If my calculations are correct your jackal cannot block either of these attacks. 10 to 14 + (5) Agility Mod x 2 = 36! Also on my last attack could you add my Agility mod to the attack for the sneak attack bonus, lowering the jackals HP to 24. (Not like it matters)

As the Jackals dropped dead from the hard blows from the genins, the farmers began to relax, but medical attention was definitely needed. "Karu!" her husband called out as he went running to his badly injured wife. "You call this protection?" the man said with tear stained eyes as he quickly began ripping his shirt to dress the wounds the woman had rather poorly. Haish did the same with the boy, glaring at Aya the same.

Aya was breathing hard as the last jackal fell to his death. It was convenient that she defeated her jackal the same time as Kana. She let out a small smile towards her partner in joy that they had defeated the beasts. "What were those?" she asked him, not sure what type of animal they were. Just after she asked, she saw the two men of the group running to Tum and Karu. She saw the cold stares and heard the cries from Karu. Knowing that Tum was more than ok for now, Aya went running over to Karu. "Wait, don't dress those yet," she said, batting off the man in order to perform her medical technique on the woman. "I reserved some of my chakra for this reason," she said with a bit of a tone, since the man was already hatin' on them. With her hands glowing slightly from her concentrated chakra, Aya began to run it over the woman's wounds from the bites. They immediately stopped bleeding and were already healing up rather nicely with Aya's quickening of the healing process. "You'll be just fine. Tum only has a few scratches on him, so he should be ok," Aya told them as she finished up her technique and stood up. "Are you ok, Kana-kun?" she asked, the sweetness returning to her voice as she spoke to her favorite Kun Kumo~!

The young mans knee collided with the Jackals head, smearing blood from three different beings across the knee, staining his pure white shorts with the liquid. Maneuvering into another attack the Genin launched his foot into the air and quickly brought it down into the spine of the black haired beast, maroon sandals digging into the sweaty, hairy back until a gut wrenching snap could be heard. Kana's furious multicolored eyes watched intensely as the animal took its last breaths and its eyes hollowed, the earthy brown iris's glazing over quickly. The barbaric young man heard a cry from the farmer but didn't pay any mind, his vision was limited to the cooling corpse under the maroon sandals he wore. The auburn haired young mans leg jounced a bit as the air escaped from the dogs mouth, its damp tongue rolling from its wet cave one last time. Kana wouldn't have noticed the glare if it hadn't been for Aya who asked if he was alright. He looked up towards the sky and covered his shoulder with the blood dried hand. At the moment it seamed as though he wasn't all there when he opened his mouth to speak, waiting until the last moment to speak his mind. "Me, yea..." Kana then added. "I'm peachy-keen." The young man shifted his stare from the sky and looked into Aya's eyes with a gentle and charismatic smile. Looking to the woman he understood that she was fine and had nothing to worry about thanks to his partners amazing healing abilities. "I did my best." Kana exclaimed with a understanding look on his face. "But, she would be dead if we weren't here to help." Kana said sternly to the farmer, his brow furrowing a bit at the mans hurtful question.

Jonu was just about to step in and assist the pair when the satisfying thuds of the dogs hitting the ground resounded throughout the valley. Aya had done a well enough job against two of the beasts, while Kana had a bit more difficulty in handling himself. At first the captain considered scolding the boy in the way that he had scolded his former crew members after doing a job that didn't quite meet his expectations. However, the man could easily tell that Kana simply hadn't trained as long and as hard as his female counterpart had. The boy seemed to have a pretty good grasp on genjutsu, but he lacked the jutsu to truly explore this strength. In that moment, Jonu decided to take it upon himself to help Kana explore and utilize his strength so that he wouldn't be wasting his time trying to use weaker means of combating enemies. On the other hand, it was clear that Aya was just about ready for the chuunin exams. What she really lacked was a powerful finishing technique that would incorporate both her raw skill and the brilliant tactics that she could come up with on the fly. Having made up his mind about a few things, Jonu realized that it was time to speak to his squad. "A bit too close for comfort, kiddies, but well done nonetheless."
Jonu glared at the man who had allowed his emotions to consume him Having seen many battles and injuries himself, the captain couldn't understand why he wasn't thanking the group for how they had ended up saving each member of the group. If the team hadn't escorted them through the valley, the dogs would have managed to kill all of them anyway. Jonu had become quite Curious as to why the hounds had seemed to be so interested in the group, and especially the cart. It was if they were robbers, focusing on the bounty more than the battle. After reaching it, Jonu removed the cover, revealing a strong odor that was accompanied by a surprising sight. The wagon had been stuffed full of various kinds of sausages, which could likely be smelled by the animals from miles away. He looked back at the man who had led the group and spoke very sternly. "It would 'ave been nice to 'ave known what we would 'ave been askin' for dis entire time. You best get your senses about yourself and 'elp the woman walk the rest of the way." With that said, Jonu turned back to his squad, still feeling slightly angry about how a few wild animals who hadn't even workd together had nearly managed to overtake the group. "We best hurry out of 'dis valley before it get too dark, savvy?"

Aya felt a little nervous as she felt the tensions between the shinobi and farmers intensify. She moved over to stand next to Kana as Jonu walked over to speak with the farmer and his wife. The girl grew a little uneasy and grabbed for Kana's hand, afraid that a quarrel would break out between the two. As Jonu revealed what they were hauling in the cart, Aya felt her heart lighten. If they would've known about the sausage in the cart, she and Kana would've been much more prepared for an attack from Jackals. "Hai, sensei!" Aya chirped, throwing up a salute and walking back over to her side of the cart. "Are you ok, Tum-Tum?" the girl asked the boy who had been scratched up by the Jackals. Aya herself had been hit even worse, but she didn't complain. She would be healing herself soon after she knew everyone else was alright.
Once getting a nod or an ok from the boy, Aya would return to her post on her side of the cart, much more aware of animal attacks now that the sausage was a clear factor in their travels. The girl wish she would've had an animal partner like Baki to point out such a thing before the journey had started. Noburo had been here, but she had been high up in the sky...

The slightly angered eyes returned to the young Shinobi's bounty as it lied lifeless under the rigid sandal, creating a foot shaped impression in the black fur. As the young man was bringing the sandal to solid ground he could feel a gentle push on his head, as if something had settled atop his auburn hair, and he softly felt along his dome to find the object. The pale skin of his palms contrasted greatly with the crimson red dried blood that lined the young yet experienced fingertips that caressed the rough extremities of the unknown object that rested upon the Genin's head. Kana moderately squeezed the article with his fingers, unraveling it from the soft auburn strands of hair and brought the object into his vision. A delicate fuchsia petal positioned itself within the calloused hands of the Shinobi, his multicolored eyes scanning the beauteous fragile piece of nature.
The leaf was oval shaped and tinted a pearl white towards the thinning base. The Genin brushed the seemingly insignificant petal with his index finger, causing it to separate down the middle and curl at the sides. His spirits dampened a bit for a moment as the young man realized what he had done, his eyes intensely focused on what seemed to him the smallest spectacle of life to be created. It was a shame that the petal had swelled at the sides and cracked down the center, it made the once gorgeous piece of a mosaic seem like a dismal reject of nature. Kana's eyes lifted from the leaf to the plump woman and her nursing husband, realizing that life was so elegant and critical that even the slightest disturbance could cause it to deteriorate. He certainly didn't want that to happen to any of his loved ones, and he now had a better understanding of what it was to be a Shinobi and more importantly what his Sensei Ichi had thought and saw during his times of war or battle.
The Genin's attention was stolen from the flower petal while the Pirate spoke of the close encounter, his mind blanked for a moment while his eyes penetrated the leaf. "Is there really ever any comfort in this. . ." Kana murmured to himself and the lonely petal that had been stripped from its colorful family. His dark and cloudy thoughts distracted himself from the unveiling of the cart, revealing a load of meat that smelled worse than the stripped unorganized animal innards looked. The Genin's furious eyes scoured the farmers faces with great animosity. Quite abruptly his hand was taken by the girl, his rough hand sliding against her pure smooth skin like sandpaper. The Shinobi could feel the soft petal gently tickling his palm between the two intertwined hands. He glanced to their hands but his sight ultimately ended in Aya's eyes, the grip tightening against her cool fingers and causing the pink petal to crush and deform into many smaller pieces. The young mans slightly lighter soul responded with a mimic to the pairs pirate Sensei. "Savvy."

The man and his wife were speechless. The husband was so ashamed that he could not even look any of the shinobi in the eye. Quietly, he stood with his wife and walked her to the front of the cart. If he were a pup, his tail would be nowhere except between his legs. Haish did the same with Tum, except he let the boy ride on his back. Tum turned his head back towards Aya as she spoke to him and gave her a small nod. Without turning himself, Haish also gave a nod. "Thank you," he said with his mono tone voice as he too continued to the front of the cart.
`- Twilight Time -`The trip through the Valley of the End went much smoother throughout the end of the night. Now the shinobi were aware of what they were transporting and were much more profession about protecting the cart and the farmers. Not a single animal even got to the road before the quartet dismembered the attacker. Not many words were exchanged between the Shinobi and the farmers until the reached the end of the Valley and nightfall just hit. Since the moon was full and weather clear, the group continued to journey on the Rice Country back roads throughout the night until they made it to the family's farm which was just a few miles from the Orochi Swamp.
As the sun rose clearly from the earth, the light of day brought with it the nice farm of pigs the family ran. There the Shinobi's were able to rest and clean up after the long journey through the valley and to the farm. Now the group was ready to set out towards the Orochi ruins, but as they did a certain lethal bite began to take its toll...
+10 Ryo to Jonu. The Family pays their respect for getting them safely across the Valley.

The captain deeply inhaled the crisp air of the winter morning through his nose, causing his throat to lightly ache, but refreshing his tired body nonetheless. He hadn't slept all that well, since his mind had been busy working out ways to improve Aya and Kana's abilities so that they would be able to handle themselves if ever faced against a more organized and better equipped batch of enemies. The wild dogs that they had fought in the previous day had been speedy, vicious, and merciless, but they hadn't had a clue about any form of successful teamwork or a degree of respect for their enemies. The strategy of surrounding the cart would have worked well against a band of defenseless travelers, but since the dogs separated themselves, they greatly reduced their chances of actually working together to achieve their goal. Unfortunately, an enemy shinobi squad or even a small group of bandits would understand that they would have needed to detect the level of strength of each individual who was guarding the cart, and then distract and separate the stronger members from the weak, giving them an advantage. If one of the two larger dogs had managed to lure Jonu away from the convoy, the other large dog would have most likely torn Aya and Kana apart; this thought was the driving force behind Jonu's planning spree that forced his alertness throughout the night. Aya and Kana needed to do more than merely sharpen their skills if they hoped to become truly powerful. The captain had eventually decided to do what his mentor had done for him when he needed to acquire a high degree of power in a short amount of time. For the most part, he'd let the pair figure things out on their own, but his idea would at least press a little wind against their sails to get them started. He would have to wait for the right opportunity, though.
As the trio set out from the farmer's land to their final destination, Jonu decided to give his squad most of the money that the farmer had given him. The captain had insisted against receiving any money at all, knowing very well that every Ryo was valuable to a family who made their living off of the land. However, the farmer couldn't be convinced otherwise and would have most likely thrown the money at Jonu if the captain had resisted any further. The squad leader kept only two Ryo for himself and split the rest between the two genin, knowing that they would probably need it more than he would. After a while of walking, the captain felt that he needed to express something that had been on his mind ever since they had asked him to give them a ride from Shimagakure to the mainland.
Theme of the Moment
"You know kiddies, this be a very noble thing that you be doing for Ichi." He smiled as he spoke, remembering how reckless and adventurous he had been in his youth. "An' I can tell that the two of yeh be quite mature for your age, even if others may see different." Jonu, having been walking between the two, nudged Kana's elbow with his own and then lightly ruffled Aya's hair, as if he were a contented father or uncle of the two genin. "Thah being said, I feel the need to lend the pair of yeh some advice that you'll only understand if yeh truly are grown up." He slid his hands into his pockets and looked up into the sky, remembering the people who had changed his life for the better, especially the woman who had turned him into the very man that he was proud and thankful to be. "By thah sounds of it, the jutsu used against the Kage was something beyond what anyone in Shimagakure has ever witnessed. No matter what state Ichi be in if we manage to find him, the two of you should bear in mind what really matters; what Ichi would want you to value." At this point, Jonu was only half smiling, wanting to appear comforting in spite of the fear he had of what state they would find the Kage in if they managed to locate him. Above all else, he wanted Aya and Kana to be able to withstand the sight of the former leader of Shimagakure. He simply wouldn't see the two of them turned cold and hardened at such a young and fresh age. "I believe that he'd want yeh both to always work hard and grow into two shinobi that could be respected by all of Shimagakure. He'd want yeh to do the right thing, even if it mean riskin' everything yeh 'ave. After all, that's exactly what he was doing the last time anyone seen 'im." Then the man stopped in his tracks, falling a little ways behind Aya and Kana, since they didn't expect him to suddenly halt. Because of this, he could more easily look at each of them at the same time. "I know for a fact that he'd already be proud of yeh both, even if yeh both be crazy enough to run around a country searchin' for 'im." After saying all he needed to say and hoping that it would sink in and help to guide the pair of young ninja on their respective paths, he figured that it was time to get back to business. "We must now consider what to do if we happen to encounter that cranky army, and what sort of things we may be dealin' with when we reach the ruins of the Orochi."

Aya could tell that after the discovery of what was in the cart, that there would be silence the rest of the way to the Rice Country. It was a thick air of silence that went the entire way. Before the dreary quiet began, Haish spoke for the first and last time the entire journey. 'Thank you.' Aya's throat was so dry and caught off guard that she merely nodded towards the man instead of saying her chipper 'You're welcome!' Truly, Aya felt that she and Kana hadn't operated to their fullest capabilities. They had not been ready for this attack and went about it jokingly almost. The girl had not taken her opponent seriously at first since it was only a dog, but they sure had shown her.
Kana and Aya had lost a friend on their mission to the Lightning Country; Jin. Before turning to silence and perking her detection skill to their highest, Aya turned towards Kana one last time with that memory in mind. It was the saddest look the girl had given Kana in a long time. They understood the loss of a life during battle and it was something Aya never wanted to experience again. She had struggled hard to protect Tum, but it had almost not been enough. If one of the Jackals had managed to grab hold of Tum like they did Karu, the young boy would've been lost just like Jin. Her blue eyes didn't fill with water since the light blueness that her iris held already made it look as if she were crying...
-Twilight-
As Aya was double checking the straps on her shoes, she stopped what she was doing the moment Jonu mentioned Ichi. When Jonu recognized the pair's maturity, Aya nodded. Jonu seemed to hold more respect for the two than Shinichi did and she more than appreciated it. She smiled brightly as she ruffled her hair, which was something that Ichi did occasionally. The girl was silent as Jonu spoke to them. The little Tenmoki girl would've never expected to hear such heart filled words from a seaman. She had been to used to Akuyiro's presence to really take a man with an oceanic accent seriously. However, the words that Jonu spoke were really sinking into Aya's mind as he spoke. Ichi wants them to walk the right path just as he took steps to the very end of his path. "Hai..." Aya whispered lightly as Jonu finished. It was about time Aya start acting her maturity level, but she refused to lose her brightness. Ichi kept a certain aura of happiness around him and that's what Aya wanted to carry. She truly looked up to Ichi as if he were a father and even called him it when she was younger.
A smile had lit up Aya's soft pink cherry petal lips as Jonu started onto business. "Right! I heard that the Rice Country was protecting the borders, but I haven't heard of any activity inside the country, sensei. When we left the Orochi Village, we went out with a pretty big bang, so we can expect a lot of rubble, which would be really hard to find Ichi in..." Aya trailed off as she thought of trying to find a statue of Ichi mixed in with a bunch of rubble. The area that Aya had been in had collapsed fully, so there was no telling what the other areas had looked like. "The first squad was headed to the main tree and I think that is where Ichi was seen last before everyone else had to pull out," the girl explained to Jonu. Aya had certainly done all her homework before heading out on this mission. The records of all battles and activity in the mainland were all stored in the Kage's office. Aya's mother Yuki had spent many nights in there and Aya had as well when she was helping Ichi sort the scrolls and filing scrolls herself.

Brushing the auburn strands of hair that eclipsed the young mans eyes to the side with the now untarnished fingers he had previously soaked in his own blood the Genin focused on the events that had unfolded the day before. The blinding sunlight that peeked over the horizon provoked the young mans eyelids, petty rays of light slithering through the fissures in the organs that were his pupil's. Kana let out a small sigh of relief, thanking a higher being that the group no longer had to escort the farmers. His fingers whipped the crust from his eyes as the group walked, remembering the quite awkward dream he had during his sleep. It had something to do with an elephant named Oscar who was going to learn the craft of sewing. The young man hand no clue if this was a sign or just a crazy and funny dream that would kill some time on the long road. Fingering the compartments on the belt around his waist the Shinobi found the four Ryo that the farmers had paid for the convoy services. Kana thought for a moment of what he would spend the currency on but his mind was blank, only being able to focus on the horizon where the Orochi Ruins lied. The young man had personally never been there but was quite anxious to be going. Sadness was the only feeling he could express at the moment, recalling the sad eyes of Aya that he experienced the other night. Her deep pools of endless bliss were dried from forlorn thoughts of death and despair, making her usual bright and angel like complexion fade into a dismal state which the young man had only seen her in on very few occasions. From what Kana could decipher the sadness ensued into her actions, causing her to be a bit more quiet than usual on the path taken to the farm. The girls speechless spell was understandable though, with all of the dark and twisted actions that tested her young beautiful blue eyes. The Shinobi wondered what she was thinking of though, he couldn't help but ponder what terrible experience she was reliving in her mind.
He brought his fingers to his chin as he always did in deep thought, stroking his cheek bone as the boy reflected. Jonu began to speak about the duo's noble cause of saving Ichi, and the only thing that the young man could think of was when Ichi had risked his own life to save Aya and himself from the bloodthirsty Kraken. Now this instance of unselfish devotion was the pure definition of noble. The middle aged man who Kana once knew as the greatest mentor that ever graced the tiny island with his presence, that man was noble. Auburn locks of hair fell to his eyes as the older man brushed his elbow against Kana. His fingers lifted the auburn hair from his eyes so he could look over to his partner Aya. Advice? Kana needed no advice from a pruned pirate that for some reason thought that all of a sudden since he was in a leadership position that he had the authority to give advice to the teenager. Nevertheless Kana listened to what the man had to say about Ichi, and how he would want them to value. The Shinobi squinted his eyes, realizing that the experienced soul had a point. Ichi would want the pair to become respected by the Shimagakure community, and strengthen their skills to become nothing but the best. His auburn hair twisted about as Kana turned to look up into the pirates face, who had stopped behind Aya and Kana. Proud? Ichi would be proud of them?
Deep breaths quickly circulated through the small chest, the maroon shirt looking like an inflating and deflating balloon. Ichi had said these words to the pair a few times himself, and it seemed as though he could hear his charismatic soft voice speaking from far off ahead in the distance. "Mhm. . ." Kana agreed with a nod of his mop like head, the auburn haired young mans focus being on the dirt he stood upon. On to business was the next subject, and Aya divulged objectives and went into the details she had recovered back at the village. The village seemed so far away still, and it made him think of his brother Kazuma. The bond between the two of them couldn't be separated even by the distance of the ocean. Instinctively he could feel the explosion within him, and it made him ask himself. 'What the hell is that crazy kid into now...' A pain sliced through his cranium like a butcher knife, continuing down his skinny spine. Wincing for a moment Kana pressed his palm against his forehead for a moment, covering the young boys flushed face. He coughed lightly and shook it off thinking it was merely a headache.

As Aya stood ready for Jonu to convey what they should do next after she gave him all the information she had, the girl caught Kana wincing out of the corner of her eye. Immediately, her head snapped to him and her entire body turned towards the Kun Kumo who she had been with since her days in the academy. "Kana-kun," Aya spoke tenderly as the young man pressed the palm of his hand up against his forehead. The girl would not look over the small cough and the tiny shake that he did. Standing fully in front of him with a placid, yet serious face, Aya put the back of her own hand to his forehead. She took into account the flushed look he had on his face. Being with the shinobi almost day in and day out of her kunoichi career, Aya knew that Kana's face flushed red for two reasons; one he was full of emotion; embarrassment mostly or two he was angry. As Aya kept the back of her hand to his head, she felt an immense heat emit from his skin. She then moved the front of her wrist to his forehead as well, to see if the heat was constant, which it was.
"Let me see your wound," Aya said to Kana as she moved the clothes in order to view the bite that had been dealt to the boy. As she examined the bite, which she had neglected to heal since Kana had said he was fine, she found that it really hadn't started healing. The blood had dried, but the area where the skin met the scab showed no signs of healing. The girl new wounds well since she always studied under her mother and helped dress wounds since she was a girl. It would surprise some people just how fast the healing process was. "I think those animals were carrying rabies," Aya stated as she let the cloth drape back over Kana's wound. The beasts they had been fighting had been foaming at the mouth profusely, which was a sign that an animal was infected with rabies. Putting a tender hand on Kana's shoulder, Aya directed him over to a bench on the porch of the famer's house. "Sit here, Kana-kun," the girl said with a bitter-sweetness. A bitterness that hit herself for not healing him with her technique immediately after being bitten and a sweetness that meant she was sorry for his condition and that it would be better soon.
With her hand sliding off the young man's shoulder, Aya turned to Jonu as she walked back to where they had been talking. "Sensei, can you get him some cool water? Its going to be hard for him to swallow, but he really needs to be hydrated. I'll go search for the herbs I need for the antidote. They're very common, so I'm sure I'll have no trouble finding them even in this weather," Aya explained to her sensei as she swallowed hard. The young girl was trying to act very professional about this like her mother had always taught her too, but she was worried and outlined with concern about Kana who she cared for dearly. With a nod of her head, Aya said silently that she'd be back in a moment's time and with that, she went sprinting off down the road towards the trees that weer off in the distance.

With every large step she took in her run, Aya kicked up dirt behind her as she pushed as hard as she could off the ground to reach the small forest nearby. Her chest was burning due to the fact that she was running so hard. It had been awhile since she sprinted like this when she wasn't in battle. The adrenaline did numb the pain of over-exerting your body quite a bit, for each time she pressed off with her foot, she felt a sting run up her calf muscle. Taking turns between breathing through her mouth and nose, Aya had a hard time keeping her throat moist as she ran. Once she was in the area she desire, the girl's eyes darted out to find that things that she needed.
"There," Aya said softly to herself as she found the first plant. It seemed as if she had found it in record time. Taking out her kunai to cut the plant's leaves off, she did it very precisely and very quickly. An alchemist always had to use a blade to harvest their items, otherwise they would wilt before reaching the lab. Gently placing the herb within her pack on her hip, Aya continued through the forest, searching for the next item she needed.
"The moss," Aya said to herself as she looked around fallen trees to find the bright green moss with the tiny clover-like plants sprouting from it. There were so many fallen trees in this area and so many different types of mosses, that Aya was having a hard time finding it. The first herb had been so easy and now this was proving difficult. The swampy terrain did not aid Aya in her search, but luckily enough she found it. With her bare hands, Aya ripped off a chunk of rotting wood with the moss in hand. It was the easiest item to harvest and the bug that she needed next should be close by the moss, which made her harvest task even easier.

Haish stood nearby as the trio spoke to one another. He could tell that Jonu was telling them something rather sentimental by the choice of words and what was going on. As they spoke about the Orochi ruins and the Rice Army, the boy turned ill. The girl left and just the boy, Kana, and Jonu remained. Haish stepped forward from his casual spot to speak to Jonu about their pressing destination. "The Orochi Village," Haish said as if he were reminiscing about it. "That place was hidden deep within the treacherous swamps here in the Rice Country. When I was a soldier, I lost many good mean to those swamps trying to find it," Haish told Jonu this as he stared off towards the forest the girl had disappeared into. "Not in my service did I once find it, but I heard its found now due to explosions that were set off," Haish explained, now knowing where those explosions had come from.
"A small army has taken post there for the time being. The official army is coming through in seven days to regroup and investigate while rounding up any other Orochi they can find," Haish said before turning and walking up the porch. "Those armies are corrupt. I've shamed myself for serving under them," the man added, letting the squad leader know that there would be no remorse in this old man's heart and that whatever they did to those soldiers would be more than deserving.
