The RealID act passed the senate with no votes against.

Naturally, this means that we are all obligated to vote against these politicians whenever they run for any position.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the RealID act in the Senate version tacked onto a military spending bill? I thought I remembered reading that somewhere. While that doesn't invalidate there actions, it certainly makes it a bit more believable.

Yes, it was. This is a reason to support the "Read the Bill Act" that I read about in LP News. If passed, all bills that Congress passes from then on would have to be read entirely by every member of Congress. And if we cant get it passed on it's own, we can always tack it onto a popular bill and sneak it into law. xd Then we tell them that if they had read the bill then, as they would be required to do now, they would have known about it being attached. xd

My theory is that if I'm driving COMPLETLY correct, (Speed limit, staying in lanes, seatbelt on, radio tuned down, ect..) the only thing they could possibly pull me over for is not having a license ON me.

IIRC, you have 24 hours to present your license after being stopped.

Keep tabs on that, tho... Somebody is going to find the security features, or the list is going to get leaked. Either way, we will soon know every step they took.

I support the Read the Bill proposal.
I propose renaming it to the "Fighting Underhandedness By Actually Reading" act, or the FUBAR act.

Oh that would be hilarious irony. And Tanasha, I love your acronym for it as well, despite my belief that often more time is spent crafting some of the bills' cutesy acronyms than is put on the actual content. In this case though, the acronym is just too good to pass up.

Well, while we're on this subject, I have to say I've often wondered why the LP doesn't do this more often. It IS a fairly easy way to get things passed into law without much review, so why aren't more Libertarian laws passed this way? Every time I wonder this, I come to the conclusion that the LP really IS the Party of Principal, and won't resort to the same dirty tactics that the Republicrats use. This means they probably won't try to get the FUBAR act passed in this fasion. sad

HURRAY! Gov. Jeb Bush has Vetoed the "Road Rage Reduction Act." This means I'll be able to drive in theleft lane for a little bit longer. blaugh How those idiots in Tallahasse think this will REDUCE raod rage is beyond me. But at least our governer has some brains. If no Libertarians run, I'll consider voting for him just because of this. biggrin

I'd advise against that, there's been strong evidence to suggest somebody is tampering with the democratic process - 50,000 people in democratic areas being dropped from voting rolls due to "felony convictions" for crimes that never happened, diebold machines, etc...

Frankly, the governer is responsible for his subordinates. Leadership is SUPPOSED to be a thankless job - if things turn sour, you take the blame; if things go well, your staff takes the credit.

And best of all, diebold machines and their awesome vote-swapping powers!
