Nometal came dashing to help those fighting this thing when he saw Nino and someone else.
Is that the one that kidnapped Nino? Or is he the king Leander?

The Chimera, down to two heads with Melethia freed by Brammimond, roared as Zelos' attack struck it-- but it was not a scream of pain. It was roaring with wicked, terrible laughter. The rapier pressed against the scales and failed to break through them, and the snakes... the snakes had risen up and were absorbing the bolt's power, drawing it down into her claws! She began to whip them around as she lifted off again, her claws talons tossing away those attacking them as she rose into the air, channeling the power she had taken from Zelos' attack into her claws, preparing to fire a demonic surge that could wipe out the entire clearing, laughing maniacally as the power charged in her claws, whipping them around to begin to form the sphere of energy...

The cloaked figure laughed until he felt a presence somewhere behind him, and he turned, cursing aloud at the sight of the Ice Sage! "No! What is he doing here!? He'll ruin everything!" The figure snarled, turning back. He could not interfere with the battle... so close! He had been so close! They hadn't stood a chance against this one!

The cloaked figure disappeared instantly, leaving the battlefield. He had work to do, to make up for lost time. The Ice King would pay for this insolence.

The beast seemed to float for a moment, stunned in the air, and then it seemed to shatter, dropping to the ground as a score of dead monsters of various kinds-- all those that had been drawn into its body. All dead, cold as ice, neatly sliced into pieces. The magic it had been charging dissipated with a harmless crackle, and all fell silent in the bloody field.

Amelia's eyes widened again as Rei's attack didn't damage it, but went so far as to power it up. No! This is bad...! Amelia let out a panicked noise and started to run, but before her feet so much as moved, she heard a vaguely familiar voice behind her.

"Huh?" Amelia whirled around, stumbling, and watched with shock as a pale-skinned man wearing blue released a powerful blast of ice magic, slashing through the chimera in one fell swoop. Amelia's eyes widened. That...

Amelia again turned as Nino spoke. She smiled wide, relief on her face. "Nino! You're all right!" she half-shouted. She looked at Nino, then at the man, then back at Nino. "How did you two get here?" she asked, including Leander to be polite. She doesn't seem antagonistic towards him, at least, she thought, panting.

An aftershock of the icy blast shoved Zelos back a bit, making him lose his balance. All right, looks like I oughta let the little tyke have control now...

-poof thing?-

Rei's eyes widened at the sight of Nino.
"Nino! Are you okay? I heard that you got taken again! Was it this guy? But he helped us! So why'd he take you? How've ya been?" The stream of questions continued, since Rei had not seen Nino in a good while, as well as the fact that he just got control of his body again.
"He's staying with us? So are we going back to the castle now?"

Bramimond quickly ran over to the fallen Victoria, Mend staff in hand. He used it's magic, and then stood in front of her, facing the new arrival, trying to protect her fallen form with his body.

He did not let his guard down, except he exchanged his Gespenst tome for his Ereshkigal tome. This tome may be tainted, but if it had to be used, I can think of no better use than saving innocent lives, Bramimond thought, and with a swift hand movement, the tome sprung open in his hands, and he held his palm over the pages, preparing to unleash it's dark, corrupting powers.

"You kidnapped our leader. Why are you here? Your explanation better be good, because I warn you, I do not miss."

Leander coughed quietly into his hand and waved his staff once. The instant he did... the clouds parted. Warm sunlight fell upon the faces of the tired fighters down below, and Leander's icy-pale body positively sparkled. He was a sight to behold, standing among the remains of the destroyed Chimera in his royal finery, a book possessed of such arcane power that no tome ever created could rival it under one arm, his other hand wrapped around his icy-white staff through which he channeled his magic.

"Greetings," he said at last, forcing a smile. "I... Call me Leander, please... I hope I didn't arrive too late." He frowned as he and Nino were both suddenly swarmed with questions, and he held up a hand. "Please... let us go somewhere warm. You must all be freezing... then, I will be happy to answer your questions."

He eyed Brammimond's tome and sighed. "Oh, put that away. I'm not going to hurt anyone here, and I sincerely doubt you could use it before I killed you if I was."
