Z'Kort's back slammed into the wall and he sat there, not harmed too much. Mostly he was recovering from the shock and anger, along with the man's creepy eyes. Sulking, he peeked through black eyelashes, watching Hybrid carefully. Odd for one with such a short temper, Kort stayed silent-sufficiently put to shutting up. Without another word, he watched and listened, still sitting against the wall. After a while, he pulled up a leg and wrapped his arms around it.
When they finished talking, apparently sharing racial and species information, he murmured, "I accept." Then stretched, as if the whole power incident with Hybrid had not happened.
Like a feline, the man got up in one fluid movement, walked back toward the table, and picked up his fallen chair. Gently setting it back down, his black hair falling forward, he simply sat in it.
Kort kept his mind neutrally blank, deciding it was best to take his anger out on another crap car later. Branches were so very therapeutic(sp? ).
When was the last time such an incident had even happened to him? The elf remembered, his memory bringing a bitter taste to his lips. It had been when he was thrown out of his elvan kingdom. The land that fathered him and the land that bred him. He hadn't thought about that in a long while, having it brought up added another tendril of rage into him.
Alotta branches was the thought that floated across his mind. Friggin' ARMY of 'em.
As the topic seemed to be straying from the man's plan or whatever, Kort slid into it. "So what's the plan?" Brittle control cracked against his voice, he knew better than to pit himself against this person. Probably not even a human being. Most likely not a human being. Actually, no, NOT human at all. The elf was far too vain to sacrifice his life on something like a bar fight.
A bar fight on angel dust, he mused, a mental smile forming in his thoughts. Vivid green eyes were directed pointedly down, waiting for a response. No doubt they should be off and after the goal anyway, Hybrid shouldn't chuck him against the wall for that. The table was rough, wood possibly? Kort was never very in tune with the natural forces around him. A shame to the elvan world. Not that he cared. Metal hunks of speed were more suited to him. Thank mother nature for cars. An ironic thought.

Tilting her head to one side with a confused look on her face, Zaniah said in a questioning voice..
"Mermaid?" Wondering what in the world a mermaid could be. Then shaking her head, knowing she would find out sooner or later she replied..
"Yes I am a drow, and I quite like it here on the surface, when the sun is hidden of course.." The woman added with a grin before leaning back in her chair, also not worried about the elf. They were fairly resiliant, he would be fine. Running a hand through her snowy white hair, she ruffled it a bit, blinking about with her seemingly pupil-less eyes she watched the elf finally get back up and sit down at the table with the rest of them.

Arkus nodded. "So well all accept." He said, cracking his knuckles once again, the loud noise of the air bubbles within his joints filling the air. "So where, and when, do we start?" Arkus was eager to get this started. Sneaking wasn't for him. He would sooner bash down the door with something heavy and blunt, attack any shady looking fellows, and ask questions later. But of course, he'd most likely find himself in a law firm building.
Arkus never really though things through. He was brash at most times, and impatient at the best of times. However, he had the strength, and of course, the constitution, to be able to sustain most consequences for his haste.
But of course, the worst of traps and ambushes would hit Arkus the hardest, and it would most likely be up to the group to keep him out of trouble...
"Like I said. When do we start? And where? I'm hoping for an honorable fight..." His brown eyes, set into his bullish head, narrowed, nearly blending in with the brown skin that held in his viscera and such. His hooves clicked slightly against the floor as he stood, cracking his knuckles once again, releasing the air from the sacs between his joints.

Hybrid rose, not quickly, nor slowly. He had done so as they were talking. He heard Z'Kort easily and was waiting for someone else to speak of it since the others were still speaking amonst themselves. When Arkus spoke he nodded slowly. He didn't seem at all mad at Z'Kort anymore, nor seem to notice that he had ever been out of his seat.
"We will be starting tommorow...Meet out at the park...it is about 2 blocks away from Draco Industries main building. Easy access. I've done a bit of...snooping as it were but it doesn't matter now. The real test will be seen when we leave here. I met a woman on the way in and if I know her well enough she's sending Shadow Hunters to take care of us...they'll probably get here about the same time you will leave. Don't kill them. Fortunately you won't have to encounter them as when you leave through that mirror you'll see instead of the hall is a grassy area with cars and the main parking lot nearby...
"I've done that specially for you. I want everyone to meet at the park tommorow though. Dress dark, and try to be as inconspicuous as possible. Such as an speedster may not speed over 60 in a normal through traffic. I don't want any possibility of losses. We will infiltrate in a variety of ways using each persons forte to accomplish everything...
"Last thing I should say before I give you question again is that if you betray me...your death will be horrendous. The last person I 'killed' died on his own breaking point. I more or less took him to his limits for about half a month, breaking him daily. Snapping bones, breaking jaws and setting them at wierd angles for them to grow back in. He was horribly deformed by the end, his legs, arms, and chest all wrong...and he finally died. Not because I killed him...but because he lost his will to live.
"You see I don't have much tolerance for two things...traitors, and vanity. I torture those who betray me. Don't think I won't find you. You've already seen a small portion of my power. More shall be revealed eventually...but most of it won't be. Understand that now. Our target is Franz Draco, as well as demolishing the building. I don't want any of the employees killed. Even Carlton Ashe and Dr. Astrid Kolgrim are to live.
"Take it as it isn't their time to die. And unless we must, do not kill Shadow Hunters. They are simply trying to make a living remember. They are still alive and breathing. Franz dies. None of the scientists or anyone else, unless they are about to kill you, or severly wound you...everything understood? Good. Now...any questions. At this point I'll answer just about anything knowing that you have accepted this proposition..."
His golden eyes looked about them as he stood behind his chair. His black hands resting upon it. His weapons not even gleaming in the dull light. They were wrapped to prevent shining. THe blades, black, just like the guns. He wasn't a normal thug. He measured, and calculated everything he did, wore, and put near him. The table itself, if a person noticed, was designed oddly. It was set so that if one of the five tried to kill him they would be forced to either nearly leap over the table or move around it.
That would give him plenty of time to draw and kill. It was the same at the other end. Making it almost like a hourglass. The room itself was set so that all of them were farther from the wall then he was. They would have almost the same chance if the table wasn't there to reach the other side at the same time. It was a strategy room, with all the advantages to him. They were a bit lower than him from the ground slope. Oh so slight, but just enough none the less. His chair a bit taller than the others...he knew his way around speaking to people. His charisma and appeal off the charts with greatness. He could probably charm the tail from a rattler, or the skin from a deer...maybe even the mind of a person...

Nodding she ticked off the things in her mind.. 'Park, tomorrow, inconspicuous, don't kill anyone unless nessisary.. no problem..'
If there was anything that the shadow hunter prided herself on, it was remaining inconspicuous.
"Is that all then? Or maybe we have some questions from the suddenly silent elf.. hmm?" Smirking at the fair-skinned figure across the table from her, she stood up as if getting ready to depart. She wanted to get home and have a chance to make sure no-one but Cale got in while she slept the day away. If there was one thing that being in this world warrented, it was the ability to set wards without them being noticed without taking great care and having known that she would set them. Those were really the only types of magics she was any good at, having had to make up the lack of magical talent with her ability with a blade.

"Mmm, friends," Kort murmured at the mention of enemy shadow hunters. With a slight yawn, as if he were tired, the elf got up and stretched again sending an "IGNORE" signal to the drow. He moved casually towards the door and opened it, stepping out into the corridor. A slight wave and he disappeared into the darkness, waiting a moment and listening in the mirror before stepping out.
The grass was lush and slightly damp, grass always was. It was a law of nature that green grass would always be wet. Many humans found that out the hard way. Z'Kort was born with it. The same that he was born with the ability to push things faster than they should go. He smiled, surveying the parking lot before him. Cars, cars, cars. So absolutely lovely.
The man took a step forward, adding a slight hop-skip into his step. As he continued to walk forth, more bounce was in his step. Green eyes were carefully picking out a vehicle to jack. A pretty little silver car caught his eye. "Ah, such a darling," he cooed as he sashayed up to it. Ignoring the fact that the others must be coming up behind him, too, Kort proceeded to lay a gentle hand on it.
A quick glance in and he saw the alarm was conveniently off. Suspicious, he thought, backing off a little. Another look and he knew that it was a Porsche. What idiot would leave an alarm off a Porsche? One last peek set off his mental alarm, it wasn't locked either. A couple steps backwards and he was at a minivan. Although Kort detested the things, he knew this was a better choice.
Clever fingers charmed the door to unlock itself and he quickly slid into the soft seat. The smell of apple juice and graham crackers drifted up to him. With a smile he said, "I am super mommy." The speed demon ducked down, did some finagling with the wires at the bottom and soon the car started. He sat back up, put the car in gear and reversed.
Hopefully the other shadow hunters wouldn't come after him in a mommy van.

((Why do I have so many crap posts? gonk ))
Na'fiel left without a word. Opening the door, she found that it was like Hybrid said. She was standing in a grassy field and the parking lot was nearby. Quickly walking over to her car (a slightly beat up, red, Hyundai Pony) she got in and carefully pulled out onto the road.
Driving down the road, she made her way to her small apartment. On the way, many things were zipping through her mind. What did I just get myself into? was the main one... It was a tad hot in the car, so she opened the window and felt the cooling breeze. The radio was on a nice quiet station and Na'fiel was almost regretful that she had to leave the comforts of her car to get into her apartment.
It was a large brick building which had a neon sign on the front labelling: VA N Y. The C's had burnt out at some point and no one had ever bothered to replace them. Using her key, she opened the door and walked up three flights of stairs before reaching her apartment room. Once there, she collapsed on the sofa.
The room was simply furnished. Being a lifeguard didn't really bring in much money. There was a sofa, a small television, a small coffee table and a plant in the corner. Down the hall, a small kitchen, bedroom and bathroom made up the rest of her home. There were some pictures on the walls, but few. Na'fiel didn't have a camera.
Flicking on the TV, she wondered why she had even accepted. A smile made it's way onto her lips. Well, it was another adventure, wasn't it?

Deciding to follow suit, she gave a motion with her hands, a very casual two fingered salute. "Twas a pleasure meeting you all" The drow said before walking out onto the grass. She looked around for her bike, white hair rippling slightly as she took a few moments to spot it as she walked towards it as if she had a bit to drink and it was starting to affect her.
Realising she had left her helmet in the bar, she cursed slightly, but then shrugged it off. Maybe she could come by sometime later this week to get it, she had a spare at home anyways.
Revving that wonderful machine to life she sped off down the streets of New york, reaching her apartment building as it was beginning to grow light out.
"Perfect timing.." Zaniah muttered, not realising how long they had spent in that room. Feeling slightly giddy anyways from the drink she did manage to down half of, she parked her bike in the underground and made her way up the spiraling steps of the ritzy building.

Arkus too, followed everyone out, once again making sure he didn't smash into anything on his way out. His gaze shifted towards Hybrid as he walked out, but went back to in front of him as he exited.
Arriving in the same field as all the others, Arkus walked into the parking lot and quickly got his bearings. There was no car that he could really drive, and besides, walking was healthier for him.
So, he got to walking towards his apartment in the slums, noting what Hybrid had said. Park, tomorrow, wear dark (already taken care of), and don't kill anyone unless necessary. Simple, really. Even a chimp could do it, though he doubted a chimp had the strength to smash down some doors...
But here was the problem. What use was strength when stealth was necessary? It was all very... obscure. Arkus figured his job would be to charge ahead of the group, take as many as he could down or simply by surprise, smash down doors, kill some people, bash some others around, and get out. Apparently, it wasn't that simple.
Arkus wondered how he would excel at climbing... His hooves were not meant for such. Granted, he could jump higher than the next man simply due to muscle mass, but he could not climb well, he was sure of that. Sometimes he even had trouble with stairs! Elevators... he was not sure if they would hold him or not, as he had never trusted the moving boxes.
This would prove a challenge, but it as almost certain that these humans were lazy folk, and preferred few steps to many, standing still to walking, driving to biking, and so forth. Hell, even the elf was proof of that...
Entering the proverbial bad part of town, Arkus donned his silver spiked knuckles, just in case of a bit of a tussle came his way. Luckily, those that recognized him strayed away from him, and those that did not, cowered away.
He opened the door to his apartment complex, stepping into his room carefully, still wishing he could get the door remodled so that he wouldn't have to duck, slide, and suck his chest in to get through. But after he popped through he decided that sleep would be a good thing, and laid down on the only thing he could make a bed from; many mattresses, most of which had broken springs in the corners, which were, of course, pointed to the corners where Arkus did not lay.
He fell asleep swiftly, as he always did, and made sure to remember...
Park, tomorrow, dress dark, don't attract attention, don't kill anyone not trying to kill/harm you... He would remember.

Hybrid sat watching. They left and did so without arguement. Good thing as well...he needed to go make sure to take care of a few 'details.' He breathes out slowly before rising and walking toward the door. His hand lifted and then fell, with only a second pause. The room disappeared from existence. He walked through the door as the room dematerialized and headed toward the door. The hallway disappearing behind him slowly.
No one in the mirror hallway...good thing. He hopped through and as the mirror rippled it became deadfully still once again. There was no pocket dimension. For that split second his large power would flash in the minds of those would knew what to look for...psychics, divine beings, or other such things.
Humans wouldn't know about it most likely, but he walked forward down the hallway. His steps leading him through the door. He wouldn't leave yet, instead he went to the bar and tapped on it a couple of times. Dameon turned and walked over to take care of the customer. He knew who it was immediately from looking at the figure.
"Can I help you sir?"
Hybrid's eyes flash for a moment under the hood. "My shadows are shifting and the rest could fade...get me a water could you?"
Dameon smiled and nodded slowly as he filled up a glass for him speaking back in that odd wording. "They move around and disappear during the day much of the time. Make sure your shadows are careful about that...here's your water."
Hybrid nods in thanks taking the glass away to a table in clear view of the door. If Shadow Hunters burst in he would be painfully visible. Whether or now they knew who to look for was a different matter. The sun was rising meaning that that bar would be closing soon...No one except him and Dameon were there.
Once he would eventually finish his water he would leave...after dealing with the Hunters of course...they needed to be taught, but not in killing. That wasn't normally his way. He would hurt them severely though...that was his way...

The drow got into her apartment quickly, closing the door behind her she put her helmet down on the dining room table and looked towards the living room to fine Cale sitting on the couch watching cartoons. He was such a child..
"Where have you been all night.." He asked suspiciously, brilliantly blue eyes turning from the colorful screen to regard her. His thick brown hair and strong jaw-line made him by what Zani learned for humans to call handsome. He wasn't the most imposing figure either, for those that did not know him. The theif lord was actually a very calm, and rational person. But that did not stop him from teaching his underlings a lesson a time or two. Standing only a few inches taller than the drow, he could come very close to matching her in an unarmed fight.
He also knew that she did not go out without a reason. Tossing a letter towards her he said, "I found this in the kitchen, mind telling me what this is about?? What are these shadows??" His biggest fault and blessing was that he had to know everything. Though his voice remained calm it had a questioning tone in it.
Throwing her head back and laughing, the Shadow hunter said in an amused and mysterious voice, "And what is that to you Cale? My business dosn't concern you and you know that perfectly well."
Breaking out in a playful grin, clearly in a good mood, Cale replied in his deep voice..
"I do indeed, Zanikins.." Chuckling at his pet name for her, and even more so when the drow cringed at the use of her name in such a way. But then letting out a chuckle while she shook her head, she walked up to him and ruffled his hair before vaulting over the couch to sit beside him and watch the animated, disproportional characters flit about the glass screen in front of her.
As Cale reached over to ruffle Zaniah's own hair, her hand shot out to stop him quickly, twisiting his arm just enough for it to hurt before letting go with a smile and saying, after hearing a six-year old tell off her brother in a subway station for trying to take her barbie..
"No touchie.."

Deep within the night's abyss, a low rumbling could be heard. It was more subtle than the the traces of an earthquake, yet more intense than the typical sound of a horse's hooves along the New York streets. It was well into the night, and the roads themselves were barren of all life; a ghost city lit with the illuminating lights of specters and neon mirages. The rumbling continued, a guttural cry within the Earth, and sirens seemed to shriek at every end of the industrial block-small crevices within the cement cut in miniscule holes from the tremors of the enormous pressure at the other end of the road.
Azriel leaned casually against an enormous oak tree, her petite, feminine frame barely taking up half of the massive bark behind her. A slender hand going to push her burgundy curls from her eyes, she watched the commencing scene with an anxious mien that caused her fingertips to visibly tremble.
"Yes...everything will go wonderfully. Impeccably, thanks to Carlton..."
Cocking her head, Azriel leaned forward beneath the hindering, criss-crossing shadows of the branches above and into the blaring light of the black limousines that passed on their swift tires. The tires, lined in layers of spiked steel had been causing the rumbling and the cement to break beneath their rapid, mechanical limbs. Inside the two limousines were eight Shadow Hunters each, equipped with their various weaponry that had been welded expertly with primitive magic, and as they travelled through the gravel-strewn roads that they so carelessly carved along New York, heading for the Shadow Bar, she couldn't help but smile in unconstricted pride.
"Go fast, my dear little soldiers...on the hunt for another worthless heretic hide. But be wary,"
Pursing her lips, the Tiefling crossed her arms over her bosom as she took a breath, thinking angrily of the man that had penetrated her carefully built mental walls within the Bar,
"Stay concealed until you can sense the Shadowkind nearby...but don't kill them when they come out to play, probably by tomorrow morning. I like intimidation...a little fun won't hurt anyone-practice makes perfect, of course."
The woman wasn't foolish enough to have them target the wretched, powerful man of course. Yet she knew that those little piglets of his that had been within the bar were mortal, and perhaps shedding some blood without death would make her intent clear to him...and a little bloodshed was a wonderful way to start off a war.
As the Shadow Hunters sped off loudly towards the Bar to go into hiding nearby (with her expertise in magic to conceal them, of course), Azriel laughed softly, realizing how much of a splendid act of war she was in the process of unfurling.
Beside her, a male emerged from behind the oak tree, appearing extremely skeptical. He stood at a staggering 6'2'', wearing a black top that stretched tightly around his muscular body, outlining every detail of his well-built frame. The man's hazel locks were long enough to dip down across his left eye, which shone a deep, sapphire blue through his hair.
"I doubt we need that many of my Shadow Hunters for the job, Azriel."
She smirked slightly, gazing up at Carlton's exasperated appearance,
"Never underestimate our foes, Carlton. You never know how strong they may be..."
A snort from the man beside her, as he watched the limousines disappear out of sight into the horizon,
"Whoever that a** is that's been meddling around with Draco Industries and their work...they'd better get rid of him first, or I'll be taking the job of doing it, and gladly."
Now Azriel was the one with the look of doubtful skepticism about her soft features,
"I wish we could, Carlton...I wish we could..."

Hybrid was reclining in a chair, within plain view of the door. He then twirled out his .45, unscrewed the silencer and placed the weapon in his lap, the silencer went to a pouch. The two revolvers spun out and rested crossed on his chest. His golden eyes watching the door. He spoke out slowly. "You see them Dameon? At least she's trying to hide them. She's weak though and doesn't know it. She also doesn't know when the bar closes I suppose."
Dameon finished wiping the bar and flicked his hand unlocking the front door for the men who would soon be there. He was far stronger in his psychic powers than the other two, but little else. He sat down under the bar. "I didn't see anything Hybrid...I was out, know that now."
Hybrid smirked slightly his eyes not seeing just inside the bar. Instead he was watching outside. Although he didn't know how many there were he could tell there were two long cars of them. Limo's most likely, meaning there could be up to 10 in each uncomfortably, and beyond that two in the front seat. The large sploches of missing and moving area told him exactly where they were and how far away they were. He would kill them easily. It wouldn't be hard for him. He told the others not to do this, for the main reason that although they could...they didn't need to involve themselves with his battle more than he asked. He didn't want them too...and so he would wait.

Like massive mechanical sentinels, the limousines slowed to a stop before the Shadow Bar. Their wheels crunched into the ground, boring tiny holes that appeared like freckles upon the body of asphalt. A pause, and a flurry of murmuring came within both cars, swift and soft like liquid silk within the air.
In a quick moment, one of the large limousines began to fade into the air, like a mist that blended perfectly with the starless sky. The mist hung for what seemed like an eternity frozen in time, before dissipating into nothingness. The remaining limousine's doors opened abruptly, quickly, making razor-sharp cutting noises followed by the shuffling of eight pairs of feet.
The Shadow Hunters were humongous. In fact, humongous would be an understatement to describe the almost monstrous build of their bodies. They were not tall, rather the average size of an adult man, yet every ligament of their bodies was strewn with an obscence muscularity that they appeared as if they were about to pop at any moment. Every one of them was as pale as snow, almost albino in their unnatural coloring. Covered in scarlet cloaks that contrasted ghoulishly with their flesh and their beady eyes behind the black masks they wore, they appeared to be a cult about to make a sacrifice to some estranged deity.
It appeared as if demons, deformed and sent from hell, were about to visit the Shadow Bar tonight. And as they flung the door opened, their feet thudding against the floor in an army-like unison, it appeared that these strange creatures did not have to exert any effort in intimidation.

Hybrid watched this all and then spoke as the eight large men thudded their way in right before him. They all would give questioning looks and motions wondering who this was. "Hello and welcome to your last day on earth boys." His weapons flashed out from his chest and both spun once in the air before two bullets were let loose from their chambers. Those both found their ways into the chests of the front two. Within seconds they exploded...
Hybrid on the other hand had pushed off of the table sending it up onto its' side as he rolled back onto the ground. An array of whizzs and bullets filled the air. Hybrid clicked the two hammers and leapt out to the side, his weapons flinging themselves up as the monstrous men still aimed at the table. The body of Hybrid seemed like a flitting shadow that only one noticed. As he turned his head he found a bullet less than an inch away from entering his nose, and then nothing. His head soon exploded after that sight.
Hybrid rolled behind another table hitting it down as he landed. The bullets followed after him and would find the table, but not him. He was down to his last two bullets in the revolvers. He looked at the .45 in a pouch in his lap still. He stares at it for a while and then puts it away in its' original holder. It was time to scare these Shadow Hunters shitless. He had killed 4 of them and would kill another 2-3 depending how he felt. The other would run...he would make sure of that...
Hybrid pulled the two blades as he kicked the table out. It would fly towards them and hit one, though he would simply throw it off to the side. He leapt forward and cut out in weaving movements. The bullets from his enemy's flew, but never touched him. Instead they littered about the bar as that man leapt up and flipped over the two in front. He landed turned and dismembered those two. Hybrid stood up and turned, his golden eyes staring at the other Shadow Hunter as he was about to fire at Hybrid.
His lips uttered words that seemed to echo and resonate in his ears. He couldn't move from his place and could only stare. "Leave...now. I spare you to go back and tell them what Hybrid has done. Tell Azriel that she'll never find me if I don't want her too. Tell her how no one was here and that one man defeated 7 of you and could have beaten more. Tell her that...Now go!" His foot lashed out as the man stared taking it all in. He didn't see the kick until it hit him. He flew through the window and landed by the limo.
That Shadow Hunter scrabbled and got in the car telling the man to drive. And so they would drive off. Hybrid would pay Dameon off sufficiently and everything would be 'better' as it were. Hybrid left as the sun rose to go to the park. He would wait under the bridge watching for the others. They wouldn't see him or notice him because he didn't want them to do so...
