He nodded first to Arya and then to Nashi. "Ready!" He replied verbally.
He was quite obviously nervous about this whole ordeal. What if something went wrong? Nah, nothing could go wrong..

Nashi smiled one last time before diving into the canopy. Darkness enveloped her and a depression seemed to cling to her hyde, its origin being the forest itself. As she landed, she immediately saw the rainbow glow she had spotted from the air. It was a golden locket, and eminated a multi-colored, glittering light.
She quickly ran and grabbed it up in her teeth, and then looked at Sunflash.
"I've got it! Did you find yours?"

Sunflash quickly found his, but right next to it was another one.
... One mouth no limbs with which to grip onto it. The opressive feel of the place began to close in upon him just as soon as he landed to pick it up.
He snatched up one and quick as he could he was up again, though he was almost snagged by the hind hoof.
He was panting and holding his crystal, "There's another one down there," he was muffled because his mouth was otherwise occupied.

Nashi tilted her head and trotted over to grab it. As soon as she had levitated it up with a large flower to fall into his bag, a searing pain swept through her.
I am back.
The stallion walked eerily out of the nearby black foliage, and lowered his horn. His wings unfolded, and he looked as intimidating as ever.
Follow me or meet your doom, mlady. Nashi looked up into the sky, ready to scream for help, but the stallion blocked her mind from opening her mouth to cry. Without any other option, she followed him out of the clearing in silence.
They trudged through unknown land for what seemed like hours, all the while tears rolling down her drooping features. Soon, they reached a cave with a faint light flickering from within. Nashi found that he had let go of her mind.
Where are we... She asked weakly. He had drained every bit of power and enery that had resided within her, and her mind felt as if it would explode.
At my home, He replied, walking towards the mouth. She knew she had no choice but to follow. As soon as they were inside the cave, she saw that the flickering light had come from a very large crystal that looked much like the ones Sunflash was collecting. It hurt to think of him. His kind face, his sweet words...
You wonder why you are here, mylady. I shall tell you. He found a more comfortable position on the ground, and Nashi followed suit.
I have awaited this moment from the time I was transformed into a stallion. You see, I am not a changeling, but my mother was. I will not speak her name. But when I transformed from foal to stallion, I knew I needed a mate. That is where you come in.
Nashi's senses lurched, and fear swept through her mind. He needed a mate...
When you transform, my dear, you shall become that. Until then you may stay here. With a swish of his tail he stood and retreated to the back of the stone structure.
But... but... I cant grow till I've finished my quest! I... Tears were pouring down her now red face.
You think me to be ignorant, foal. I was there the day your quest was given. I was there when you found your first item. It was I who lured your... friend into the patch of clovers. And if it had not been for you, he would have met his fate! His words were extremely painful and cold. So she had felt something in the clover patch... and that was the reason her star pendant exploded in light. She had destroyed his spell with her own magic...
Look, if you will, to your backside. As she did, she found all of her quest items gathered into a pile. And I have arranged for them to meet Ceres' hands.
How do you know Ceres?! She said somewhat loudly.
As I told you before, my mother was a changeling. He walked silently into the night, leaving Nashi alone in the cold and foreboding cave.

While the stallion was gone, for reasons unknown to her, Nashi sifted through her quest items. Curiosity had overcome her.
In the pile there were glass raspberries, glowing raspberries, shards of stars, and rainbow dust, along with many other interesting items. But when Nashi heard hoove beats from outside the cave, she immediately pushed the scattered items back into a mountain of growth.
Dinner, my sweet. The stallion appeared at the cave mouth with a carcass in his jaw. I do hope you like Nite Dragon. He dropped it wordlessly on the floor. Nashi stared at it in disqust.
Do you have berries or fruit? She asked with a frightened tone to her voice.
I do not eat such things. And as my mate you shall eat what I do. His words stung her.
I am not hungry, she replied with now more confidence.
I can tell you are speaking falsely. Please, try a bite. You will enjoy it.
Nashi looked once more to the mangled body, and found herself about to be sick.
I am not hungry. She stared at his eyes now, every bit of confidence she had focusing on his features. He nodded.
As you wish. He then gracefully lowered his head to the carcass and chewed quietly. It was wrong. The Nite Dragon could have had a wonderful life with a protector. Mia had taught her about them. But now, it was condemed to be eaten by this beast of a Changeling.
After he had finished, the Stallion walked over to her so gracefully she could have thought him to be a ghost.
I am sorry if I have made you angry. I cannot help what I am built to consume. It is natural. And the Nite Dragon was the only meat I could find. Now if you will stand, please.
Nashi did as she was told, and turned to face him.
I shall let you sleep in peace tonight, however tomorrow you shall hunt with me. And if you do well I shall grant you something very special. There is a room seperate from the main cave. Just go to the back and turn left. I bid you goodnight.
Nashi was relieved to be away from the Stallion's prescence once more. Yet she still felt as if her life were going to end any moment. Why did he choose her out of all female changelings? Why couldnt he have captured Andromeda or Seline? They were already mares. She fell asleep thinking these many thoughts, her mind worn from exessive use. Tomarrow would be a new day.

Meanwhile:
Sunflash had gotten the Fae to help him put away his two crystals he managed to gather in this particular clearing. Though he soon realized something was wrong Nashi was no where in sight.
This drive his mind into a sudden broil of panic, what if she was hurt? What if she was trapped down there? This certainly wouldn't do. He promised to protect her.
"Oh no.." Sunflash groaned his marking began to glow a little brighter in his distress.
Despite any protests he dived down again, his heart shuddering and thudding sickly in his chest. "Nashi..NASHI.."
He landed in the clearing looking quite perturbed even for a young foal. For as young as he looked he was quite a lot older and had gone through much, "You evil place! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH HER!?" He had no place nor anyone to blame except this evil clearing and himself for not keeping a better eye on her.
"Come out monsters, I'll fight you all to get Nashi back!" Clearly, Sunflash had not seen who or what had taken Nashi. He just knew she was gone.
His voice began to deepen, sound more manly and adult, "NASHI! Answer me! Give me a clue!" He even reached out with his mind, though it definately wasn't his power or his strong suit.
The ground at his hooves began to curl with smoke and whither away as if being burned by heat. His power over fire was quickly getting out of his control.

Nashi awoke from her sleep with a start. Sunflash?! She muttered loudly.
She had felt his conciousness touch hers lightly, though from so far away it was hard to tell. She reached out with hers, hoping in the very least she could tell him where to find her. The images of her journey to the cave poured from her mind one by one until she thought she had sent him what he needed.
I heard you speak. The stallion had appeared at the doorway. Is there anything you need, m'love? Nashi wanted to spit at his hooves. How dare he call her m'love?
No, there is nothing. Although I'd like to sleep in peace. She tried to glare at him, but was unable to see where his head started and the wall ended, for he was so darkly colored.
I see. Well, I would think you to have a better sleep with company. Why don't you sleep in my part of the cave with me? It would make me very pleased. Nashi sensed what he was after. She would not do it.
No, Im fine. Goodnight. She turned sharply so that her back was to him. She hoped she had sounded confident enough.
Goodnight, came his reply. She heard him walking quickly, and she guessed out of anger, back into his part of the cave. She could not begin to describe how relieved she was.

His mind filled with images of Nashi and her journey. Sunflash's ears laid back and his eyes narrowed a bit. Whoever this being is that took her would pay, even if he had to pay with his own life just so Nashi could be freed of this.
He began to follow the faint directions, ignoring the depressive feel of his surroundings. However it wasn't depressive at all at the moment it was trying to feed into his anger to make him crazy with rage. To make him do something blind and wild. Though he seemed to ignore it for some reason. Something seemed to be protecting him.
In return he sent Nashi back his feelings. Ones of love, caring, hope, and most of all comfort. He could only hope that his connection to her was all he needed to send her back these feelings while she delt with the horrid ordeal she had found herself.
As he walked along his powers over wind and fire began to build around him and form a sort of protective armor, hiding his foal body and replacing it with an adult stallion version of himself made of these elements. Sunflash knew so much use of his powers would drain him, but he needed protection for whatever he seems to be going up against.

As Nashi layed back down in the darkest corner of her small cave, she felt Sunflash's emotions pour into her. Love...caring...hope...comfort... it soothed her so that she was soon asleep. Her last thought before this moment she sent to Sunflash: Hurry.
~*~
In the morning Nashi was awakened by the Stallion.
As I have promised, we will hunt today. But first I must grant you power.
He touched his horn to her forehead gently, and a burning pain exploded in the place it carressed. When he pulled away, a four pointed, lilac star lay there.
Good. Now you are able to use dark magic. That was the gift I spoke about. Are you pleased?
Nashi wanted to kill him. No! I am not pleased! I dont want dark magic! Who gave you permission to mark me with your evil?! She was now screaming. I never wanted to come here! And I do not want to be your mate! She raced out of the smaller cave, into the larger, and was about to run through the mouth when she collided with an invisible wall.
Do not run from me, m'love. I am the only one who can protect you. And I want to care for you as a mate should. You only need to accept it. She stared at him, disbelief in her eyes. He would never let her go.

Soon Sunflash found the area Nashi had directed him to. Still bedecked in his self made elemental armor he stared at the mouth of the cave coldly. He took in a deep breath and called out, "Nashi! I have come to save you!"
He stepped forward a little, "Fiend of darkness step forth or let my beloved go!"
The eyes of the 'armor' looked cold, and quite angry. Sunflash was like an older version of himself. Angry, protective, and ready to hurt those that did harm to those he loved.

Nashi heard Sunflash's voice from outside the cave, and both hers and the stallions heads turned. Rage exploded into the Stallion's features, and he roared so loudly that Nashi couldnt help but to shudder.
You fool! Now you shall die! She is mine!
He ran through the invisible wall without flinching, his wings beating as he picked up speed. Soon he was face to face with what looked like an older version of Sunflash who looked quite strong.
The stallion lowered his horn, the tip of it glowing a black-purple, and roared once more. His horn swiped back and fourth.
Sunflash... She sent him silent power, draining every bit inside herself to save him. Without it he could never defeat this evil beast. The stallion was now gaining strength. He flapped his wings menacingy; he reared and jerked his head; this would be a tough fight to win.

Sunflash uttered a challenge of his own pawing at the ground. With the additional power Nashi was draining into him he became much stronger. His wings flared out a bit, sending a silent whoosh of flame to either side of himself.
"You should have left her alone. No one screws with the ones I love. NO ONE!" He called out upon seeing the stallion.
He bowed his head, a mocking horn made of fire arched from his head. "Come at me, or are you afraid?" He was mocking the other stallion, trotting/stalking toward him. He wouldn't let his rage blind him to tactics. He was watching the stallion for a weakness.

The stallion looked once more, making his mind that he would fight till the death for her. He had to have her.
As you wish, young one.
He charged, his long, twisting horn pointed menacingly toward Sunflash. The tip glowed with dark and light power combined. It was a truly deadly weapon. As soon as it came close enough to touch Sunflash, Nashi cried out words she had not thought she knew.
Geuloth du knifr!
The stallion's horn struck Sunflash, however it did not pierce his flesh. Instead it bounced off with a dull thud. The stallion was so shocked that he reared.
Sunflash! Now is your chance! she shouted, seeing a break in the stallion's rage.

As the other stallion reared back, Sunflash charged forward embedding the firey horn into the chest and luckily right into the heart, "YOU CANNOT FORCE HER TO LOVE YOU!" He proclaimed as if making sure the stallion heard as he struck.
He gave a sharp twist of his head once mark hit home, "You..You'd kill her if you did that to her. Yo..You b..b*****d." He was looking firm but inside the shell he was still a foal and very wobbly by now.

The stallion cried out in both pain and anger. The blow would not kill him instantly, for he was partially immortal, however he would die. He fell to the ground in pain and trembled. His every thought was upon one subject. Nashi.
Nashi... my love...
Nashi walked slowly to his side, knowing all danger had fleed at Sunflash's triumph.
You must... take my power with you... my... power of light... and darkness...
Nashi nodded.
Then... it is yours...
A blinding glow erupted around them. It was almost intoxicating. And when it dimmed, the stallion was gone, and from Nashis purple star grew a opal horn, long and twisting, yet it fell to the ground and evaporated into the twighlight sky. It had been only a representation of his passing of power. Nashi wept. Though the stallion had taken her captive, he had also been somewhat kind to her. She shook her head, and forced a smile.
Thank you, Sunflash... you were brave. I would be doomed if it had not been for you.
