, at least this was a competition with a mose straitforward approach. Mika was the obvious choice to be on the rope because she is lighter, and Rush is stronger. . . But in a fight Rush would win more likely and might not require dependence on Mika at all. Oh wait, thats right. This is a team exersize. He'd be robbing Mika of valuble experience to just have her do nothing, and this all was assuming Rush would win and not fall which isn't technically a guarantee. But Hikaru is the strongest in terms of physical strength of all four of them and if he's doing the same job as Mika, she'd have even worse odds than Rush would, whose still would be pretty bad . . . Also Lokail mentioned surprises in the hinting way that the rope holder should be terrified, but maybe Rush's glaze armor would be enough for protection from whatever. Although he'd be hindered with the holding the rope . . .

. . . Rush cleared his head. The problem with being surely unconfident is all the worst case scenarios that drift through the psyche in a matter of seconds. Had Rush an entire 30 seconds to contemplate the cons on each side, he'd be nearly incolable by the end. He needed to work on getting over it, or at least managing it into a constructive thought process, rather than the opposite. He paused briefly, let no sorely negative thoughts enter his head and made a decision without worry and with a deep breath, turned to Mika with his typical sincere smile,

"I think I should hold the rope, I can keep you up no matter what Lokail throws at me."

He claimed with a tone of confidence that he didn't actually have, but as long as Mika thought he was confident, she would be at ease.
Although now other, while not negative but still distracting, thought came into Rush's mind. Lokail used the phrase 'pacifistic route' . . . Did that mean the rope holder was supposed to be offensive? Could the interfere with the other rope holder. That would be a aspect of the game Rush wouldn't put past Lokail, and one Rush himself could deal with in terms of winning the game.

((Edit: I'm just adding a bit more so as not to do two posts. Got to save the cyber trees, conserve your posts!))

Considering the idea of the wielder of the rope has a job other than, well, other than holding the rope was intriguing, and played with Rush a bit more. Oh wait, Lokail said there would be other surprises. The rope holder would be most likely busy with whatever that is. Unless Lokail expected the holder's to handle all three jobs. At this point, it seemed worth an inquiry,

"Um . . . Lokail? Does frowing upon pacifism somehow imply that the rope holder will be active in disrupting the other team as well?"

Hikaru heard all that Lokail had to say and was a little mad that he was on leon's team but knew it was fair. Hikaru looked at Lokail and then back at Leon. "Well Leon it looks like were going to be partners. I'll hold the rope and if you take this fight against Mika too far i will have no problems stepping in and ending it." Hikaru knew Leon was insane so threats probably just glance off of his shoulder. "Normal teams only have four total ninja including the sensei so It wont be my fault if were one short." Hikaru stood on the one side of the bridge to wait for further instruction if need be.

Leon was tickled about this exercise. He was not necessarily pleased by the results of teaming, seeing as how the person that was supposedly guarding his life had a unreasonable vendetta against him. So he could have possibly gotten her killed, the real crime in his eyes was that he was prevented. He grinned his foxy grin as Hikaru let his lack of care for Leon's well being known, and he approached Hikaru and stood by him. In a somewhat whisper he stated, "My how valiant comrade. But you mistake my nature as one of prejudice. Your little lotus has never been the object of my, how you say 'unsociable' appetite, but rather the sad coincidence of being my equal. True, her natch for being rescued by the more seasoned teammates proves to be a thorn in my ribcage. But none the less, there is no real sense of hatred for her. In fact her ability to claim sovereignty over you might be quite useful..." His eyes gleamed at this as he stared into Hikaru. "This is no surprise of course. What is a surprise is that untold level of deviance lurking in your heart. Not that you would want to kill him, that much can be expected. But that your lust for piousness would extend so far as to invoke the wrath of lokail in letting me fall to my death? Now that I applaud you for. It seems I should the one worried for my life as I sleep, my malicious comrade." He let out a low cackle, as the darkness in other's hearts often did.

((*kicks* Take it to OoC!!! And Bloodweb, you know i'm perfectly sane! I just like to test my mortality!))

Lokail looked at the groups that had been assigned to different jobs, nodding his head in approval. He walked over to the rocks, reaching in for a while muttering something about how annoying it was to loot dead bodies, before shortly after coming out with two waist weights. He fastened one around Leon, and one around Mika. He then tied a rope to these weights handed the rope to the respective people.

Alright, now here are the rules. Your goal is to defeat the other team, knock out or kill, i don't really care. Now the people holding the rope, you're job is to keep your team mate from drowning. Even your team mate bleeding to death is a better alternative. If they drown, you lose. Now rope holders, you may not interfere with the people fighting And with that he shot a sly smile. Fighters, your job will be to win the fight. This exercise is to teach the important of supporting your team mates, and how you can't win a fight with sheer brawn. He then motioned to the sand bridge. It seemed like a normal small bridge for the most part, however where Hikaru and Rush were stationed there was a slight abnormality. There was a small box of kunai placed next to each with a note simply saying: 'do what you must.'

((Alright, so DC's and rules
Fighters: If you get hit you must roll a balance check DC: 12
You start one move turn away from each other.
If you successfully grapple your opponent and try to throw them off the balance check increases to 19

Support:
To pull your team mate out of the water strength check DC: 14
Be creative smile
Your challenge will come later in the fight))

((Your challenge will come later in the fight . . . yeah, if you're conscious for it! yeah, sorry Hikaru, you have the bad luck to be agaisnt the ranged specialist . . . Oh also sorry if the post is riddles with typos and errors because my cat is currently enamored with the stringy headphones attached to the speakers right near the keyboard, so she has the good nature to occasionally roll over on it in glee as the screen voices her joy, shouting a hearty JKLJKLJKL!#3gfsfffffffffffffffff))

Rush contemplated the discreet yet suggesting manner of Lokail's words. While Rush did not favor bloodshed, that was seemed something many of Lokail's exersizes called for. Rush looked at the box of dagger-like weaponry. He perfered his own weapon. Minimal bloodshed, still potent effect.

Rush took the rope and coiled it up his left arm, tying it to the ninja headband he kept on his left bicep. Tight enough to keep a decent amount of control over it, but not to tight to cut off circulation. Rush sat by box of kunai, waiting for everyone to get situated, and looking at the many trees. Lokail probably wouldn't let him use one as a practice target here. He seemed to treasure the life here, understandably, scarce it is both in the desert and in Lokail's world. He missed his tree from Konoha, as well as his family's tome of jutsu. Maybe one day he would return in hopes of finding some remains of it there. All the while of thinking, Rush had been twirling a Senbon between his fingers, the cold, slender metal sliding like fluid throughout his appendages. Senbon were a beautiful weapon. Had Rush a bloodlust, he'd take more pleasure in the artistic nature of true specialists. But his significant skill in senbon was usually only second to his less harmfull incapitation, the caramel trap. Rush had been meaning to study human anatomy to beable to induce unconsciousness upon enemies in fewer hits with better precision.

but these were all hopes for the future, no doubt soon to come to fruition under Lokail's eye, but still a distraction right now. He couldn't let his mind wander too far now, so he reeled it back in on the matter at hand. He knew Hikaru was the strongest ,muscle-wise, here and he would find it much easier to save Leon than Rush would Mika. Hopefully he could take Hikaru before Leon were to knock Mika off or vise versa. Rush's advantage did not lie with strength, but the skill needed to hinder the opponent in an indirect, yet still effective way.

(( Fzck MY life... ok, once again. Im sorry for being a horrible rp partner.. ))

Mika's eyes twitched a small bit as Lokail sensei spoke. This crazy man never seases to amaze me.. Her teacher was clearly a complete nut job. Mika shook her head a small bit. With an eyeroll she said, " I do think thats the most logical Rush." She then shuffled towards him to grab the rope and secure it around her waist. "Now lets just hope I can stay balanced..", there was not much confidence in her voice. She knew that Leon was much more dexteritous ( ? ) than she was. More nimble, but she had a tad more mustle than he did. This exercise would most definatly not be easy. Mika walked towards the water front and small plank. She shook her head again, My crazy sensei..

((Yay, alright! you're here, lets do this! Go team us!!))

Rush was readied, as was Mika. Rush felt he understood the ends and purpose of this challenge, and so was much more confident in his ability to participate in the more effective manner. He and Mika were a team. In this sense, Mika was a warrior, and Rush her guardian angel. That probably glorified the idea a bit too much, but the concept was similar enough. Rush was to protect Mika's life with his own. By any means except interfering with the fight itself. Despite the fact that Lokail did have some 'surprises for him and Hikaru, Rush still could grasp the challenge proficiently enough to be effective.
