A Just War

A yawn was heard, "Nee-chan are you back?" A voice emanated from the corner of the court. The long slender figure that was Raijin rose up slowly before stretching and rubbing the back of his neck before slowly slinking out into the light. "I assume the mission was a success?" He grumbled knowing full well that his master would not fail, she couldn't. At least Raijin believed she was undefeatable, That's why he gave her a nickname that allowed him to form a bond with her.

He watched her blow the steam from the blade smirking a bit liking the fact that she had a sense of humor about her, even if it was buried deep down inside. He then felt her reiatsu flux now sensing her unease. He wanted to say something reassuring but he knew if he got all touchy feely should would probably beat that crap out of him.... again

Hielo felt a specific atraction to the butterfly a sense of power, it became obsesive to him and he also believed that is was so with Jes as well."But you're still angry and this ice shell will break easily I think I should hold on to it,my preacious."(Smeagol accent)Then he closes his eyes thinking what the f**k it going on with me he threw it into the ground, the ice shell fell off because of the speed with which it threw it down, he fell to the ground wounded unable to fly or move, "TAKE THE DAMN THING !!!" He then turned around and walked out to look at the sky, it was usually what calmed him down.

Jes knelt and scooped up the injured soul as if its feathery-soft wings were fragile as glass. It crawled feebly in her palm, losing its balance and revealing a slightly-crushed abdomen. The pulsing white-blue of its power seemed to have faded and a thin rime of frost still clung to it. Jes cupped it in her hands, cradling it to her chest.

Irial, Jes was far to preoccupied to reprimand Ice in any way or even acknowledge Raijin's presence-- as comforting as she sometimes found it to be. It didn't matter, anyway. If she lost the soul now... If I lose her, it should be easy to find a replacement, she thought, trying to fool herself into a sense of indifference, but it wouldn't wash.

Irial, what do I do? She appealed to the entity within her blade. This had been his idea, after all. And, in truth, she didn't really know how to bring the soul into her corporeal form. She worked to keep her hands from shaking, not wanting to injure the soul any further, but the panic was firmly written in her eyes. And then Irial was beside her, visible only to her, a personal hallucination, all darkness and stunning blue-black eyes. It calmed her somewhat to see him, and he cupped his hands under hers, steadying them.

If you really want her back, you'll know exactly what to do. His voice was in her head. Do you want her back? Do you want your sister back?

"Yes," Jes replied, not realizing she'd spoke aloud. She felt Irial smile in response, and he lifted their cupped hands to eye level. Without thinking, Jes breathed gently on the insect, small streamers of shadow mingled with her breath, sinking in to the butterfly. Then Irial lowered their hands to the ground, gently depositing the soul on the obsidian floor.

And when Jes looked up again, he was gone.

Iri-- Jes started, but the soul on the floor caught her attention. It was glowing brightly, reflected against the dark volcanic glass a hundred times over.

(now i don't know what's supposed to happen XD i'll leave it to littlebick)

Waking up.

It feels like I've been sleeping for so long, but I don't recall falling asleep. Nor do I know what I was before this sleep claimed me.

The white-blue soul of the butterfly grew brighter, obscuring its injured body, likely forcing most bystanders to shade their eyes from the glow. The shape within the glow grew and ran, wings and small insect body growing out of proportion, taking on an entirely new form. The reiatsu signature emanating from the soul grew to fill the entire room, mingling with the present shadows of Jes's power, causing the walls to shiver. Small, razor sharp obsidian shards burst under the pressure, shooting off in all directions.

At its brightest, there was a sudden shudder as the energies swirling around the obsidian room were drawn violently back into its glowing shell, filling the new form with a nearly impossible amount of energy.

Then the glow began to fade, reiatsu and shadow pulled back into the glowing, now-human form. The light dulled and sank into the skin of the girl lying where the butterfly had been. Her complexion settled into a tan, bronzed-brown hair splayed like a halo around her head. Small spiderwebs of ice still clung to her, tracing along her jaw, neck, and chest. Fierce bruising traced up the length of her left leg and over her stomach.

She lay still at first, then stirred, then shivered reflexively, curling up on her side and coughing. Her eyes popped open, a deep, deep brown. A scar ran vertically over the lid of her right eye, but both eyes were bright and clear. They registered shock and panic at the figures gathered around her. The woman closest to her regarded her with eyes the same shade as blood, and the girl recoiled, attempting to cover her nakedness as she did so.

(nekkid XD)

Jes watched the ensuing transformation with a certain hunger. There was no doubt this soul was powerful, if the sheer about of energy filling the Court was any indication. A sharp piece of obsidian shot past her cheek, but her hierro prevented it from cutting her skin. She didn't blink as it shot off on a tangential path.

As the glow faded, Jes was able to see the figure that had formed as well. The looked different that she recalled. Her hair wasn't quite the right shade of brown, but the skin was the same as she remembered. The scars on the inner forearms had been traded for a single vertical one of her right eye. A bubble of nausea rose in Jes's stomach as the possibility that this wasn't her sister at all occurred to her.

But then her eyes opened. Those dark brown eyes, clear and bright, they met with her own, and Jes's heart shuddered. This had to be her. There was no two ways about it. Although the girl had recoiled, she reached out and gently drew her close, curling her body protectively over the girl's bare form. Tenderly, she combed a bit of lingering frost from her curls.

"Raijin," Her voice was rough. "A blanket or something, if you don't mind,"

"Of course not Nee-chan, though who is she?" He said unwrapping himself from the blanket he was using to bundle up, he folded it before handing it too her, "Sorry it's already warm... I was a bit bored when you left so I took a nap" He said kneeling down to look at her. Raijin wouldn't dare touch or move closer His Nee-chan was still an espada and he knew full well that he was not to even act as if this person was someone he could interact with unless permission was given.

His emerald eyes suddenly seem luminescent, he had never seen someone in las noches without a hole or mask remnant. even when kneeled he was still close to Nee-chan's height he let out a chuckle at this he being the only one who's mind would wonder at such a time like this.

Then out of the courts corridors came out Ice, he had just arrived from outside where he went to calm down.He noticed the girl lying on the floor,"So is this she...", then bended to take a closer look at the girl, the energy surrounding her made him understand why she was so important to Jes,"I guess she doesn't likes me." said Ice after remembering what he's been threw due to her.
PostPosted: Sun Aug 09, 2009 10:51 pm

"No, this is just fine," Jes took the blanket Raijin had given her, wrapping it around the girl. The remaining frost from Ice's technique melted in the lingering heat. "This... This is all right,"

She couldn't stop staring at her sister-- she'd have to explain that one to Raijin eventually. Then again, maybe he didn't need to know. In any case, the girl was only a little different, but that was a result of reincarnation. The soul was exactly the same, and perfect for her designs. She shifted the girl, blanket and all, into her lap. Judging by her expression, she didn't seem to recall much of anything after her death, nor, perhaps, before that. Maybe it would come back with time.

And then maybe it would not. And maybe it was better that way. From what Jes had gathered of this girl's death, it had been awful. For the sake of her sanity, it was better she did not know.

"No, Hielo," Jes responded to Ice's comment. "She might not remember much of anything," Now speaking to the girl, she asked, "Do you know who you are, little soul? A name, maybe?"

"We should name her something pretty Nee-chan, what was your mother called?" He asked still kneeling down looking at her then returning his gaze back up to Jes, "So I suppose we're keeping her then? Does this mean your gonna get another fraccion? I certainly hope not cause I'm already starved of attention you barely even smile at me anymore" Raijin said jokingly hoping to get her to snap out of it or smile or something.

Raijin then thought for a second trying to figure out what he could do to help out Jes even more, he didn't really care about ice as a matter of fact Raijin didn't really pay attention to him or really like him all that much. Though he guessed if Jes could stand him he would have to as well.

Shock was giving way to confusion. She didn't recognize anyone around her, though they all stared at her with the most intense interest. The red-eyed woman reached for her, and she flinched, but she was surprised to find herself pulled close and cradled like a small child. The blanket was a welcome relief, too. She warmed instantly, though as the woman shifted her again, her left leg ached terribly and she winced. Glancing beneath the blanket, she found dark bruises all over her left side. Disturbed, she dropped the blanket back and curled more securely into the woman's protective embrace.

There were voices around her, but she didn't seem able to focus on them. She was very tired and strangely empty. She reached first for her most immediate past to give her a clue as to her whereabouts, but found she couldn't even dredge up a single memory. It left her feeling alarmingly hollow.

The red-eyed woman asked a question, then. A simple question. A name? Yes, of course she had a name. Everyone has a name, she thought, searching for her own. Again blank.

Not good... Her brow furrowed in confusion. She listened to further discussion above her, realizing they meant to name her themselves. Apprehensive of what they might come up with, she fished about in her head. Come on, a name, a name...

"Rhy--" She blurted out, pausing, tripping over her tongue. "Sara," She said finally, eyes wide, panicked as if she might have chosen the wrong answer.

Raijin looked at her noticing she was tired, "Sara eat this" Raijin said turning and walking over to a table where he picked up a basket of food and brought it back setting it down in front of her, "You'll find yourself being able to focus and heal faster when you get some food in you" Raijin said pushing the basket a bit closer, it was true that when spirit's were born again they needed to eat food constantly in order to keep from tiring out.

Raijin sighed now sitting down his knees getting a bit tired from being in an awkward position it was quite obvious Jes's maternal instincts had kicked in so right now it looked almost like a game of house. Jes the mother, Raijin the father and Ice the weird annoying brother. Raijin chuckled at this realization though he didn't really think him and Jes's relationship was anywhere near the to that of a married couple

Sara-- yes, she felt certain that was her name--looked at Raijin with interest. He was tall and imposing, a shock of blond hair above very tan skin and bright green eyes. The eyes were strange--there was black where there should have been the white of the eyeball.

Unnerved, she dropped her gaze to the basket of fruit he'd set in front of her. It was almost jarring to see something so ordinary as fruit in such a strange place as this. Still, she realized she was ravenous, and she chose an apple from the basket. She didn't bite into it, though. Instead, she rolled it between her palms, looking from face to face. These were strange people. They had weird masks and she though she saw holes through some of their bodies, but that could have been a trick of the odd lighting.

She looked at the apple in her hands for a moment, then up again "So... What happened? Was I... was I in an accident or something? There are bruises on my leg and stomach-- I don't...," She trailed off, almost afraid of the answers.

"Oh boy" said Ice, he knew the girl needed an explanation, to him the name Sara was a weird name, he took a quick scan of the girl he realized a scared spirit much like him when he was in her state but unlike him she awoken surrounded by people who at least feed her, his first experience was his attack by the adjunchas around him so he felt a bit jealous by all of the girl's attention."You were chosen to serve, so don't get used to this special treatment because it won't last."He wanted to help shape her into an emotionless monster much like the way he used to think, "I did all those bruises to you, and you want to know why, because I don't give a f**k about your damn feelings so get used to it, but what you don't know is that I did it for your own good because why doesn't kills you only makes you stronger, we've been throw a lot of s**t because of you so make it worth it!" his tone was loud and cruel with no mercy inside it his message was made to test her reaction's to see her character form. Then out of nowhere he kicked her hands throwing he able in mid air and then with a quick blow of his sword he slicked the apple in half, "You want food, then get your own food!", then he walked away from the court outside only to light up a cigarette to help him chill his nerves, he saw the emotions of his 2 fellow arrancars and saw them as weakness, something he didn't dare tolerate.

Raijin sighed stopping Ice's slash with his left index finger, "You don't dare touch food that isn't yours" He said catching the apple with right hand. "Do not think for a second that just because your Nee-chan's newest pet will keep me from chopping off that little head if you step out of place. Your in the presence of the primera espada if she doesn't object to what Sara has done neither do you. Else I'll make sure you won't be using those hands anymore" He said putting the apple back into Sara's hand returning his attention to her not bothering to watch the boy leave. "Do not pay attention to him I have a feeling you shall surpass him soon enough. Perhaps you can get rid of him when you do" He said letting out a sigh a bit annoyed by the display of idiocy Ice had just put on. Though who cannot control their emotions are too weak to be soldiers and the weak will always be killed.

Sara'a reiatsu flared wildly, quick anger flashing in her eyes, speaking to a violent temper. Her hands clenched into fists, and she strongly considering popping the guy one in the teeth, but she didn't quite trust her legs to support her. If he had been the one who hurt her-- it was a little frightening not to remember that-- she remembered enough of herself to know she should never let people beat her down or assume control.

But then the man who'd given her the apple spoke again, and the anger fled. She met his strange, green eyes with a fierce look. Though she didn't want to believe it, she felt as though the rude guy had spoken the truth. If she'd caused them that much trouble, if she owed them all that much--

"Tell me what to do, and I'll do it," She looked to the woman who still held her, then back at the towering, green-eyed man. The feeling that she owed these strange people a great debt struck home. "I'll do anything,"
